1. Print out the templates on page 9. Cut out the square around the circle template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Apply glue to the back of the template then stick it onto a piece of scrap cardboard. Allow to dry.

4. Bend the origami paper circle in half with the coloured side facing out and gently pinch the centre to create a small fold. 2. Cut the circle out of the cardboard. This template can now be used to trace circles onto your origami paper. Trace and cut out as many origami circles as you would like. 3. Write lovely notes for Dad on the rectangles from the template on page 9. Carefully cut each strip out.

5. Place a 2cm piece of double sided tape perpendicular to this fold. 6. Fold the circle in half on the opposite side and place a note inside.

7. Remove the paper backing from the double sided tape. Hold the fold together as shown, then gently push in the pinched fold created in step 4. 8. The fortune cookie will form once the paper folds in on itself. The tape will help keep the cookie in shape. 9. Repeat steps 4-8 to make enough origami fortune cookies to fill the crate. We made 18 fortune cookies.

Fill these fortune cookies with things you’ll do for Dad and notes telling him why he’s the best!

10. Scan the QR code for video instructions on how to assemble your crate. 11. For permanent assembly, apply glue to each join. Allow to dry. 12. Decorate your crate using vibrant acrylic paints! Allow to dry.

13. Cut out the tag template from page 9, or you can create your own. Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of the tag. 14. Attach the tag to the crate using raffia. Fill the crate with your origami fortune cookies. 15. Your Origami Fortune Cookie Crate is now ready to gift to Dad!
