COMMUNITY – KINDNESS INDEPENDENCE – IMPACT

AN UNWAVERING BELIEF IN THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY STUDENT

WELCOME TO HARRIS ACADEMY TOTTENHAM SIXTH FORM

Dr Lawrence Foley Executive Principal

AT OUR ACADEMY, WE HAVE AN UNWAVERING BELIEF IN THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY STUDENT. WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE CAN AND WILL BE SUCCESSFUL, IF WE STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN ALL THAT WE DO.

Our Sixth Form values embody this belief: Community, Kindness, Independence and Impact. We know that each of our students will achieve academically through their independence, but also become conscious and kind stakeholders who have an impact in their wider community. Our teachers challenge our students, offer them rigour and are responsive; it is testament to this excellence in curriculum and teaching that our students become orators who can eloquently express their reasoning and beliefs and therefore effect the change they wish to see. Our Sixth Form was graded ‘Outstanding’ in 2017, and continues to grow from strength to strength. Our student alumni go on to excel in world class universities and courses, as a result of their hard work and commitment. We have extremely high expectations of the dedication and professionalism of our students, and mirror this in the exceptional pastoral care, specialised tuition and academic preparation that we offer them.

To support you with that, we offer excellent foundations and support: • Exceptional teaching, from experts in the field. • Brand new facilities. • High quality pastoral support. • A broad and balanced curriculum. • High quality careers guidance that prepares you for your next steps. • Links with the leading universities in the UK. • Enrichment opportunities and support. At our heart, we are a community school and we want you to make the most of being part of that community. There are the most fantastic enrichment opportunities on offer, whether you enjoy creative, sporting or social activities. We hope you enjoy learning more about the courses on offer, and that you’ll take the time to come and meet with us at the Academy.

“ The school’s leaders have created a culture which is firmly underpinned by the school’s values: ‘Endeavour, enjoy and excel.’” Harris Academy Tottenham’s ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report, 2017

Our Sixth Form is based in the heart of Tottenham and forms a vital part of the exciting regeneration in the Tottenham Hale area. We are a hub for ambitious young people who want to make a difference to their local area and beyond. There are two strands of post-sixteen study available at Harris Tottenham Sixth Form. The first is traditional; we are an academic centre of excellence that ensures our students gain the opportunities, support and guidance needed to access the UK’s leading universities. The second is our vocational strand; we offer a suite of subjects for those interested in specialist and profession-related courses. Across both of these strands, runs our Kinetic Football Academy. We are very proud to have the highest proportion of signings to professional football teams of all the Academy hubs found in London. Our Sixth Form continues to grow from strength to strength, and as part of the Harris Federation, we have a range of partnerships with leading universities, established through the excellent

“Geography is a fascinating and insightful look into the ever-changing modern world. Studying this subject allows us to widen our knowledge in topics such as human health within the course: “Disease Dilemma” which has been particularly interesting. This subject also presents “Place and Space” which allows students to understand how we participate in building culture around us. Geography is also explored in a local and global scale, from Tottenham to the River Nile. Geography is a great subject to pick – I really recommend it.”

KINETIC FOOTBALL ACADEMY LAUNCHED IN SEPTEMBER 2020, THE KINETIC FOOTBALL ACADEMY IS A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE BRANCH OF POST-SIXTEEN STUDY AT HARRIS TOTTENHAM SIXTH FORM. Students typically follow vocational courses such as CTECs and receive bespoke football coaching from leading professionals throughout the week. The academy adopts a holistic approach to develop each young person as a ‘whole’ rather than from just a technical or tactical component. Alongside our excellent football provision, we deliver a volunteering programme, a mentoring scheme, alongside mental health support and employability workshops.

“I chose to join the Kinetic Football Academy at Harris Tottenham due to the vast choice of subjects available and the fantastic football facilities on offer. I study three A Levels and the guidance from the teachers has really helped me develop my academic skills. We train three times a week with some of the best players in North London and receive some of the strongest FA coaching in the UK. I feel lucky to be part of the team here.”
