Clovis Community College and THE CITIZENS BANK OF CLOVIS present:
Cultural Arts Series
2015 2016
Dear Friends, As our 15th season opens, I anticipate one of the most inspiring and delightful series of performances we have ever had. This year we have everyone from television stars, to Branson, Missouri favorites, to some of the past performers you have enjoyed and requested back. All of this is made possible through your subscriptions, tickets sales, grants, and, of course, our sponsors, especially our main presenting partner, The Citizens Bank of Clovis, leading the way. Through this community support, we are able to make the arts affordable and available to all. In our mission statement, this is as important to us as the events. It is our belief that a healthy town or city has a vigorous and active arts association. Documented by major studies, it has been proven that the arts can build community identity and pride which leads to diversity, tolerance, and brings everyone together in a true communal spirit. I am proud to be connected and have always seen Clovis Community College as the vehicle for this leadership. So with these words, I leave you with these thoughts, and ask you to take pride in your Series, and continue to support the arts in all their forms. Remember, the arts are here for you. Enjoy your new season presented by Clovis Community College, your arts leader!
Christy Mendoza Cultural Arts Series Director
Dear Friends of the Arts, On behalf of the Board of Directors and employees of The Citizens Bank of Clovis, we are thrilled to once again “bring the world” to eastern New Mexico and serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2015-2016 Cultural Arts Series. As one of the largest, family owned community banks in east-central New Mexico, we are proud of our deep and lasting roots in the area and have dedicated resources to help build a strong community and enhance the quality of life for area residents. Our commitment and involvement in the community has been an important part of the way we do business. We congratulate Clovis Community College, the CAS Board of Directors, staff and the many volunteers who bring the Series to life, and we urge you to join us in supporting the Cultural Arts Series program – a wonderful community asset. Best Regards,

Marshall Auditorium | 7PM Joseph Hall's Elvis Rock ‘n’ Remember show achieves a powerful flashback experience to the moment when fans fell in love with the talented, handsome, carefree, energetic, and high spirited young man that is Elvis Presley. Paying tribute to the legacy of Elvis Presley since 2006, Joseph Hall starred on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2008 and was a top 10 finalist. He has officially been recognized by Elvis Presley Enterprises as one of the top Elvis tribute artists in the world today. This tribute show is masterfully produced with a mixture of Elvis hits from rock ‘n’ roll to country to gospel, stage props, multiple costume changes, and a live rockin’ band. The finale features a one-of-a-kind, heartfelt tribute to our veterans. He's even got the teddy bears and scarves to woo the ladies. A must see for all ages! www.josephhallelvis.com

“One of America’s most inventive string bands.” – The Boston Herald For fifteen years, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem have been brewing their own blend of American roots music. Their shows sparkle with songs and stories that celebrate, explore, and revive the human spirit. This charismatic quartet’s energy and warmth pull audiences in, enthrall them, and return them home with opened hearts. Musically, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem are a melting pot of American folk melody and style. Gleefully drawing from a variety of traditions, they hang a Georgia Sea Islands song on a New Orleans groove. They sneak an Afro-Cuban groove under an Irish fiddle tune. Leonard Cohen gets clawhammer banjo; Springsteen gets bluegrass harmonies; and their own eclectic originals — about spirituality, cancer, red-haired boys, love, midlife and more — fit in seamlessly with the classics. Join us for an incredible evening of first-rate entertainment as you rewire your musical spirit with infectious humor and virtuoso playing. www.raniarbo.com This project is made possible in part by a grant from WESTAF, the Western Arts Federation, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

M.J. Wilde has been a performer all her life, but it is jazz that is her love and has always been her passion. She was introduced to all the great jazz performers by her musical parents. At the age of six, M.J. began to teach herself how to sing and scat by imitating singers and musicians. She then took up playing jazz flute at the age of ten. Recently featured on "The Ellen Show," M.J. has been a journalist, a nationally recognized humor columnist, a writer, a songwriter, and a highly respected voice talent for radio, television commercials, and audio books. An actor once recommended to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, she has always found a way to perform at night no matter what her day job. M.J. is a respected jazz singer and performer throughout New Mexico and has now formed her own trio, Wicked Wilde, with guitarist Ben Martinez and bassist Dave Friedlander. wildviewyonder.weebly.com

Barrage is back to Clovis...with a twist! Barrage 8 is the latest project from the original creators of the hit show Barrage. Utilizing the same energy, confidence, and innovative stage performance that Barrage was known for, Barrage 8 features all the instruments in the modern string family. The "8" in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: 4 violins, 2 violas, cello, and double bass. This new instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sound that further explores the musical diversity in their compositions and arrangements. Barrage 8 presents what the Barrage name has come to represent worldwide - a memorable presentation of music, from many genres and cascading generations, delivered in a way not seen or heard before. The young, hip cast delivers the show with amazing energy and musical virtuosity that will take your breath away. With phenomenal LED wall and green screen technology incorporated throughout the show, it will be as dazzling visually as it will be musically! www.barrage8.com
