MUSIC

You are warmly invited to our parents’ forum on Thursday 24th April at 5.00pm.

If you would like to purchase a summer dress for your daughter, she should speak to Ms Harris in Student Reception for details and an order form.

Hundreds of HAB girls have free instrumental or vocal tuition every week.

You will be able to ask the Principal questions about any aspect of your daughter’s education and he will share some ideas on how to improve HAB even further. Girls can wear summer dresses on their own, with a jumper and/or with her blazer. Coats should not Please note that it will not be possible to discuss individual students during the be worn with summer dresses. forum, but senior staff will be on hand to do so afterwards if you wish to do so.

This commitment to music has led to HAB being chosen as the venue for the prestigious Commonwealth Festival Choir, which will perform as next year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government conference in Malta. More information to follow at www.harrisbermondsey.org.uk/habmusic

Dear Parents and Carers, Your daughters’ ambitions are a daily inspiration to me and to all the staff here at HAB. This term, we have introduced a period of silent working in every lesson, so that each girl develops as a resourceful and resilient, independent learner. Your daughters have risen to this challenge admirably, making the most of the opportunities to improve their own learning. Similarly, Year 9 students have responded to the changes to their curriculum with real maturity and thoughtfulness. Meanwhile, all Year 11s have embraced the examination ‘boot camp’, staying until 4.30pm every day for additional examination practice and revision sessions. Our sixth formers continue to be excellent role models for the rest of the Academy, with our HAB 6th prefects taking on break and lunch duties, helping younger students feel safe and happy at these important times. I am very proud of all your daughters and the HAB staff who work so hard for them. Mr Dane Principal
