Materials:
• Embroidery Thread – Set of 10 Colours – 20175
• Pony Beads – Pastel – 300g Pack – 19688
• Shepherd Hooks – Pack of 20 – 11242
• Sewing Needles – Blunt Tip Pack of 25 – 11591
• Other materials required: Scissors, a fork and a ruler.
1. Cut 4 x 30cm lengths and 2 x 4m lengths of your chosen embroidery thread colour.
2. Hold a fork in your non-dominant hand and place one of the small lengths of thread horizontally along the top prong.
3. Hold the small thread with one hand and wrap the tail around the prongs to keep it out of the way. Take one long length of thread and align one end with the bottom of the fork. Tightly wrap the length around the fork and over the small thread.
4. Continue wrapping until you reach the end of the length. Slide the loops towards the end of the fork. Bring the two ends of the small length up and tie a knot.
5. Slide the thread off the fork and tie a second knot ensuring that it is tight to hold the loops together.
6. Carefully place your scissors inside all the loops. Cut the loops opposite the knot to create a tassel. Trim the lengths so they are all even. Pull any loose threads out.
7. Wrap another 30cm length of thread around the top of the tassel as shown. Tie a knot to secure. Wrap each end around the knot. Bring the ends together and tie a double knot to secure in place.

8. Thread the two lengths of thread at the top of the tassel through a bead. You can use a needle to help you thread through the bead.
9. Bring one length down and thread back up through the bottom of the bead. Repeat for the other length on the other side of the bead.
10. Bring the two ends together and thread onto a needle. Thread them through the loop in a shepherd hook.
11. Loop the lengths around to make a knot. Before you tighten the knot, ensure the shepherd hook is sitting on top of the bead. Pull the knot to tighten in place.
12. Thread the ends of the thread back through the bead. Tie a knot around the bottom of the bead to secure everything in place. Trim any excess thread.
13. Repeat steps 2-12 to create the second earring. Your Mini Tassel Earrings are now ready to gift for Mother’s Day!
