Torres Strait Islander Suncatcher

Materials:

• Cardboard – Black – A3 – Pack of 100 – 18299

• CleverPatch™ Cover Paper – White – A4

Pack of 250 – 16142

• Cellophane – Blue – 1 Sheet – 17113

• Cellophane – Green – 1 Sheet – 17112

• CleverPatch™ Glue Stick – 40g – 13974 www.tsirc.qld.gov.au/our-work/torres-strait-islander-flag

• Other Materials Required: Ruler, scissors and a lead pencil.

4. Cut around the inside of the border to create a frame. Be careful not to cut through each corner.

5. Measure and mark 6cm up from the bottom of the frame on each side. Glue a cardboard strip from Step 1 above this mark. Repeat this process from the top edge of the frame.

3. Measure and mark out a border that is 2cm wide around each side of the cardboard.

6. Apply glue to the border around the middle section and place a piece of blue cellophane on top.

7. Apply glue to the borders around the top and bottom sections, then place a piece of green cellophane on each section. Allow to dry.

8. Print out the template on page 10 onto cover paper. Cut out the headdress and star.

9. Flip over your cardboard frame so the glued cellophane is at the back. Glue the headdress and star onto the centre of the middle panel. Allow to dry. Your Torres Strait Islander Suncatcher is now ready to display in your window!
