CONTEMPORARY MARINA MASTERPIECE 2526 FRANCISCO ST. | 5 BR / 4.5 BA | $6,200,000
Emma Prok
The simple facade of this 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom Marina home belies the amazing interior within. Sleek and chic, this 3,945 sq. ft. home (per graphic artist) is straight out of the pages of an interior design magazine. Through the custom redwood entry door, you are immediately greeted with rich hardwood floors; glass and aluminum hand rails; sleek shadow baseboards; and an incredible experience to come. Up the stairs, on the main level, the living room, dining room, kitchen island, and seating area are open, making the space perfect for entertaining. Highlights include a massive black and crystal white fireplace in the living room; a deck off of the living room for barbecuing; a dramatic light fixture in the dining room; and almost every amenity a kitchen can possess: built-in ovens, a custom floating range, a brilliant mirrored induction cooktop, a dual-basin sink, pull-out pantries, a huge Gaggenau stainless refrigerator, a built-in oven and microwave, and more.
The playful mix of white laminate; rich wood; aluminum and steel accents; and a backsplash with glass tiles makes for an extremely crisp and strikingly stylish aesthetic without sacrificing warmth. There is a deck beyond the seating area past the kitchen, perfect for dining outdoors, and stairs leading down to a lush and serene garden. On this floor there is also a beautiful guest bedroom and a full bathroom. A half bathroom also serves as a convenient amenity when entertaining guests. Built in 1927 and wonderfully remodeled, this house’s features have been planned, designed, pored over, and painstakingly built to create the ultimate living and entertaining environment. Additional features include radiant-heated floors and wiring for smart-home needs and future home automation requirements, including external cameras, and spectacular views of the Palace of Fine Arts from every level. This is a must-see.

LUCCA’S DELICATESSEN
CRISSY FIELD
Like the Lucca’s in the Mission, this classic San Francisco eatery is geared towards serving imported Italian meats, cheeses, and other yummy treats. They have a full-service deli and an awesome team of people making sandwiches, salads, and pasta fresh every day.
Crissy Field is the Marina’s front yard, a pristine stretch of landscaped grass with views of the North and East Bay. Stretching from Fort Mason down to the Presidio, it is one of San Francisco’s most beloved parks. Go for a run with the dog, walk down to Fort Point, or set up a picnic and watch the fog roll under the Golden Gate!

FUSEBOX strikes a wonderful balance between experimentation and tradition, serving up some modern spins on classic Korean food alongside lovingly crafted staples like house-made kimchi. They are perhaps most famous for their Korean fried chicken wings, but their wide range of seasonal vegetable dishes are a subtle highlight as well.
HOTEL ZEPPELIN is a distillation of artistic, bohemian San Francisco, mixing psychedelic touches with contemporary flourishes like black-lit graffiti. They succeed at creating a highlystylized experience that never feels forced or oppressive, no small feat considering the range of design styles being toyed with.

SINGAPORE is famous for fusing a range of South Asian cultures, which is evident in its food, art, and even its nightlife. There is a ton to do, from hidden speakeasy bars to bustling flea markets purveying local art, clothes, and furniture. There is highend and boutique shopping at Haji Lane and Marina Bay Sands if you’re looking to spruce up your wardrobe.

READ COVET
THE WITCHES is a refreshingly readable account of one of America’s bestknow stories: the Salem witch trials. There are a multitude of accounts of these events, some more dense and scholarly than others, but what makes this one stand out is author Stacy Schiff’s efforts to make Salem’s hysteria comprehensible to modern readers.
PITCH is an engrossing attempt to tell a story that has yet to unfold: the first female professional baseball player. There is plenty of troubling conflict that arises when a woman breaches historically masculine space like a major league baseball team, but the creators of the show take great pains to keep the story and tone positive and inspiring.
