How a healthy smile can change your life Voted the Best Dental Clinic in Europe in 2015, Kreativ Dental Clinic in Budapest has attracted many patients worldwide, including some wellknown Irish faces. Presenter, actress and model Claire Tracey tells us how the clinic not only helped her achieve her perfect smile, but also gave her a new-found confidence and outlook on life
A
brighter smile can bring a brighter day, something Claire Tracey knows all too well. Despite being a natural performer from a young age, Claire never felt confident enough to open her mouth to talk, sing or laugh due to her mercury fillings. To top that off, Claire had a huge fear of dentists – even when she plucked up the courage to go, she never got the results she wanted. “I felt that I was handing out a lot of money for dentists,” says Claire, “but my teeth were still troubling me. Eventually, I stopped going to the dentist but as a result, I developed tooth decays which caused me serious pain. “I had heard about Kreativ Dental Clinic in Budapest through a friend, and they had told me about their great experiences with them. I had an abscess then in the back of my mouth, which I had put off for a very long time. But because they can be so dangerous, I knew I had to do something about it. So, I contacted the Irish representative of Kreativ Dental, Mary Flanagan, and she assured me that everything was going to be okay.”

I ACTUALLY FOUND THAT ONCE ONE PROCEDURE WAS DONE, I WAS TRYING TO FIND SOME OTHER REASON TO GO BACK TO KREATIV DENTAL AND BUDAPEST!
Treatment
Having had trouble with her own teeth, Mary understood how Claire was feeling. Mary, who travels over to the clinic regularly with clients, was advised that getting work done to her teeth in Ireland would cost her up to ¤60,000. However, after being advised by a retired Irish dentist to visit Kreativ Dental, she had the same treatment 11 years ago, at a much-lower price of ¤12,000. Since then, Mary has had no problems with her teeth. “When I arrived at Kreativ Dental, I felt my initial nerves and fear of dentists disappear,” says Claire. “The clinic is like a hotel and the staff were so welcoming and lovely. They carried out an OPG x-ray, which was examined by the team of specialists, and gave me a treatment plan. To my surprise, the severity of my case wasn’t as bad as I had expected. In fact, I didn’t need as much treatment as I had been previously advised. “There was no pain whatsoever throughout the treatment and I actually found that once one procedure was done, I was trying to find some other reason to go back to Kreativ Dental and Budapest!”
Perspective
As a model and performer, portraying confidence is a trait that is part and parcel
Kreativ Dental’s second clinic, Kreativ Dental 2 of her job. Does Claire believe Kreativ Dental has played a part in helping her feel more at ease in front of the camera? “Not only was Budapest an amazing city to explore – with the baths and rich history of the cathedrals and museums – but it also gave me the time to reflect on myself as well. It’s not really an overnight thing where you say ‘okay, I’m going to open my mouth now’. In a way, I had to retrain myself to enjoy laughing and singing without having self-conscious thoughts. The trip has meant a lot more for me than just a procedure to get my teeth done – it has helped me both physically and emotionally.” It’s clear that the clinic has not only made a positive impression on Claire, but also the average of 350 patients from Ireland and the UK who travel to Kreativ Dental per month. Due to the increasing demand, Kreativ Dental has had to open a second clinic two minutes’ walk away – Kreativ Dental 2 – so that everyone gets the chance to achieve their ideal smile and fully-functional teeth which provide the ability to eat all foods again.
