10 Ques-
tions With JOSEPH BILLS
By: Brett Deadly Question 1: Thank you for taking some time to be interviewed. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers? I’m Joseph Bills and where I come from, we don’t turn up because we live at 11, so we’re already #MAXEDOUT! I’m a high energy, trueto-self hip hop artist and entrepreneur. I would not be where I am today without God’s grace and mercy on my life, a message you will hear throughout my entire catalog. Message to the readers: whatever season in life you’re going through, just know it is only a season. The lows will rise again. No matter what, you have a purpose in life so keep pushing, keep going and don’t stop for anyone! #MAXOUT Question 2: How long have you been making music? I have been creating music since I was 13 and for the last six years, I have taken it seriously as a business by continually learning how to break into the industry to be able to feed my family and employ all my day-one supporters. 5
Question 3: Who gets bragging rights

Honestly, the bragging rights for my success goes to my friends, fans and supporters. In 2019, I started charging for my performances because I began to calculate the value attached to my brand. It’s absolutely humbling the way the fans continually show up for me, rocking the #gotbills merch and are always completely #MAXEDOUT in the crowd or on the stage before the show and after the show. I mean I honestly couldn’t ask for better support. After most shows, we mob deep to Waffle House and enjoy the vibes through the early morning. They are the ones that made my name what it is. I plan to continue to provide my very best music, visuals, and performances along with quality merchandise and there is no telling how far the #MAXOUTMOB and I are going to go. The real MVP is my wife Sheree (@ mysweetsmour). She has spent almost as many hours as I have to build everything we have going for us currently, from creating my LLC and teaching me how to do it for others to run-

I was able to create new music too, because up until the pandemic, I stayed busy with designing and manufacturing new merchandise, deliveries, preparing for and executing performances and traveling. I would go a month or two without writing a new song! So, with

Until recently, I would say I couldn’t wait until I got some haters because you ultimately level up when people are comfortable publicly disliking or attempting to discredit you. I have not thought about this in too much depth, but if it’s my dream tour, it would have to be some impossible scenario! I would love to go on tour with Lil Wayne (Carter II, Carter Three Lil Wayne), Strange Music, Post Malone, Meek Mill and J. Cole. Half of that list is for nostalgia sake and let’s face it, Lil Wayne is not going back in time, but I know just from seeing highlights from all those artists on tour that it is nothing but fun, high energy and tour bus studio sessions. I might even win a couple thousand dollars shooting three-pointers with Meek Mill. Post Malone looks like he has the most fun anytime he’s doing anything involving a crowd. SLICK NICK THE NEPHEW Review By: Brett Deadly
Hailing from Rancho Cucamonga, Slick Nick Da Nephew is clearly a force to be reckoned with. At 1st glance, I was most impressed by the mass amount of support this southern California artist is yielding on Soundcloud. Before I even hit play on the 1st track, I was already enamored with his presence. After listening to the 1st track “Rawhide” that popped up on his artist spotlight, It became obvious what all the hype was about. Slightly comedic but serious as hell with his delivery. I literally stopped what I was doing to focus on this man’s track. The beat, produced by Treetime, was very energetic
and solid but retained a classic hip hop feel. This compliments the steady fast delivery of Slick Nick’s bars. When I went on to the next song “What do I know” I found the same thing. Steady bars delivered with precision. However on this track he breaks things down into a nice hook where he sings his lyrics in a way that make me want to spark one and stop stressing about life so much. As this song came to an end, I thought to myself. Slick Nick has a very diverse range of sounds. “What Do I Know’ is a more alternative, sad boy type track. Which was not what I was expecting but he performed it well.
Finally I listened to my favorite song by Slick Nick so far, “A Lot On My Plate”. This beat was produced by Majin Beats and it’s an absolute rager. There is no way he recorded this without banging his head in the studio. I can see it now. The energy on “A Lot On My Plate” was absolutely massive. In my mind, I could see him performing this in a packed club with the likes of Lil Dicky. I give my experience on Slick Nick The Nephews soundcloud a 8 out of 10. Only because I want to see more from this upcoming artist.

Free Jcup3 by: Jcup Review By: Brett Deadly I was a fan of Jcup before he even inquired about this album review. Jcup is a Phoenix Arizona local with a massive sound and presence within the local hiphop community. He is a versatile and ruthless mc that is not afraid to step outside of the box, and his latest album Free Jcup3 is a testament to his diversity. Released on november 27th 2020, Jcup3 Is an album I would refer to as “Hood Woke”. His beat selection is on point but what is most impressive about this release is the man’s vocal presence. Jcup is a high energy musician who packs morals and purpose into his music. He isn’t ranting about bullshit, or flexing things that don’t matter in the long run which has some-
how become the norm in typical rap and hip hop songs these days. So this album is a nice breath of fresh air. A real genuine Record. The kind “people don’t write anymore” as Beyonce likes to say. He uses the tracklist from this release to tell each chapter of his story. To shine light on his struggle with the law, missing his family behind bars, and getting out to ultimately execute his vengeance by getting his career in music off the ground and on its way. The last bit being something I personally find highly relatable. Unforgiving on his journey, Jcup isn’t happy with the opposition, and in his book they get “No Love” which he references in a
few songs, to make sure they dont forget it. Whether it be the cops, or haters talking behind his back, it’s very clear, he isn’t feeling it. He ends the album on a positive and inspirational note. There is no point tripping over Jcup if you are a hater because he ain’t out to get anybody, its just his “Life Style”. His prayers have been answered and now he is living his best life regardless of someone plotting on him. Fear No Evil as the saying goes. He doesn’t have time for people talking out of their ass. And he manifests everything he does by pushing forward past them. People are going to hate you no matter who you are, just don’t stop and outshine them. It’s not easy, but it’s that simple. 19

Cons, there’s no community to the scene, people act like mean girls in high school, everybody is sectioned out in cliques trying to be on “top” with a poor attitude they carry as individuals.
