3:00–3:30 p.m. Wellness Come to this session to unwind and learn some practical mindfulness and meditation tools to build resilience, strength, and ease for the year ahead. Led by Yael Shy (yaelshy.com), founder of Mindful NYU, the largest campus-based meditation initiative in the country, author of the award-winning book What Now? Meditation for Your Twenties and Beyond (Parallax, 2017), and meditation teacher for individuals and collectives around the globe. Yael has her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and her B.A. from New York University.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 8:15–9:30 a.m. Academic Integrity For international students As a member of the Law School, you are held to the highest standards of academic integrity and professionalism. In this interactive session, you will listen to a recording of Professors Barbara Schatz and Michael Gerrard as they detail what those standards are. You will also work in small groups with a live facilitator to examine a hypothetical and provide advice to a student who has engaged in questionable behavior.
9:45–10:15 a.m. Sexual Violence Response In this interactive session with Sexual Violence Response staff and volunteers, you will learn about programs and policies for preventing sexual violence, the dynamics and realities of sexual assault, what it means to be a prosocial bystander, effective strategies for bystander intervention, and resources and services for someone who is affected by violence.
10:15– 11:15 a.m.

In small groups, you will have the opportunity to listen to 2Ls and 3Ls share their experiences as Columbia Law School students.
