The process of making
The ceramics producer has been based in Thailand since 1964. It is a family business run by Anong and Kiti, sister and brother. What is special is that not only they, but also many employees work here as a family. Mothers and daughters succeed each other or work together.
You will see a father and son less often: more than 95% of the 180 employees are women. Together they make, dry, bake, glaze and paint the ceramics.
We work according to the WFTO standards so that these women work safely and independently. In this way they contribute to the community.
Each step in the ceramics making process is an art in itself. That is why several masters work in these subjects, who will train others.
It starts with making a design: based on our design, the mold maker makes a first model. After a few adjustments, the new shape is ready to be created. Some products are cast, some are pressed.
The new products are first dried in the air and then baked for the first time. Then they are ready to be glazed. This is a fairly complicated process that takes into account the color of the clay used, the opacity of the glaze and the degree of gloss of the glaze (matt or glossy).
During the heating of glazed ceramics, the color of the glaze changes, which means that several tests must be carried out before the desired color is achieved: you never know for sure how the new glaze will react.
The Table is completely plastic free. We have worked with the manufacturers of our products to develop cardboard and paper packaging that is 100% recyclable. So we don't use plastic at all.

Our collection consists of different colours and these colours are glossy or matt glazed. To map this out, we have listed the colours and finishes.

The Atelier tableware is simple but special. Each plate, bowl and cup has an unglazed rim, allowing you to feel the pure texture of the material. The whole is unique yet simple. The earthy colours complement each other beautifully and create a harmonious combination.

Good working conditions
The companies and people we work with do so in accordance with the standards of the World Fair Trade Organization: fair payment and good and safe working conditions.
We think it is very important that everyone in this world gets a fair chance. A large part of our collection is made by women, who benefit greatly from their own income and therefore gain more independence.
Plastic-free packaging
We are completely plastic-free. Together with the manufacturers of our products, we have developed packaging made of cardboard and paper. This packaging is 100% recyclable.
Our table textiles are also sustainable. We have different collections, each of which is sustainable in its own way.
So we don’t use any plastic at all.
