A WORD FROM CLIMB As we enjoy the last days of summer here in San Francisco, I am attending the AREAA 2011 National Convention at the renovated Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Real estate owners, agents, and brokers come to our fair city to learn about news and the real estate market, specifically how policy, market forces, and trends impact Asian homeowners and practitioners. As I marvel at the restoration of this San Francisco institution, I realize how lucky we are to live in this part of the country. While most housing market regions are still struggling with bleak forecasts, San Francisco is one of the bright spots driven by our proximity to technology and jobs, limited housing supply, and access to the Pacific Rim. This month we highlight two developments: Mission Bay’s Madrone and The Arterra. Our fall inventory has arrived and this issue we feature Kristen Stuecher’s sleek 1-bedroom townhouse at The Arterra. Our featured agent is our lovely Senior Sales Associate, Melody Hultgren, at the Rosenblum winery. This is also a great month for food and there’s no better neighborhood to show off the harvest than Mission Dolores. Inside you’ll find reviews of Bi-Rite Creamery, Mission Beach Cafe, and Tartine Bakery. Our agent reviews will inspire your next weekend out, whether it’s a movie in Dolores Park or a clarifying yoga session. October’s issue is all about change, the month in San Francisco when we all want to hang on to the warm summer nights, but know that fall is coming soon. Personally, October is a favorite month as I celebrate three birthdays—first Mark Choey’s 41st birthday, my niece Cailyn’s 2nd birthday, and my own Mom’s birthday. Birthdays aside, Halloween in the city should not be missed. My favorite costume is the Devil in Prada. Tells us about yours.

Enjoy!

Chris Lim

NEIGHBORHOOD SPOTLIGHT MISSION DOLORES

DOLORES PARK

JOSHUA LAWRENCE Broker Associate

Dolores Park is host to any number of activities, and thriving social scene in the neighborhood known for scenesters. Guitars, playing dogs, picnics, performances, little kids, tennis courts, annual hunky Jesus contest, ultimate frisbee, sloshball, movie nights...Day or night, Dolores Park will provide the cure when looking for something to do... Mission Dolores Park is one of my favorite places to take my dog on a sunny day: grab some Bi-Rite ice cream and sandwich (I love the pastrami) from Dolores cafe and chill in the sun.

TINA LY Sales Associate L AUGHING LOTUS YOGA CENTER

JENA DAVIS Sales Associate

Laughing Lotus Yoga Center is my favorite spot in Mission Dolores. Just steps away from Dolores Park, this yoga center has affordable classes in a fun, trendy, peaceful and vibrant environment. Classes are between $10-15 and they even have a midnight class with live music!

BI-RITE CREAMERY

KRISTEN STUECHER Senior Sales Associate

When I think of Mission Dolores, two words come to mind: Bi-Rite Creamery. Be prepared for a line that spans the entire block, but it is worth the wait. My all-time favorite ice cream flavors are Honey Lavendar and Salted Caramel. Heaven in a cone! With flavors like Salted Caramel, Spiced Mexican Chocolate and Balsamic Strawberry—it’s no wonder they have a line down the block whenever the sun threatens to show up in SF.

MISSION BEACH CAFE

Mission Beach Cafe is great for brunch: wild mushroom benedict (and don’t forget their pancakes! ) TINA LY Sales Associate

TARTINE BAKERY

Tartine Bakery is an 18th Street Corridor staple. With a delightful assortment of the highest quality french pastries in the city—this is the block you want to be on. JOSHUA LAWRENCE Broker Associate
