“I am so excited and proud to be joining Invicta in September. I have loved all the workshops and events that I have attended. I feel that I know Invicta already. I am sad to be saying goodbye to some of my friends from primary school, but I have already made new friends from the workshops and know that I am going to make many more in September.” Poppy, Year 6 student on joining Invicta

At the heart of every outstanding school is an outstanding curriculum taught by outstanding teachers – one that moves with the times, is not frightened to offer challenges, one that instils a passion for learning and ignites intellectual curiosity and one that prepares for the next step. Beginning in Year 9, Invicta’s traditional 3 Year GCSE curriculum is designed to be creative, engaging and provide an opportunity to focus on the subjects the girls really enjoy with the time to explore the challenges of studying a subject in more depth. Our excellent system of care and support enables our tutors to work with students to ensure that they have chosen the right courses. Our girls are not just one of a number at Invicta; they are part of a school where every girl is known and valued. In Year 9 we will provide your daughter with the support to guarantee that she will do well in the first stages of her GCSEs; exploring every opportunity presented to her – both academically and socially.

After School Lecture and Masterclass Programme “I really enjoyed the opportunity to hear Professor Singh, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, talk about his experiences of life as a GP and the talk by Professor Hugh Montgomery, UCL, Professor of Intensive Care Medicine. It has made me focus on my studies even more as I now know what I want to aim for.” Year 11 student

Our students display a wide range of talents and Invicta owes it to them to provide every opportunity to produce the best outcomes possible. Life at Invicta is always busy and exciting. We recognise the importance of a balance between work and play! We provide an extensive enrichment programme, which includes sporting activities, Duke of Edinburgh Award, computer programming, music ensembles, language skills, charity work, enterprise and debating societies. Students also participate in a large number of showcase performance events, Sports Day, competitions and theatre trips. Students are encouraged to take responsibility and participate in the decision making process of the school via Student Voice and the Prefect System; giving a firm sense of leadership, teamwork and the confidence to stand by their own opinions, as well as participating in visits abroad, as part of Invicta’s commitment to raising cultural awareness on a global scale.

passions... and discovering

There is an Invicta ‘buzz’ – an energy and pulse that has pace and enthuses the girls. Our unique education provides a stimulating personal and intellectual challenge, whilst maintaining the very best in care and guidance. To further develop and deepen understanding to a higher level, our curriculum is designed to provide the opportunity to take pleasure in discovery and gain an understanding of adult life. We work hard on the development of self-esteem through our popular rewards system and celebrate success at every given opportunity, as we have found this motivates and inspires high standards of achievement. Within our Personal Opportunities Programme, all students further develop independence and interests through a series of exciting workshops every Wednesday afternoon. Whatever their interests, we will encourage our students to grasp the opportunities open to them with both hands and help them to understand that there are no limits to what they can achieve.

All students have the opportunity to take on roles of leadership through the Prefect and House Systems. Students organise superb fund raising events to support the charities they have chosen; working with girls in Years 7 – 13 to develop ideas and promote roles and responsibilities, beyond the curriculum; emphasising our focus on the importance of ‘all rounded’ individuals, who will undoubtedly have an ‘edge’ as well as academic success.

d

At Invicta, we strive to achieve the best in everything we do across the curriculum within a happy and purposeful community. In Year 12, all students are offered a broad base of A Level subjects from the traditional to the contemporary with a choice of over 30 different courses. We constantly review and question our provision to ensure that it meets the needs of our students – flexibility, smaller classes and inspirational teaching maximise success; enabling students to progress to their chosen university. Advice on university entrance, ‘gap’ years, careers and employment is a key aspect of our curriculum from Years 7 – 13.

the next step... ready for

In Year 13, our students complete their journey at Invicta. They have faced lots of fresh and exciting challenges making lifelong friends along the way. They have flourished in the supportive learning environment which has focussed on the individual development of our ‘family’ of students.

“I know Invicta is a great school academically – the facilities and teaching standards are better than many fee-paying schools – but what has impressed me most about the way you have helped my daughter, is that you look for a way forward in every situation.” Parent of a Year 13 leaver

Through effective teaching and learning, Invicta students leave with a strong set of values having become lifelong learners with a recognition of the importance of independent learning. They move onwards in their journey in the secure knowledge that they can all realise their dreams and aspirations.

Based on Invicta’s core values of creativity, innovation, independence and enterprise, students will have excelled in their learning and individual achievements. Celebrated at our Year 13 Prize Giving event, we are able to reflect on the journey from Year 7 and how each student has matured in readiness to take on board new, fresh and exciting challenges ahead. Only then can we say that our goal of ‘nurturing aspirations and inspiring success’ has been fulfilled!

Ivy League Seventeen students flew to Boston, USA, to visit a number of Ivy League Universities and to see what life at an American university had to offer.

“We had thought that Harvard, MIT and Brown had a lot to offer, but when we arrived to see Yale, many of us were ‘blown away’ with the charm of the Oxford style architecture that is only 100 years old.” Year 12 student
