Theatre in the Modern World
To some, street art and graffiti is nothing but vandalism. However, to these young artists it is a form of self-expression. In this program we speak to members of Melbourne’s thriving street art scene, and examine the contribution of street art and graffiti to art and society.
Not long after the start of the 20th Century, playwrights began to experiment with theatre in a way which depicted many of the historical, social and cultural beliefs and practices as meaningless and chaotic. This film traces the evolution of modern theatre from its Existentialist roots through Absurdism to Realism.
