A season of togetherness This weekend, we ventured out as a family for a long walk. The trees are stunning these days and the fresh breeze left our cheeks tingling. Hot chocolate brought from home was our warm award at the end. Spending time outdoors in nature gives us sense of adventure and togetherness and creates lasting memories. For me, this signifies true joy and marks the perfect start to winter. This special time of year invites holiday cheer, togetherness and the creation of precious moments with family and friends. Fragrant potpourri Autumn is in full swing and that means it’s time to fill your home with the warm, welcoming scents of the season. What could be better than a beautiful potpourri you can make yourself?

This is what you need: • oranges • apples (Granny Smith) • bay leaves • star anise • cinnamon sticks • walnuts or acorns • essential oils of your choice • Bunzlau Castle dish

“Enjoy the winter scents ”
Step 1: drying the oranges and appels To create a lovely winter scent, start by drying the oranges and apples. Slice these thinly and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Put the oven on a low temperature (convection oven approx. 60 degrees) and allow the slices of fruit to dry gradually.
Step 2: Collect pine cones
This is perhaps the most fun step of making the potpourri! While the oranges and apples are drying, it’s time to search for pine cones. Would you like to give the potpourri extra sparkle? Paint them with gold paint or apply gold foil for an enchanting added touch. 20

Step 3: Assemble your potpourri
Now that you have dried fruits and pine cones, it’s time to compose your potpourri dish. Take a nice Bunzlau Castle dish and place all the ingredients in it. Arrange everything so that the dried oranges, apples and pine cones stand out nicely.

Step 4: Adding winter scents To truly bring your potpourri to life, use essential oils to add several scents. Cloves, cinnamon, orange, pine or a touch of vanilla all blend perfectly. This seasonal addition provides added warmth and depth to the scent of your potpourri.

Now that your potpourri is ready, it’s time to put your creation on display. Hot Chocolate with marshmallows Sitting comfortably in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate, it’s that time again! With this in mind, we explain how to make this delicious chocolate milk with marshmallows yourself step by step, so you can enjoy it during the dark days of winter. Instructions: • Break the chocolate into pieces. • Warm up the milk and melt the chocolate in it while stirring. • Add the cinnamon and a little extra sugar if desired, whip the whipping cream with the icing sugar until stiff. • Pour the chocolate milk into a large mug. • Spoon on a dollop of whipped cream and finish with the mini marshmallows and chocolate drops.
Ingredients: • 600 ml semi-skimmed milk • 100 g cream • 200 g dark chocolate • 50 g milk chocolate • pinch of ground cinnamon • 1 tsp icing sugar • 150 g mini marshmallows
