We always strive for long lasting relationships, to rejoice people world wide with beautiful products for a warm and cosy home.

Authentic

During the interviews for this magazine and the meetings we had over the past year, the word authentic kept coming up. Fredrik Nylén, a well-known Swedish baker and photographer, fell in love with Bunzlau Castle because of its authenticity. The same was true for Danieck and Rob, owners of the beautiful Dennenoord Tea House (see page 36). They feel our products perfectly fit their warm and authentic interior. We began to realize that authentic is a word that truly suits us: we bring unique products to the market. Our decors have their own signature style and we have been working sustainably, locally and fairly for almost forty years, even during times when few companies made conscious choices.

In our view, authenticity is all about being yourself, knowing who you are and what you stand for. After all, selfawareness allows you to make the choices that suit you and to show yourself. We spoke to two inspiring women for whom this was not always

easy but who are now helping other women be their true authentic selves. We hope their stories will be an inspiration to you.

Another source of inspiration is Vincent van Gogh. His paintings are unrivalled and continue to inspire people around the world. We are therefore immensely proud of the Bunzlau Castle x Van Gogh Museum collection we are launching. The collection we designed together with the Van Gogh Museum showcases our strongest points. Van Gogh's craftsmanship, creativity and individuality are recognizably reflected in this collection, but we have also added our own typical Bunzlau Castle touch and colour. Together, we have developed an extraordinary collection which we are proud to present to you in this magazine (see page 6)!

But that’s not all. The permanent collection of ceramics and textiles has been expanded again with new products and surprising decors.

There is bound to be something in there that will make you say, "This is made for me, as it totally suits me." We hope to help you create a collection of your own that you are completely in love with.

Next year, our family business will celebrate its 40th anniversary, a milestone we want to celebrate in style. We are very grateful for what we have achieved over the past years and for where we are today. By making choices that have stayed true to our beliefs, Bunzlau Castle has developed into the brand it is today. We look forward to many more great things to come.

Piece Master

Bunzlau Castle x Van Gogh Museum

We are very proud to launch a unique ceramics and textile collection inspired by the masterpieces of Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh and Bunzlau Castle have turned out to be a great match; the craftsmanship, artistry and inspiration that both Van Gogh and Bunzlau Castle's designers have drawn from nature are the perfect ingredients for this beautiful, authentic collection.

Irises

The stunning purple irises symbolize wisdom and strength. However, due to the fading of the original painting, the irises have now turned blue. In the decor, we have combined blue and purple for a playful effect.

Sunflowers

Who hasn’t heard of it? Sunflowers is one of Van Gogh's most famous paintings. For him, sunflowers symbolized gratitude. He therefore included these bright yellow flowers in several of his paintings.

Old Vineyard

Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman is one of Van Gogh's last paintings and was the inspiration for a setting with infinitely curled vines. The wavy lines often make an appearance in later paintings.

Almond Blossom

Van Gogh immensely enjoyed large blossom branches against a blue sky. His painting Almond Blossom was a gift for the birth of his nephew, who was named after Vincent. For the Van Gogh family, this painting has remained the most treasured work.

50th Anniversary

For its anniversary, the Van Gogh Museum has developed a unique and new design inspired by seven different flower paintings by Van Gogh. The rich colours and detailed flowers are the inspiration for an extraordinary décor in which an additional painting technique is applied, making it even more unique!

Unique decors

Vincent van Gogh's works are unrivalled. His art provides people around the world with both solace and inspiration. The Van Gogh Museum, founded in 1973 by the Van Gogh Foundation, does everything in its power to preserve Vincent’s legacy for future generations. The new collection that Bunzlau Castle and the Van Gogh Museum have developed together honours this approach. Van Gogh's paintings are not directly copied onto the ceramics, but are rather the inspiration for unique yet recognizable settings.

Van Gogh’s typical sunflowers, blossom branches and irises are a recurring theme in the decors and are portrayed in a way that truly suits Bunzlau Castle's flowery and distinctive blue style. The paintings that have formed the basis for the decors can be viewed at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. This way, we want to emphasize our valuable collaboration.

Collection

The Bunzlau Castle x Van Gogh Museum ceramics collection consists of four decors that are used in all of Bunzlau Castle's bestsellers. This includes our mugs, plates and bowls, a teapot, serving dishes, oven dishes and a tray. We also have several gifts available such as our infamous tea tip, tea light holder and a variety of vases. The decorative wall plates have been newly added to our collection. They are truly unique eye-catchers for all Bunzlau Castle and Van Gogh lovers and will be an enrichment for every interior.

In our textile series, we have added kitchen and tea towels in two different designs. They are based on Van Gogh's drawings for his paintings of the vase with sunflowers and the almond blossom. More products will be added to our collection over the next few years.

50th anniversary

The Van Gogh Museum will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. To mark this joyous event, the Van Gogh Museum has created a special composition with different flowers from various paintings. For us, this was the inspiration for an extraordinary 50th anniversary décor in which we have applied an additional painting technique. In addition to stamping, certain lines have been painted directly onto the ceramics. This extra handwork makes each product unique and valuable whilst giving Van Gogh's craftsmanship, individuality and creativity the credit it deserves. Connection

The estate of Vincent van Gogh is entrusted to the Vincent van Gogh Foundation. The

foundation wants Van Gogh's work to remain accessible to everyone forever. After all, his work is the national pride of Dutch culture. Moreover, van Gogh's life and art inspire, enrich and comfort people around the world. Bunzlau Castle feels connected to the work and existence of the Foundation. Therefore, part of the proceeds of the Bunzlau Castle x Van Gogh Museum collection will go to the Van Gogh Museum Foundation.

The residents

Suzanne lives in an attractive new-build house in Amersfoort together with her husband and two children. Through her Instagram account @scandinavian_disco, she inspires people with her own interior design style, Scandinavian Disco.

Popping disco elements

Suzanne always dreamed of an interior full of graphic prints and bright colours. When she and her family moved to another area, that dream finally came true. She could now bring the many years of dreaming and brainstorming to life. The new house, which has been fully decorated, has exceeded her wildest expectations and was the beginning of her own home style: Scandinavian Disco. This unique style represents a combination of organic and neutral with graphic and colourful.

The basis of Suzanne’s house is Scandinavian – it has open spaces so that all corners catch plenty of light. Natural materials such as a light oak floor have been chosen as a base for a colourful palette. The Scandinavian interior is complemented by joyful disco elements that include statement pieces, stimulating art and colourful eye-catchers.

Cobalt blue showpiece

There is no doubt about Suzanne's favourite interior item: "My cobalt blue stool is definitely my favourite item. It’s a picture-perfect showpiece that has been in every corner of my house by now.

What I like about this piece is that it perfectly sums up who I am and what I stand for: it has a simple organic shape with a crazy twist and stands out because of its cobalt blue colour."

Heart of the home

She usually experiences the most precious moments whilst sitting at the kitchen bar. When the couple designed the layout of the home, they explicitly chose to position the kitchen in the centre. "My husband loves to cook, and I am incredibly fond of good food, so we love sharing that passion in this beautiful place. When you sit at the bar, you can overlook all the rooms as they are interconnected. That's why I truly think the kitchen is the heart of my home. It's a great place where we love to start and end the day together as a family."

Traditional and graphic

"In my day-to-day life, I love my habits. For example, I have breakfast with cottage cheese from a Bunzlau Castle rice bowl every morning and I drink a fresh cup of coffee from my favourite Farmers mug," Suzanne says. "My husband and I are both fans of the mix and match concept which means we have a very diverse collection at home. We both love traditional decors but combining them with graphic prints adds a modern touch to our tableware collection. The Blue Valentine decor, for example, combines very nicely with the rest of our tableware because of its graphic print and plain colour. That's why it is also my favourite decor."

For as long as he can remember, the kitchen has been the place Swedish Fredrik Nylén loves most. As a child, he used to help his mother cook and he soon began baking things himself. He has since written an impressive range of cookbooks, is making a name for himself as a food photographer, has a popular cooking blog and is a well-known TV chef.

"Food is part of a good life, coziness and being together."

First baking book

That he would make a living out of cooking was expected of him. He therefore took a cooking course but did not end up in the kitchen. Instead, he got an office job as an HR consultant. Baking was just a hobby. Until 2013, when he came second in The Great Swedish Bake-Off. "Coming second in such a famous competition was the best prize. I was able to make a name for myself but had no further commitments." He started a blog which, among people who love cooking and baking, became very popular. It wasn’t long before his first baking book with his own recipes was published.

Now, Fredrik's cooking and baking skills are famous all over Sweden. Over the past decade, he has posted more than 2,300 recipes on his blog Fredriks Fika and has seven baking books to his name. "I opened a bakery but soon realized: this is not for me. I was bored of having to make the same thing every night. I want to be creative, constantly developing new recipes and creating pretty pictures. I now have the best job in the world."

Nostalgia

“Ideas for the books actually just kind of come to me. I don't really plan anything. While working on my blog, my interest in a particular subject is usually spiked and then I just dive into it. For example, I looked into everything about soft bread rolls: where do these recipes come from, what variations are there and what can you do with them? I also wrote a cookbook about baking small biscuits. Small biscuits are typically Swedish. For this, I went looking for old recipes. I got some great reactions like: 'Amazing, my grandmother used to bake these biscuits all the time!' My creations were able to evoke a sense of nostalgia."

Swedish Fika

"When I think back to the old days, I immediately go back to my great-grandmother's kitchen. She lived in a typical Swedish green wooden house. She had apple trees in her garden. When we came to her house, a traditional Swedish Fika was always waiting for us. Exactly as it should be, her Fika consisted of seven pastries: five different small biscuits, one roll and a cake." Fika is a true Swedish phenomenon: you stop

"Beauty inspires me."

what you are doing for a moment to have a cup of coffee and something sweet. Fika is about rest, taking a break from your hectic life and paying attention to each other. Swedish companies do Fika. And on birthdays, Swedes pull out all the stops with their Fika. They celebrate with biscuits, bread rolls and cakes and show that everyone is welcome. Naturally, Fredrik created a baking book full of Fika inspiration: Summer Fika.

Food is very important to Fredrik. "Food is a celebration. For me, eating is part of a good life, coziness and being together. I always pay attention to my meals. Whether it's breakfast or lunch. Dinner is my favourite meal. Especially in summer, when the evenings are long and the evening light is soft. Those are the best evenings for my partner Emil, our dog and me. We live in a small town about two hours north of Stockholm. In 2015, we bought a small church which we converted into a home. It is a lovely tall building that allows us to accommodate a lot of people. And, of course, I installed a proper kitchen."

Picture perfect

"I think cooking and baking don't have to be complicated. You can make lots of delicious things with common ingredients. For my recipes, I apply a defining rule: if an ingredient cannot be found in the small town where I live, I don't use it in my recipes. I want everyone to be able to make what I make. But I do make sure every meal looks beautiful. Beauty inspires me. That's why I love Bunzlau Castle products so much. I came across your brand at a fair in Stockholm and was immediately blown away. The blue patterns match beautifully with every dish. Everything lights up. Even a simple lasagna becomes picture perfect when served on a Bunzlau Castle plate. So I love using your products in my photos. I think I have virtually every decor."

Almond Blueberry Cake

Are you looking for something tasty to go with your coffee or dessert? Then this delicious Almond Blueberry Cake is a real winner. A perfect combination of nutty almonds and sweet, juicy blueberries.

If you feel like baking something, definitely try this recipe. Surprisingly easy and very tasty. Enjoy this flavourful cake!

Preparation Almond blueberry cake

1. Set the oven to 175 degrees Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit. Butter and dust baking pan approximately (Ø 22 cm or 9 inches).

2. Beat together the butter and sugar with an electric beater in a bowl. Add lemon zest and beat in one egg at a time.

3. Mix almond flour, wheat flour and baking powder and pour into the bowl, quickly whisk together to a smooth batter.

4. Distribute the batter in the baking pan and smooth. Press the blueberries halfway into the batter and sprinkle with slivered almonds.

5. Bake in the middle of the oven for 30–35 minutes. Carefully test with a skewer in the middle, it should come out clean.

6. Leave the cake to rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to cool. Serve with whipped cream.

Ingredients for 8 persons

• 175 g room temperature butter

• 2 dl caster sugar (180 g)

• Zest from 1 lemon

• 2 eggs

• 2 dl almond flour (100 g)

• 1.5 dl flour (90 g)

• 1 tsp baking powder

• 2 dl blueberries

Topping

• 1 dl almond shavings

Strawberry Cobbler

Strawberry cobbler is a delicious treat, especially during the summer months. It includes an airy pastry with fresh strawberries that provides an explosion of sweet and fruity flavours. Adding fresh strawberries on top of the pastry makes it extra fresh and tasty.

Preparation Strawberry cobbler

1. Set the oven to 200 degrees Celsius 400 Fahrenheit.

2. Clean and cut the strawberries into pieces.

3. Mix the flour, caster sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar and salt in a bowl.

4. Add the butter in pieces and knead into a crumbly dough with your fingertips.

5. Add the milk and egg and quickly knead into a loose dough. After this, press the dough into the baking dish.

6. Distribute the strawberries evenly over the dough and sprinkle with raw sugar.

7. Bake the cobbler in the middle of the oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the dough has a nice color.

8. Serve the cobbler warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

• 4 dl flour (240 g)

• 1 dl caster sugar (90 g)

• 2 tsp baking powder

• 2 tsp vanilla sugar

• 0.5 tsp salt

• 100 g of butter

Taking a breather at Theehuis Dennenoord

Take a look inside the teahouse of Danieck and her boyfriend Rob. Together, they took over the teahouse and guesthouse to provide people with an experience in nature.

Beautiful surroundings

In the woods between the villages of Vasse and Ootmarsum lies the characteristic Theehuis Dennenoord. This unique catering establishment has a rich history which is reflected in the inviting, classic décor. It is a place where you can both catch your breath and celebrate life. Owners Danieck and Rob have big plans for Dennenoord.

An experience

Danieck used to work at Dennenoord when she was still a student. She loved it there. The place itself, the contact with the guests; there was an instant connection. So it felt like a great stroke of luck when, at the age of 24, she could take over the teahouse together with her boyfriend Rob. The young entrepreneurs are brimming with ideas for the various premises that frame the teahouse. "We want Theehuis Dennenoord to be an experience. Whether you come here for a cup of coffee or want to organize a wedding where guests can stay the night in one of the accompanying cottages. We have many dreams for the future and are making them come true step by step."

Old guest books

The old guest books show that the teahouse has always been a special place. It was built in 1921 by Mr Gimme. He provided the building with the English cottage style it currently still has. When he was forced to move the building to its present location in 1925, the cottages were added. Until the Second World War, it was a thriving business that was particularly popular with the well-off. After many years of reconstruction, in 1970, the teahouse was passed on to the Ende family who managed it for 40 years. Danieck likes to read the old guest books. "They are a bit like Google reviews of the olden days."

Are you in Twente?

Then don't skip Theehuis Dennenoord! There is an abundance of activities in the surrounding area. Four walking routes start from the teahouse, and it is close to the border with Germany where there are many outdoor pools.

Take a break

Danieck and Rob cherish Dennenoord's long history. "It doesn’t surprise me that it's been around for so long. This place is beautiful. You can sit here in the middle of the forest and at the same time overlook the meadows with cows. People can completely unwind here. They often make a full day out of it. They start at our place with a cup of coffee, then take a walk in the beautiful surroundings and come back for a nice lunch. We have a bad WIFI connection here, but that's fine by us. It will simply allow you to recover from all the outside noise."

"Bunzlau Castle suits Dennenoord because of its authentic, timeless design, basic blue colour and quality. We currently also sell the products in our shop because we had so many people asking for them! Our favourite product is, of course, the teapot. It really comes into its own with our high tea."

High tea

Naturally, the enterprising couple is focused on Dennenoord almost every day. "We regularly come up with a new menu, and our high tea changes seasonally. Furthermore, there's still a lot of redecorating to do, because that too is part and parcel of an old building. But we enjoy every minute of it. Our colleagues often become our friends, and we can always go for a nice walk with our dog. The surroundings lend themselves perfectly to that!"

Coaching and personal development with a golden lining. Anne-Maartje's practice helps women on their way to a powerful and meaningful life.

We meet her at her home in Oestgeest. Over a cup of tea, she talks passionately and lovingly about her life and her practice.

"Turn the little flame that is inside you into a burning fire. Life is too beautiful not to enjoy it" is the most important thing Anne-Maartje wants to pass on to women that cross her path.

At her coaching practice Bij Anne-Maartje she meets many women who try to do everything at the same time but who, as a result, do not live consciously. Living in the now, according to Anne-Maartje, is key. "Life is malleable in many ways, you can often change something in the moment. You can ask for help, choose not to do something or adjust your outlook on the situation."

Lente

Anne-Maartje knows what she is talking about. For many years, she did not live life to the fullest. She worked as a teacher, maintained a rich social life and looked after their two small children together with her husband Laurens. But the arrival of daughter Lente in 2012 brought along a huge turnaround. Lente was born with a serious heart defect. After major heart surgery, she recovered poorly. She spent eight months in ICU and fought for her life. But there was no improvement. Lente was eventually allowed to go home for a little while before the family had to say goodbye to her.

The loss of their beautiful girl, who always smiled in spite of everything, was immense. Anne-Maartje, Laurens and their children went through a period of deep mourning, each in their own way. When Anne-Maartje tried to pick up her teaching job again, she felt everything at once. It didn’t suit her anymore. She decided

to change course. She began working on herself with the help of a therapist and after a period of hard work, she opened her own children's coaching practice. This gave her a huge kick. She soon realized, "I am an entrepreneur! I can stand on my own two feet!"

Being an entrepreneur

"My husband Laurens and I are movers and shakers. We are always full of plans and like to try new things." The same was true for her practice. "Entrepreneurship is like being a kid in a sweets shop. I see amazing opportunities all the time and I have so much fun! That's why it comes easily to me. But I do also ask for help. Whether it's for the practical and substantive development of my business or for myself. Asking for and accepting help is a powerful thing. I often say it to the women who come to my practice: dare to invest in getting help! Acknowledge the different roles you play, take them seriously, and accept the parts of life you could use some help with."

Gradually, Anne-Maartje's practice began to change. She said goodbye to children's coaching to focus entirely on women. "I have a special connection with women. I love connecting with them. Life is fragile. It is a very special feeling when I get to help women who have stalled a bit along their way. I help them learn to really take control of their lives again and I love to see when they start taking care of themselves again." Meanwhile, Anne-Maartje offers various coaching activities.

When you hold these oven dishes in your hand, you can feel the sturdy quality of the ceramic. The high-quality ceramic evenly distributes heat while the dish is in the oven. Why are you a fan of Bunzlau Castle products? When I got married, we received a beautiful set from Bunzlau Castle as a gift. The tableware absolutely stood out from what we already had at the time. Not only does it look beautiful with its timeless prints, but you also feel the quality when you eat and drink. Seven years and two children later, only one cup has broken.

I once bought a set to fix the tableware with a nice gold edge (Kintsugi), and now it’s still being used because it just doesn’t break.

Bunzlau Castle's diversity immediately appealed to me. All the different styles that can be combined. Besides, I really like cooking and it is very practical that everything can be put in the oven. Setting the table is a celebration every time.

My grandmother and mother also collect Bunzlau Castle. Together, we go to shops where they sell it. It's really nice to be able to share this. My favourite product is a cake stand given to me by my grandmother. A product of which I have many fond memories and that comes out for every celebration.

Celebrate life with floral mocktails by Bunzlau Castle

Mocktails are perfect for celebrating special moments with family, friends or loved ones, but one thing makes these moments even more special: flowers. A delicious mocktail with floral undertones can be the perfect refreshment and a great choice for special occasions or to treat yourself to a tasty drink. Cheers to a delicious floral mocktail!

Cucumber Rose Mocktail

This out of the box flavour combination is a delicious mix of fresh cucumber with the sweet floral taste of roses. A drink that will truly surprise you!

How to make it:

Squeeze the lime in a jug. Cut the cucumber into pieces and add them to the lime juice together with the pinch of salt and the rose syrup. Crush the cucumber using, for example, the pestle of a mortar or a fork. Take a water glass and fill it with (crushed) ice. Pour the cucumber rose mixture through a colander over the ice. Top up with sparkling water and garnish with cucumber and/or rose petals.

This is what you’ll need:

• 2 tablespoons of rose syrup (approx. 30 ml)

• 30 g cucumber cut into pieces

• 1 lime

• pinch of salt

• sparkling water

• cucumber and rose petals for garnish

How to make it:

Arjanne Hameeteman is married to Hans and mother of Brian. An entrepreneur at heart, she runs her own coaching company Arjanne Hameeteman BV and, together with her husband, Visspecialist Hameeteman.

Arjanne started her coaching business three years ago. She helps people become a healthier version of themselves. Healthy living has not always come naturally to Arjanne, as she struggled with obesity for a long time. After peaking at 190 kilos, she decided to turn her life around and lost 100 kilos.

Emotional eating

"When my mother got cancer, I took care of my younger brother. This responsibility and the worry about my mother's health were accompanied by a lot of sadness and helplessness." As a result, Arjanne began hiding her emotions at a young age. By eating a lot, she suppressed her thoughts and emotions. "As a result, I got heavier and heavier. By the age of 12, I weighed 115 kilos," she says.

Living in the shadow

Being overweight influenced many daily situations and her choices. "When I was a teenager, I could only shop at shops for plus-size women with size 52. So when I would go shopping with my girlfriends, I could only look. Those cute clothes would never fit me.

My dream was always to become a nurse. The fear that I would not fit into a white uniform and everyone would judge me by my stature made me decide not to take the course. Everything throughout my teenage years was overshadowed by my weight. I was always very sweet and nice to everyone, but deep inside I felt so much sadness, shame, weakness, insecurity and powerlessness. I never dared to show my true face to anyone. So the emotional eating remained in full force."

"Shortly after getting married to my husband, I got pregnant. Nine months later, our son Brian was born with many health problems. Besides his weakened heart and lungs, he struggles with a blood clotting disease and an autoimmune disorder. His poor eyesight on top of that means Brian needs a lot of care. He has been in ICU countless times. When the situation became worrisome and we were told to say goodbye to our son multiple times, repentance came to me. Because of my own health problems, I realized that I was not going to grow old and thus I would not be able to take care of my son. Brian will need me for the rest of his life, so something had to change."

Turning the switch

"I started writing down my diet in a diary. I also wrote down how much I weighed and how I felt about that. Becoming conscious of my daily routine gave me more insight, which was very supportive. By eating pure foods that I could just buy at the supermarket, butcher, greengrocer and fish specialist, I soon noticed a difference. In addition, I started weighing myself and measuring my centimetres. I wrote it all down in my notebook. In the end, I lost 108 kilos!"

Feeling good about yourself

By now, eating like this has become a habit for Arjanne. By exercising more and choosing healthy foods, she is much more comfortable in her own skin. "I have so much energy every day and can handle a lot more mentally. This was absolutely not the case before my weight loss journey. I was always exhausted after a day's work and struggled with various physical problems. I used to be incredibly insecure and hid my emotions behind my generous smile. Now it turns out that behind that smile is a confident woman. I am comfortable in my own skin and dare to stand up for my beliefs. This allows me to live each day to the fullest."

Arjanne's salmon salad

A delicious salmon salad is the perfect dish for a festive moment. With creamy pieces of smoked salmon, vegetables and a refreshing dressing, this salad makes for a tasty and light meal. The soft pink of the salmon and the vibrant colours of the vegetables give the salad a playful look.

Preparation

• Cut the cucumber and tomatoes into pieces, the spring onion into rings and half the avocado into slices.

• Spread the lettuce over the entire plate.

• Top with the cucumber, tomatoes, spring onion and radish.

• Add the avocado.

• Break up the salmon into pieces and place on top of the salad.

• Finish the salad and with some almonds and a mustard-dill dressing.

Ingredients for 1 person

• 100 grams romaine lettuce (or any lettuce of your choice)

• 1 mini cucumber

• 4 mini tomatoes

• 1 spring onion

• 1 radish

• half an avocado

• 1 smoked salmon steak (add pepper to taste)

• 8 almonds

• 3 sun-dried tomatoes

• tablespoon of mustard-dill dressing

Arjanne’s Halibut with green asparagus

Preparation

• Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

• Grease the baking dish with some oil.

• Place the halibut fillets in the centre of the baking dish.

• Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the halibut.

• Top with the sundried tomatoes and pine nuts.

• Put the dish in the oven and bake for 15-20 min at 180 degrees.

• The baking time depends on the thickness of the halibut fillet.

• Meanwhile, peel the green asparagus.

• Cook them al dente in 10 min in a large pan of boiling water.

Serve your meal on a pretty Bunzlau Castle dinner plate. Start by placing the asparagus in the centre of the plate. Top with the fried halibut with the melted parmesan cheese, pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes. And a sprig of dill for decoration on top.

An important part of sustainability is the choice of materials for our products. But we think it is just as important to make good choices regarding production, people and transport. Material selection

We think it is important that the quality of our products is high, so that the product will have a long lifespan. The choice of materials plays an important role in this. We make realistic choices in this regard. For us, it is important that the products are suitable for daily use as well as for special occasions, without compromising on quality. Because a product that can last for years is also sustainable.

Bunzlau Castle dinnerware is made with raw materials from the area surrounding the factory. As many as seven different types of clay are used. The paint used to decorate the ceramics is made from natural materials. The different collections combine well with each other, and are therefore less susceptible to trends. This way, you can save the dinnerware for life.

For our kitchen, table, and home textiles, we find the choice of material incredibly important. Again, we deliberately choose to produce in Europe. The cotton is 100% organic, free of harmful substances and chemicals.

To give you as a consumer more certainty and clarity, many of our products have official OCS and/or GOTS certifications. This means that an independent party has inspected the entire chain. From the plantation to the wholesale.

Production

The production is done with great care. Every detail has been thought through, and this is reflected in the products. All scraps created during production are reused. Pieces of fabric from kitchen and dish towels we use again to make oven mitts and potholders.

The factories have a biological waste-water treatment plant and the spinning plants run entirely on solar energy. The warehouse in Nijkerk is also gasless and runs on solar energy.

People

Before the product reaches your hands, many people have worked on it with love. We visit our factories regularly, so we have experienced the good working conditions first-hand. Child labour is strictly prohibited. Wages and working conditions throughout the chain are good and safe, again this has been verified by independent parties. That gives a great feeling.

Transportation

As all of our products are produced in Europe, they don't have to travel as far to the Netherlands. With our warehouse centrally located in the Netherlands, we can deliver quickly. We ship our packages with DHL. They off set their CO2 emissions and guarantee climate-neutral delivery.
