his year, all year 11 students were lucky enough to go ice skating with their tutor groups as part of the intervention programme. As a cohort who has had to face challenge after challenge, exam after exam, this was a great way to release the heat and cool down, as well as have some fun. It was a way to bond as a tutor group and to celebrate the end to an important chapter. Staff and students enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Not only did they develop their ice skating skills but they worked together and helped one another up from the icy floor when they fell, so that they could then stand tall, and continue on. There were many such touching moments as it showed great team work, determination and support for one another, but more importantly showed what an amazing group of young students they all are who are always willing to help each another. Wednesday period 5 for year 11 students will always be memories of ice skating and cherishing the time. If they show the same determination in their forth coming GCSE examinations I am sure the results will be outstanding. By Kuljit Suri (Head of Year 11)
