About
Our School Amnuay Silpa is Thailand’s leading bilingual school with a proud history dating back to 1926. It was not until 1972 that Chitra Dansuputra, the then owner/Principal, established a full primary to secondary programme. The extraordinary student achievements in national examinations and sporting competitions attracted students from all over the country. ANS recorded the highest student enrollment in Thailand in 1970. Our network of over 80,000 alumni includes 6 former Prime Ministers. At present our school is run by Amnuay Silpa Foundation, a non-profit educational trust. Situated in the heart of Bangkok, our school’s three phases - Foundation, Primary and Secondary - offer students one continuous educational journey from the ages of 3-18.
โรงเรียนอำ�นวยศิลป์เป็นโรงเรียนสองภาษาชัน้ นำ�ของประเทศไทย ที่มีประวัติอันยาวนาน จากโรงเรียนเล็ก ๆ ที่จดทะเบียนเป็น โรงเรียนราษฎร์เมื่อพ.ศ. 2469 และได้เปิดสอนเต็มหลักสูตร เป็นครั้งแรกในปีการศึกษา 2472 โดยมีครูจิตร ทังสุบุตร เป็น เจ้าของผู้จัดการและครูใหญ่ โรงเรียนได้รับความนิยมศรัทธา อย่างสูง จากผลการสอบและการกีฬาอันดับหนึ่งในระดับชาติ ทำ�ให้อำ�นวยศิลป์เติบโตขึ้นเป็นโรงเรียนขนาดใหญ่ท่มี ีนักเรียน จำ�นวนมากทีส่ ดุ ในประเทศไทยเมือ่ ปี 2513 เครือข่ายนักเรียนเก่า อำ�นวยศิลป์มจี �ำ นวนมากกว่า 80,000 คน ซึง่ รวมถึงอดีตนายก รัฐมนตรีของไทย 6 ท่าน ปัจจุบันโรงเรียนมีการบริหารงาน โดยอำ�นวยศิลป์มูลนิธิ ครูจิตร-ครูเอิบ ทังสุบุตร ซึ่งเป็นมูลนิธิ เพือ่ การศึกษาทีไ่ ม่มงุ่ แสวงกำ�ไร โรงเรียนตัง้ อยู่ ณ พืน้ ทีใ่ จกลาง กรุงเทพมหานคร เปิดสอนตั้งแต่ระดับอนุบาล ประถมศึกษา และมัธยมศึกษา ซึง่ ทำ�ให้นกั เรียนได้รบั การพัฒนาภายใตัระบบ การศึกษาที่มีความต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่อายุ 3-18 ปี

Thinkers Amnuay Silpa is Asia’s first Thinking School, accredited by the UK’s Exeter University. The world is changing faster than ever in terms of communication, technology and global opportunities. At Amnuay Silpa we teach children the thinking skills they will need to thrive in this rapidly changing world. By learning how to think critically, creatively and reflectively, students learn faster and more effectively and are better prepared for the challenges they will face in the future. Knowledge goes out of date, but thinking skills last a lifetime.

We are
Bilingual Amnuay Silpa is Thailand’s leading bilingual school with lessons taught equally in Thai and English. Children learn in both Thai and English from their earliest years at our school. In the Foundation and Primary phases lessons are taught in both languages in the same classroom using two teachers working with groups. During the Secondary phase, subjects like Science, Maths and History are taught in both Thai and English during separate lessons, carefully planned to complement each other. This unique blend of Thai and UK curricula allows students to excel at O-Net, IGCSE and AS/A-level examinations, making us Thailand’s top-performing bilingual school.

Leaders Students take the lead in their own learning and develop the skills they need to become both independent and inter-dependent. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. Whether by joining the active Student Council, mentoring younger students or completing the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, children learn the many different ways they can develop leadership skills.

We empower students so that they can become young adults who ask and respond to difficult questions, manage conflict and resolution - both locally and internationally - and show acceptance and understanding of diversity. This requires strong leadership skills, and it is these skills that we put at the centre of our teaching.

We are
Innovators We teach the transferable skills children need to thrive in careers that have not yet been invented. Rather than learning a body of knowledge through a ‘f ixed mindset’, we teach transferable skills through a ‘Growth Mindset’, because this approach will serve our students well - whatever the future holds. We stress the connections between Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Maths (STEAM), for example, encouraging children to analyse, compare, contrast, reflect and evaluate. Our up-to-date curriculum includes computer science and robotics, while a number of innovation projects will help students research and plan solutions to real world problems.

We respect
Thai Culture As a Thai school first and foremost, we teach respect for Thai culture and religion. At Amnuay Silpa, we teach traditional Thai values such as respect and self-awareness and celebrate all the major festivals in the national calendar and beyond. Children therefore leave us with a deep understanding and commitment to Thai culture, and also a strong sense of its place in the wider world and with a respect for other cultures too.

We are
Globally Aware We believe education should foster an active concern for the world and those who share it with us. Teaching Global Citizenship extends far beyond fundraising. At Amnuay Silpa it’s woven throughout the curriculum to give students opportunities to take the lead, be active and contribute to the lives of others. In the Secondary Phase, the Global Perspectives IGCSE and A-level programmes build upon the foundation skills laid down in the Primary and early Secondary phases. We teach children to value diversity and encourage a desire to tackle social injustice. By enabling our children to become good global citizens, we help to make the world fairer and safer.

A Holistic Approach At Amnuay Silpa we develop the whole child, not just their academic performance. Time spent on academic subjects is carefully balanced with sport, art, music and dance in order to give a holistic education that feeds the talents of every child. We are particularly proud of our thriving afterschool programme through which students can participate in over 100 activities including yoga, badminton, Chelsea football, music, art, robotics, chess, languages and Masterchef. We make sure that the interests and talents of every child are recognised and given the chance to shine.
