CHOOSING THE RIGHT PATH Whatever study or career path you want to follow, we have the right choices for you. Sixth Form Core – 2 years: Students on our Core Programme have a wide variety of options. You may choose to take up to 4 AS Levels, 2 Level 3 BTECs or a combination of both depending on your future ambitions and GCSE grades. We also offer City and Guilds qualifications in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Hairdressing and Beauty – leading you into rewarding careers straight out of school. Sixth Form Foundation – 1 year: This programme is designed for students who are new arrivals from another country or who have missed their GCSE year through personal circumstances. In our foundation pathway students can opt from a selection of Level 2 BTECS (GCSE equivalents) and take GCSE Maths, English or ESOL where required. Students who successfully complete this programme would then be eligible to apply for our Core Programme the following year. We recognise that making the right subject choices can be difficult. If you apply to Harris Academy Peckham we will take the time to work with you to make the right decision. We offer a highly personalised approach and can make bespoke programmes across subjects and qualification types to meet your needs.

Beyond interests and hobbies we also want you to develop your personal skills in communication, organization, co-operation and leadership. As Sixth Formers you will be role models to our younger students and will have the opportunity to work with and support them as part of our faculty structure.

HELP WHENEVER IT IS NEEDED Students in the Sixth Form are placed in tutor groups and given support for everything from their academic courses to interview techniques and filling in application forms. Tutors see their students every day and will often be the first port of call for help and advice for students and parents alike. Students also have access to our onsite Careers Advisor through weekly open drop-in sessions and through dedicated skills and information sessions throughout their time at the Academy. Every 6 weeks our tutors review and reflect on your progress with you. Where we find there are gaps in your knowledge or progress we will work to support you through guided study or extra sessions after school. We pride ourselves on knowing how all of our students are doing and take the time to support those who need that little bit extra in order to succeed. Our students know that they can come to us at any time if they need help. Many of our students come back even after they have left school for advice and support. Our Sixth Form is a lively, friendly place but most of all it is a safe nurturing place where students feel, with our support, they can do whatever they want to do with their life after school.
