EDITORIAL 2018/19

El nuevo Club de Mar y lo que va a aportar a la gente de la ciudad Este año se inician las obras de lo que va a ser un antes y un después en la ciudad de Palma. Un proyecto de reforma que hará que Club de Mar-Mallorca ya no sea un espacio reservado para unos cuantos privilegiados, sino que todos los ciudadanos podremos disfrutarlo con sus nuevas tiendas, escuelas deportivas, cafeterías, restaurantes, y un sinfín de nuevas actividades para toda la familia. Nuestra revista cumple 28 años y qué mejor forma de celebrarlo que con una gran noticia como esta. Las obras comenzarán este octubre y está previsto que finalicen en 2022, desde el año 1972 no se reformanban las instalaciones y convertirán a este Club en uno de los mejores clubes náuticos de Europa. Sin duda esto es un gran avance para todos, estoy muy orgullosa de poder ver desde muy cerca cada paso hacia adelante que esta gran institución aporta en la náutica y a la sociedad mallorquina. Desde el grupo editorial 2quilos seguimos arriesgando con nuestra propuesta, y creemos que el deporte, la náutica y el lifestyle se deben arraigar a la Revista Club de Mar-Mallorca y a esta gran ciudad, de la que cada día hay más enamorados. El crecimiento y el factor sorpresa es algo que no debemos perder nunca.

[MAGAZINE 28 YEARS] The new Club de Mar and what it will bring to the city This year work begins on what marks a new beginning in the city of Palma. A renovation project that will transform Club de Mar-Mallorca from a space reserved for the privileged few, to one which all of us can enjoy. There will be new shops, sports schools, cafes, restaurants, and a host of new activities for the whole family. As our magazine turns 28, what better way to celebrate than with this exciting news. The works will begin this October and are scheduled to end in 2022. Renovations to the facilities have not been made since 1972, and these new developments will turn this Club into one of the best nautical clubs in Europe. This is without a doubt a great breakthrough for everyone and something I am proud to be able to watch from up close. Every step forward for this organisation, is also a step forward for the world of sailing and for Mallorcan society as a whole. Since we started our editorial group 2quilos, we’ve continued to take on a daring approach as we believe that sailing and the lifestyle that goes with it should be an intrinsic part of both the Club de Mar Magazine and this great city, which more people are falling in love with every day. Evolution as well as an element of surprise are two things that we should never let go of.

Der neue Club de Mar und welchen Beitrag er für die Stadtbewohner leisten wird In diesem Jahr beginnen die Bauarbeiten, die Palma in neuem Glanz erstrahlen lassen werden. Ein Sanierungsprojekt, das den Club de Mar Mallorca nicht mehr nur einen Ort für einige wenige Privilegierte sein lässt, sondern das Ziel verfolgt, dass jeder etwas von den neuen Geschäften, Sportschulen, Cafés, Restaurants und den vielen neuen Aktivitäten für die ganze Familie hat. Unsere Zeitschrift wird 28 Jahre alt und wie könnte das besser gefeiert werden, als mit so einer großartigen Nachricht wie dieser. Die Bauarbeiten beginnen im Oktober dieses Jahres und werden voraussichtlich bis 2022 abgeschlossen. Da die Einrichtungen des Clubs seit 1972 nicht mehr renoviert wurden, wird sich der Club nun in einen der besten Yachtclubs Europas verwandeln. Zweifellos stellt dies einen großen Fortschritt für alle Mitglieder des Clubs dar. Ich bin stolz, jeden Schritt, den diese großartige Institution in der Nautik nach vorne macht, aus nächster Nähe beobachten zu dürfen. Wie die Verlagsgruppe 2Quilos, glauben auch wir, dass sich die Nautik und der Lebensstil nicht nur in der Zeitschrift Club de Mar, sondern auch in dieser großartigen Stadt, die täglich mehr Menschen in ihren Bann zieht, verwurzeln müssen. Dieses Wachstum und den Wow-Faktor dürfen wir niemals verlieren.

AÑOS DE TRABAJO E ILUSIÓN En los próximos tres años el Club de Mar Mallorca afrontará el mayor proceso de transformación desde su inauguración en 1972. Tras la aprobación del plan de reforma por parte de las autoridades competentes, el cual nos permite conservar la concesión del espacio donde se ubican nuestras instalaciones hasta 2044, ha llegado el momento de colocar la primera piedra de un proyecto que nos convertirá en una de las referencias indiscutibles de la náutica europea. Hemos sido ambiciosos en la planificación de nuestro futuro y somos conscientes de que hemos asumido un gran responsabilidad con nuestros socios y usuarios, y con la ciudad que nos acoge. Hemos ideado un club de ensueño porque tenemos la experiencia, la determinación y la ilusión necesarias para convertirlo en realidad. Vienen años de muchísimo trabajo, pero nada nos motiva más que la exigencia de la tarea que tenemos por delante. Nuestra previsión es comenzar las obras en el próximo mes de octubre y concluirlas a finales de 2022. Las hemos dividido en cuatro fases para poder seguir atendiendo la gestión diaria del puerto y realizando el traslado progresivo de los servicios y el personal a las nuevas instalaciones. Esta planificación está pensada también para causar la menor molestia a los socios, que podrán empezar a disfrutar paulatinamente de las mejoras que conlleva el nuevo proyecto a partir de la finalización de las obras del parking y hasta la definitiva transformación del Club de Mar en el puerto deportivo más espectacular y mejor integrado en el paisaje urbano del Mediterráneo.

[MAGAZINE 28 YEARS] Years of work and enthusiasm Over the next three years, Club de Mar Mallorca will face the biggest transformation process since its launch in 1972. After the approval of the reformation programme by relevant authorities, which grants us possession of the locations of our current facilities until 2044, the time has come to lay the groundwork for a project that will make us one of the best-known names in European sailing. We have been ambitious in planning our future and we are aware that we have taken on a great responsibility with regard to our guests and members, as well as to our hometown. We have designed a dream club because we have the experience, the determination and the enthusiasm necessary to make it a reality. There are years of hard work ahead, but nothing motivates us more than the demanding task that lies before us. Our forecast is to begin work next October and finish by the end of 2022. We have divided the project into four phases in order to be able to continue dealing with the day to day running of the port, as well as make the gradual move of our services and personal to the new facilities. The programme is also designed to cause as little inconvenience as possible to our members, who will be able to enjoy the improvements provided by our new project gradually, as soon as the works on the car park are completed and until the final transformations of Club de Mar; the new spectacular marina, integrated into the urban landscape of the Mediterranean.

Jahrelange Arbeit und Freude In den kommenden drei Jahren wird der Club de Mar erstmals seit seiner Eröffnung im Jahr 1972 einem grundlegenden Veränderungsprozess unterzogen werden. Nachdem der Sanierungsplan, der es uns ermöglicht, die Genehmigung für die Fläche, auf der sich unsere Einrichtungen befinden bis 2044 zu verlängern, durch die zuständigen Behörden bewilligt wurde, ist nun der Moment gekommen, den Grundstein für ein Projekt zu legen, dass einen Referenzpunkt für die europäische Nautik darstellen wird. Bei unserer Zukunftsplanung sind wir sehr ambitioniert vorgegangen. Wir sind uns darüber bewusst, dass wir mit unseren Mitgliedern und Gästen sowie der Stadt, die uns aufnimmt, eine große Verantwortung übernommen haben. Wir haben einen Club der Träume entworfen, da wir über die nötige Erfahrung, Entschlossenheit und Freude verfügen um diesen Traum schlussendlich in die Realität umzusetzen. Es kommen einige arbeitsreiche Jahre auf uns zu, doch nichts motiviert uns mehr als die Aufgabe, die vor uns liegt, zu erfüllen. Unsere Planung sieht es vor, die Bauarbeiten kommenden Oktober zu beginnen und bis Ende 2022 abzuschließen. Die Bauarbeiten wurden in vier Bauphasen unterteilt, damit das Tagesgeschäft am Hafen normal weiterlaufen und die schrittweise Verlegung der Dienstleistungen sowie des Personals auf die neuen Einrichtungen erfolgen kann. Durch diese Planung sollen auch die Unannehmlichkeiten für die Mitglieder stark in Grenzen gehalten werden. Diese können sich nach und nach an den Verbesserungen erfreuen, die das neue Projekt von der Fertigstellung der Parkgarage bis hin zur endgültigen Verwandlung des Clubs in den spektakulärsten und am besten in das Stadtbild integrierten Yachthafen des Mittelmeerraumes, mit sich bringt.

SOSTENIBILIDAD E INTEGRACIÓN En el momento de planificar una instalación del tipo que sea hay que colocar al frente de las prioridades su sostenibilidad. Se trata de un deber del promotor que hoy en día viene dado por el elevado grado de conciencia medioambiental de la sociedad. La construcción de un edificio social sostenible e integrado fue uno de los grandes retos del proyecto de renovación del Club de Mar Mallorca, cuyas obras de construcción se iniciarán, si la tramitación de licencias sigue su curso normal, a finales de este año. Nuestra nueva sede será, probablemente, el edificio energéticamente más eficiente de la ciudad de Palma, algo de lo que que todos los socios de la entidad y quienes trabajamos en ella debemos sentirnos orgullosos. La apuesta por la energía fotovoltaica y el reciclaje, tanto en el edificio como en los muelles, permitirán reducir de manera drástica el impacto de nuestra actividad sobre el entorno. El Club de Mar reutilizará sus aguas residuales en el mantenimiento de las zonas verdes y los jardines verticales de sus fachadas, gracias a lo cual se evitarán los vertidos que impactan negativamente sobre los ecosistemas marinos. También será el primer puerto deportivo de Baleares en disponer de depósitos de aguas usadas en todos sus puestos de amarre, otra prueba de hasta qué punto la conservación del medio ambiente forma parte de un compromiso social que en nuestro caso se apoya, además, en la inculcación de estos valores entre los jóvenes deportistas que integran los equipos de regata.

[MAGAZINE 28 YEARS] Sustainability and integration When planning a facility of any kind, sustainability should be at the top of the list of priorities. Nowadays, it is the developer’s duty to have the highest standards when it comes to environmental awareness in society. The construction of a sustainable and integrated Club House was one of the main objectives for the Club de Mar Mallorca’s renovation project, for which the construction will begin later this year, assuming the permit process goes as hoped. Our new headquarters will probably be the most energy efficient building in the whole of Palma, something that every member and associate of the club should feel proud of. The commitment to photovoltaic energy and recycling, in both the building and the docks, will drastically reduce the impact that our activity has on the environment. Club de Mar will reuse its wastewater in the upkeep of its green areas and the vertical gardens on its facades, avoiding any chemical run-off into marine ecosystems. It will also be the first marina in the Balearic Islands to have water tanks at all its mooring posts. These are just some of the ways in which we prove our commitment to saving the environment, and the values we instil into the young athletes that make up the racing teams.

Nachhaltigkeit und Integration Bei der Planung jeder Art von Einrichtung, muss die Nachhaltigkeit oberste Priorität haben. Es handelt sich um eine Pflicht, die dem Bauträger heutzutage aufgrund des hohen Maßes an Umweltbewusstsein der Gesellschaft entsteht. Der Bau eines nachhaltigen und integrierten Sozialgebäudes stellte eine der großen Herausforderungen des Sanierungsprojekts dar, dem sich der Club de Mar Mallorca stellen musste. Wenn die Bearbeitung der Genehmigungen seinen normalen Lauf nimmt, dann werden die Bauarbeiten noch Ende dieses Jahres beginnen. Unser neues Vereinshaus wird höchstwahrscheinloch das energieeffizienteste Gebäude der Stadt Palma werden. Das sollte sowohl alle Mitglieder der Vereinigung als auch die Mitarbeiter sehr stolz machen. Durch den Einsatz photovoltaischer Energie und Recycling sowohl im Gebäude, als auch im Yachthafen, können sich die Auswirkungen unserer Aktivitäten auf die Umwelt drastisch reduzieren. Der Club de Mar wird sein Abwasser zur Bewässerung der Grünflächen und der vertikalen Gärten an den Fassaden wiederverwenden. Dadurch kann sich das Abwasser nicht mehr negativ auf das Meeresökosystem auswirken. Der Club de Mar wird außerdem der erste Yachthafen der Balearen sein, der auf allen seinen Liegeplätzen über mit Abwasser gefüllten Wassertanks verfügen wird. Damit soll gezeigt werden, bis zu welchem Punkt der Umweltschutz Teil des sozialen Engagements ist, das wir unterstützen. Diese Werte wollen wir natürlich auch den jungen Sportlern der Regattateams vermitteln.

El Club de Mar Mallorca verá radicalmente modificado su aspecto actual en un plazo de cuatro años. Este es el tiempo que la entidad se ha dado para desarrollar el proyecto de reforma e inversión con el que ha obtenido la ampliación de su concesión hasta 2044.

Club de Mar Mallorca will see radical modifications on its current complex over the next four years. This is the time that the organisation has been given for the investment and development project, along with its concession extended until 2044. The biggest changes will be seen in the Club House, which was built in 1972 and will be demolished to give way to a new and modern building based on the principles of integration with the landscape and energy efficiency. The port area will also undergo significant improvements. The work will be divided into four phases.

Innerhalb der kommenden vier Jahre wird sich der Club de Mar Mallorca grundlegend verändern. Innerhalb dieses Zeitraums soll das Sanierungsund Investitionsprojekt, durch das eine Verlängerung der Bewilligung bis 2044 erreicht wurde, abgewickelt werden. Die größten Veränderungen werden beim im Jahre 1972 erbauten Sozialgebäude zu sehen sein, das niedergerissen wird um Platz für ein neues und moderneres Gebäude basierend auf den Prinzipien der landschaftlichen Integrierung und Energieeffizienz zu bieten. Der Hafenbereich wird ebenfalls wichtigen Verbesserungen unterliegen. Die Bauarbeiten werden in vier Bauphasen aufgeteilt werden.

Los mayores cambios se verán en el edificio social, construido en 1972, y que será derribado para dar lugar a un nuevo y moderno edificio basado en los principios de integración paisajística y eficiencia energética. La zona portuaria también será objeto de importantes mejoras. La obra se dividirá en cuatro fases.

La primera fase de la reforma está prevista para el último trimestre del presente año. Comenzará el 1 de octubre y se prolongará hasta el 31 de mayo de 2019. José Luis Arrom, director del club, señala que el inicio de la obra dependerá de la tramitación de los permisos, si bien confía en que se cumpla ese primer plazo. En este periodo se llevará a cabo la ampliación de los muelles 7 y 8, así como el derribo del antiguo edificio del parking y su sustitución por uno nuevo y más moderno. La zona de influencia de los trabajos de demolición y construcción estará situada junto a la entrada principal del club y no afectará a los servicios que se prestan en el actual edificio social. El nuevo aparcamiento entrará en servicio a principios de verano del año que viene, en que se detendrán las obras hasta el otoño. The first phase of the reform is scheduled for the final quarter of this year. It will begin on 1 October and continue until 31 May 2019. José Luis Arrom, Club director, has pointed out that the works are still waiting for the permits to finish being processed, although he is confident that the first deadline will be met. This first period will see the expansion of docks 7 and 8, as well as the demolition of the old parking building and the construction of its modern replacement. The area next to the club’s main entrance may experience some disturbance, but the current Club House and its running should go unaffected. The new carpark will begin being used at the beginning of summer next year and the work will stop until autumn. José Luis Arrom, Direktor des Clubs, weist darauf hin, dass der Beginn der Bauarbeiten davon abhängt, wie schnell die nötigen Genehmigungen eingeholt werden können, wenngleich er schon darauf vertraut, dass diese erste Frist eingehalten werden kann. Während der ersten Bauphase werden die Liegeplätze 7 und 8 vergrößert und die alte Parkgarage niedergerissen, um durch eine neue und modernere ersetzt zu werden. Die Abrissund Bauarbeiten werden neben dem Haupteingang des Clubs stattfinden und werden keine Auswirkungen auf die im derzeitigen Sozialgebäude angebotenen Dienstleitungen haben. Die neue Parkgarage wird Anfang Sommer des kommenden Jahres, in dem die Bauarbeiten bis zum Herbst unterbrochen werden, in Betrieb gehen.

Las fases más importantes de la renovación del Club de Mar Mallorca comenzarán en octubre de 2019. Las obras de demolición de los edificios industrial y social se prolongarán durante el periodo comprendido entre el otoño del año que viene y la primavera de 2020.

The most important phases of Club de Mar Mallorca’s redevelopment will begin in October 2019. The demolition of the industrial building and Club House will last from the autumn of next year until the spring of 2020.

En este tiempo se derribarán el actual hangar industrial y el inmueble que acoge el restaurante, las salas de socios, la discoteca y la sala de conferencias.

During this time the current industrial hangar and the restaurant, members lounge, nightclub and conference room building will be demolished.

Die im Zuge der Sanierung des Club de Mar Mallorca wichtigsten Bauphasen werden im Oktober 2019 beginnen. Die Abrissarbeiten des Sozial- und Industriegebäudes werden im Zeitraum von Herbst des kommenden Jahres bis Frühling 2020 andauern. Während dieses Zeitraums wird der derzeitige Industriehangar sowie das Gebäude, in dem sich das Restaurant, die Aufenthaltsräume, die Diskothek und der Konferenzraum befindet, niedergerissen.

A continuación, ya en la fase 3, se levantará la parte del nuevo edificio que ocupan actualmente las zonas citadas. A partir del mes de octubre de 2020 empezará a cobrar forma el nuevo Club de Mar, con sus espacios abiertos, zonas ajardinadas y pasarelas. Las recreaciones por ordenador de la obra se convertirán en realidad, salvo en el espacio de las oficinas, antes de mayo de 2021. Paralelamente se realizará el acondicionamiento de parte de los muelles y pantalanes.

Then, in phase 3 the part of the rebuild to house these services will be built. Commencing in October 2020, the new Club de Mar will begin to take shape, with its open spaces, landscaped areas and walkways. The designs will be becoming a reality by May 2021, all except the office spaces. The refurbishment of the docks and pontoons will be taking place at the same time.

Anschließend wird in der dritten Bauphase jener Teil des neuen Gebäudes errichtet, in dem sich die oben genannten Bereiche befinden. Im Oktober 2020 wird der neue Club de Mar beginnen mit seinen Freiflächen, Grünanlagen und Stegen, Form anzunehmen. Die bisher nur am Computer zu sehenden Veränderungen werden bis auf in den Büroräumlichkeiten noch vor Mai 2021 Realität. Gleichzeitig dazu, wird ein Teil der Liegeplätze und Stege umgebaut.

Al igual que en las fases anteriores, las obras finales se pospondrán durante el verano de 2021, con el fin de garantizar los servicios que el Club de Mar Mallorca presta durante la temporada alta. El último edificio en ser derribado será el de las actuales oficinas, el cual pasará a estar integrado en el conjunto arquitectónico al mismo tiempo que se concluyen las obras del puerto y se acondicionan todas las zonas comunes.

As with the previous phases, the final works will pause over the summer of 2021, in order to guarantee undisrupted services during the high season. The last building to be demolished will be the current offices, which will be integrated into the architectural complex at the same time as the port works and common areas are completed.

En este punto ya habrán quedado totalmente definidas las áreas del gimnasio, el spa y las salas de descanso, así como el restaurante y la piscina climatizada, que se podrá utilizar todos los días del año y conservará su aspecto actual. En el mes de mayo de 2022 el Club de Mar Mallorca ya estará preparado para celebrar la inauguración de sus flamantes instalaciones.

At this point, the gym areas, spa and relaxation rooms will be operational, as will the restaurant and heated pool, which is open for use all year and will hold its present shape. In May 2022, the Club de Mar Mallorca will be ready to celebrate the inauguration of its brandnew facilities.

Wie auch in den vorangegangenen Bauphasen werden die finalen Bauarbeiten auch im Sommer 2021 unterbrochen, damit der Club de Mar während der Hochsaison seine Dienstleistungen anbieten kann. Bei dem Gebäude, das als letztes niedergerissen wird, handelt es sich um das Bürogebäude. Dieses wird dann in den Architekturkomplex integriert, wenn die Bauarbeiten am Hafen abgeschlossen und alle Gemeinschaftsbereiche umgebaut sind. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt werden die Fitnessbereiche, der Spa und die Pausenräume sowie das Restaurant und das beheizte Schwimmbad, das täglich genutzt werden kann und sein derzeitiges Erscheinungsbild behalten wird, bereits fertig gestellt sein. Im Mai 2022 kann der Club de Mar dann die Einweihung seiner nagelneuen Einrichtungen feiern.

The new Club de Mar building will be one of the most unique in the whole of Palma, and stand as an epitome of energy efficiency promoting modern architecture. The air conditioning within the facility will be linked to its facades and garden roofs, making the most of sustainable energy sources, like photovoltaic. “There will be solar panels on all the buildings and all wastewater will be purified for irrigating the green areas.

El pasado viernes 16 de junio a las 21.30h tenía lugar la Presentación de la Revista Club de Mar 2017/18 y el Opening de su terraza. Más de 700 personas asistieron a este evento que se ha convertido en uno de los más importantes del verano. Pudimos disfrutar de la música en directo del grupo The Alp Collective, del saxofonista Toni Ríos, catering, copas y mojitos durante toda la noche. Los mástiles de los veleros de fondo hicieron de este evento un momento mágico.

Last Friday, 16 June at 9.30pm, saw the presentation for the Club de Mar 2017/18 Magazine and the grand opening of its terrace. More than 700 people were in attendance to one of the most important events of the summer, where we enjoyed live music by The Alp Collective and saxophonist, Toni Ríos. The catering and mojitos were accompanied by a backdrop of sailing masts, transforming this event into a magical moment.

Am vergangenen Freitag, den 16. Juni um 21:30 Uhr, fand die Präsentation der Zeitschrift Club de Mar 2017/18 sowie die Eröffnung der Terrasse des Clubs statt. Mehr als 700 Personen besuchten diese Veranstaltung, die mittlerweile eine der wichtigsten Sommer-Veranstaltungen darstellt. Man konnte sich über Live-Musik der Gruppe The Alp Collective erfreuen sowie den Klängen des Saxophonisten Toni Ríos lauschen. Die Yachten im Hintergrund boten die perfekte Kulisse, die diese Veranstaltung zu einem magischen Abend machte.

Como si de una obra de arte se tratara, el modelo Birkin de la marca de lujo francesa Hermès fue subastado por la casa Christie’s. Su comprador, de momento anónimo, consiguió hacerse con el bolso al elevar su valor de 258.000 dólares y convertirlo en 380.000 (340.000 euros) en tan sólo quince minutos mediante una puja telefónica.

Like a piece of art work, the Birkin bag, from French luxury brand Hermès, was auctioned off at Christie’s. Its buyer, who has remained anonymous, got hold of the bag by raising its value from $258,000 to $380,000 (340,000 euros) during the auction in just fifteen minutes via a telephone bid.

Als würde es sich um ein Kunstwerk handeln, wurde das Birkin-Modell der französischen Luxusmarke Hermès bei einer Auktion von Christie’s versteigert. Dem anonymen Käufer gelang es somit, den Wert der Handtasche in nur fünfzehn Minuten mittels eines telefonischen Gebots von 258 000 auf 380 000 Dollar (340 000 Euro) zu erhöhen.

Esta pieza creada en el año 2014, está compuesta por piel de codrilo, 205 diamantes en sus asas y 18 quilates en sus hebillas de oro que la convierten en toda una joya. El modelo Birkin de Hermès es uno de los bolsos más codiciados del mundo y para poder comprarlo tienes que pasar primero por una larga lista de espera.

The bag, created in 2014, is made from crocodile skin, and has straps covered in 205 diamonds, as well as clasps made from 18 carat gold, making it a rare and valuable treasure. The Birkin bag by Hermès is one of the most sought-after handbags in the world and anyone interested in purchasing it has to join a long waiting list before being able to buy it.

Recently opened for the Mediterranean summer season is the Club de Mar, who proudly welcome some of the most exclusive and iconic ships to sail the sea.

Gallego de nacimiento, ¿qué lugares con encanto nos recomendarías de tu ciudad? Sin ninguna duda mi pueblo natal, Betanzos. Es un parada obligada para pasear por su callejas y probar la tortilla de patatas. ¿Qué recuerdo más divertido tienes de cuando estuviste estudiando en EEUU? Tengo muy buen recuerdo de toda mi estancia allí, pero yo creo que los primeros días, nada más llegar, todo era nuevo y me llamaba la atención todo. ¿Quien ha sido siempre tu mayor inspiración? Mi madre, ella dirigió un negocio textil muy grande, tenia a muchas modistas trabajando para ella.

As someone born in Galicia, what charming places would you recommend we visit from your hometown? Betanzos, the village I was born in, is unmissable. Wandering its backstreets and trying the Spanish tortilla are a must.

What’s your best memory from your time studying in the U.S.? I have great memories from my whole stay, but I think that the first days were the best, as soon as I arrived, everything was so new to me, everything stood out. Who’s been your biggest inspiration? My mother, she managed a big textile business and had lots of designers working for her.

Du wurdest in Galicien geboren. Welche Orte mit besonderem Charme würdest du uns in deiner Heimatstadt empfehlen? Ohne Zweifel meine Geburtsstadt, Betanzos. Dort muss man unbedingt die kleinen Gässchen entlang schlendern und eine spanische Tortilla probieren.

Was ist deine lustigste Erinnerung an deine Studienzeit in den USA? Ich erinnere mich an meinen gesamten Aufenthalt in den USA sehr gut. Aber ich denke, in den ersten Tagen, also kurz nachdem ich angekommen war, war dort alles ganz neu für mich und mir ist einfach alles ins Auge gestochen. Wer stellte für dich immer die größte Inspiration dar? Meine Mutter. Sie leitete ein sehr großes Textilgeschäft und hatte daher immer viele Schneiderinnen für sich arbeiten.

¿En qué momento decidiste crear tu propia firma? Mucha gente me animaba a ello, y gracias a la ayuda de mis padres pude crear mi primera colección y fue un exitazo. ¿Qué tal fue tu experiencia de trabajar con Angel Schlesser? Fabulosa, aprendi mucho de cómo se desarrolla una colección comercial y cómo llevar a cabo la logística de la producción. Un color y un tejido que para ti son indispensables… Rosa pocho y un crepe de seda. Cuéntanos una experiencia anecdótica en alguno de tus desfiles. Recuerdo que hace unas temporadas en el desfile que hice en la azotea del centro Financiero de Colón, los zapatos llegaron 10 minutos antes de que empezara el desfile, no he pasado tanto estrés nunca. Al final todo salió bien y nadie notó nada pero el backstage fue un hervidero. ¿Qué nuevos proyectos tienes ahora en marcha? La apertura de mi nueva tienda en Bilbao, recientemente abierta.

At what point did you decide to create your own brand? Lots of people were encouraging me to do it and thanks to the help of my parents, I could create my first collection which was a hit.

What was it like working with Angel Schlesser? Fabulous, I learnt lots about developing a commercial collection, and how to carry out all the logistics of production. A must have colour and fabric…. Faded pink and silk crepe.

Tell us a story about one of your fashion shows. I remember a while back, on a show I did on the rooftop of the Centro Financiero de Colón, the shoes arrived 10 minutes before the show was due to start, I’ve never felt so stressed before. In the end, everything turned out well and no one noticed, but backstage was a mad frenzy.

Wann hast du dich dazu entschieden, deinen eigenen Stil zu entwerfen? Ganz viele Menschen haben mich immer dazu animiert, dies zu tun. Und dank der Hilfe meiner Eltern konnte ich dann schließlich meine erste Kollektion entwerfen, die ein Riesenerfolg war.

Wie gestaltete sich deine Zusammenarbeit mit Angel Schlesser? Fabelhaft. Ich konnte viel dazulernen, zum Beispiel, wie man eine kommerzielle Kollektion entwickelt und wie man die Logistik bei der Produktion am besten abwickelt. Eine Farbe und ein Stoff, die unerlässlich sind... Ein mattes rosa und ein Seidenkrepp.

Erzähl uns eine Anekdote aus einer deiner Modenschauen. Ich erinnere mich, dass bei einer meiner Modenschauen, die vor ein paar Saisonen auf der Dachterrasse des Centro Financiero de Colón stattfand, die Schuhe erst 10 Minuten vor Beginn der Modenschau eintrafen. Ich war noch nie zuvor in meinem Leben so gestresst. Am Ende ist alles gut ausgegangen und niemand hatte etwas bemerkt, aber im Backstage-Bereich herrschte die ganze Zeit große Aufregung. An welchen neuen Projekten arbeitest du momentan? An der Eröffnung meines neuen Geschäfts in Bilbao.

¿Cuál es tu prenda favorita para ellas? Una blazer especial. Algo que no puede faltar en tu armario. Una camisa blanca, tengo muchísimas. ¿Cómo surgió la idea de montar una tienda de tu firma en Palma de Mallorca? Palma de Mallorca es un ciudad que siempre me ha encantado, tenia muchas ganas de tener punto de venta allí ya que es un destino elegido por mucho público tanto nacional como internacional y siempre he creído que podría gustar mi marca a todo ese público. ¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de nuestra isla? Sus gentes y los rinconcitos de ensueño que hay por toda la isla que son verdaderas joyas. Uno de tus lugares favoritos de Mallorca que recomendarías a nuestros lectores. La Tramuntana siempre me ha parecido un lugar mágico, sobrecogedor de la belleza que tiene.

What new projects have you got on the go right now? The launch of my new store in Bilbao, just opened. What’s your favourite item of clothing for women? A distinctive blazer. An essential item in your wardrobe A white shirt, I have tons of them.

How did the idea for your brand to set up a store in Palma de Mallorca come about? I’ve always loved Palma de Mallorca as a city, I really wanted to have an outlet there, as it’s the chosen destination of both an international and national public, the sort of public who I think would appreciate my brand. What do you like most about our island? Its people and the small idyllic spots all over the island, which are true gems.

Tell us one of your favourite places in Mallorca, that you’d like to recommend to our readers. La Traumuntana has always been a magical place for me, its beauty is overwhelming.

An welchen neuen Projekten arbeitest du momentan? An der Eröffnung meines neuen Geschäfts in Bilbao. Welches ist dein Lieblingskleidungsstück für Damen? Ein besonderer Blazer.

Etwas, das in deinem Kleiderschrank nicht fehlen darf? Ein weißes Hemd. Ich besitze sehr viele davon.

Wie bist du auf die Idee gekommen, ein Geschäft mit deiner Marke auf Palma de Mallorca zu eröffnen? Palma de Mallorca ist eine Stadt, die ich schon immer sehr gemocht habe. Aus diesem Grund wollte ich auch dort eine Verkaufsstelle eröffnen, zumal Palma ja auch das Ziel sowohl eines nationalen, als auch internationalen Publikums ist. Und ich habe mir schon immer gedacht, dass meine Marke diesem Publikum gefallen könnte. Was magst du denn auf unserer Insel am liebsten? Die Menschen und die traumhaften Plätze, die es auf der ganzen Insel gibt und bei denen es sich um wahrhaftige Schmuckstücke handelt. Welchen deiner Lieblingsorte auf Mallorca würdest du unseren Lesern empfehlen? Aufgrund ihrer umwerfenden Schönheit war die Serra de Tramontana immer ein besonders magischer Ort für mich.

CALA DEIÀ by Clara López Photos DP Cala Deià es una cala de piedras situada cerca del pueblo de Deià. Es un lugar idílico y muy turístico. Hay una zona en las rocas con escalera desde la que se tiran al mar los más valientes. Es una cala preciosa con increíbles vistas, pero incómoda por no disponer de arena, a tener en cuenta.

Cala Deiá is a rocky cove found near the village of Deiá, an idyllic place and popular with tourists. Within the rocks there is a staircase from which those brave enough jump into the sea. This is a beautiful cove with incredible views, but be prepared for uncomfortable seating as there is no sand.

Cala Deià ist eine Felsenbucht in der Nähe von Deià. Es ist ein sehr idyllischer und touristischer Ort. An einer Stelle mitten in den Felsen befindet sich eine Treppe, von welcher aus die Mutigsten ins Meer springen können. Es handelt sich um eine wunderschöne Bucht mit beeindruckender Aussicht, die jedoch über keinen Sandstrand verfügt.

A nivel internacional destacan sus apariciones junto a orquestas y coros de Italia, China, Canadá, Finlandia, Rusia, Alemania, etc. Próximos proyectos le llevarán a dirigir óperas y conciertos en el Teatro Real de Madrid, la Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, el Festival de la Riviera Maya en México, galas de ópera en Helsinki y Lisboa, óperas en Pekín, “La Traviata” junto a Ainhoa Arteta, etc. y confirman a José María Moreno como uno de nuestros artistas más internacionales.

Born in Mallorca, José María Moreno is considered one of the most prestigious conductors of his generation. He has studied in Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia and St. Petersburg. He currently directs the Capella Mallorquina, and was the Artistic and Musical Director at the Teatro Principal de Palma. He has directed the most important orchestras and choirs in Spain, in places such as the Liceu Barcelona, the Palau in Valencia, the Barcelona Auditorium, the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo and Cervantes in Malaga. Como ya es costumbre establecida, el Club de Mar celebró en diciembre la Gala del Deporte correspondiente a 2017, en el transcurso de la cual se entregaron reconocimientos y diplomas a los más destacado deportistas del Club, así como a personas y empresas que han colaborado especialmente con él.

In December 2017, Club de Mar held their traditional Sports Gala, where awards and certificates were presented to the club’s most outstanding athletes, as well as special mention to people and companies that have had any major collaboration with the club.

Wie es schon zur Tradition geworden ist, feierte der Club del Mar im Dezember die Sportgala für das Jahr 2017. Im Laufe des Abends wurden Auszeichnungen und Diplome an die herausragenden Sportler des Clubs verliehen, und auch an Privatpersonen und Unternehmen, die den Club auf besondere Art unterstützt haben.

Como explicó el Comodoro del Club en la presentación de la Gala, desde la puesta en marcha de la Escuela de Vela, en el año 2008, seguida por la de piragüismo un año más tarde, han pasado ya casi 4.000 alumnos por sus aulas e instalaciones.

As the Club Commodore explained in his presentation at the Gala, since the Sailing School began in 2008, followed by the Canoeing School the following year, almost 4,000 students have passed through its classrooms and facilities.

Wie der Kommodore des Clubs bei der Präsentation der Gala erklärte, sind seit der Eröffnung der Segelschule im Jahr 2008 und der Kanusport-Schule ein Jahr später, schon fast 4000 Schüler durch die Räume und Einrichtungen des Clubs gezogen.

The Club

El Presidente, por su parte, recalcó que la promoción del deporte náutico es un objetivo fundamental del Club y, para ello, se ha trabajado para poder contar con unas escuelas náuticas bien organizadas y con unos equipos de regatas que dieran cauce a la afición de nuestros alumnos más destacados. Así, durante 2017, se ha mantenido y aumentado la participación en competiciones y el protagonismo en las mismas de los deportistas del Club. El Presidente agradeció el esfuerzo de todos animándoles a seguir llevando el nombre del Club de Mar con el mismo entusiasmo y comportamiento ejemplar que hasta ahora. Por último, agradeció especialmente la colaboración de las empresas y profesionales premiados en el acto.

As well as teaching its students the technical knowledge, the club has always tried to instil in them the key values and tools necessary for their education and training, such as perseverance, the will to succeed, comradeship and sportsmanship. Finally, the Commodore wanted to thank his magnificent team of instructors for all their hard work and dedication to the club. During his speech, the Club President, stressed the importance of promoting nautical sports and how well-organised nautical schools and regatta teams, such as theirs, give opportunities to all outstanding students. Thus, during 2017, the prominence and participation from the club’s athletes has been maintained, and even increased, in competitions.

Club schon immer darauf geachtet, dass den Regattisten nicht nur die nötigen technischen Kenntnisse vermittelt werden, sondern auch die Werte, die den Sport als Erziehungs- und Bildungsinstrument auszeichnen, zum Beispiel die Konstanz, den Kampf- oder Verbesserungsgeist, die Kameradschaftlichkeit und das Fair Play. Zu guter Letzt sprach der Kommodore auch seinen Dank an das exzellente Trainerteam des Clubs für seine hingebungsvolle Arbeit aus. Der Präsident seinerseits betonte, dass die Förderung der Wassersportarten ein Hauptziel des Clubs darstellt, und dass weiterhin darauf hingearbeitet wird, über gut organisierte Wassersportschulen und gute Segelteams zu verfügen, um die Sportbegeisterung der vielversprechendsten Schüler des Clubs kanalisieren zu können.

El pasado noviembre tuvo lugar en Madrid la celebración del certamen enológico Premios Magnum 2017, un concurso internacional que tiene entre sus objetivos premiar a los vinos que se embotellan en formato Magnum.

In November last year, Madrid celebrated the 2017 Magnum Awards, an international oenology contest which awards prizes to wines in Magnum sized bottles, that is, bottles containing 1.5 litres of wine.

Han señalado que el formato Magnum es el más indicado para celebraciones en grupo debido a su volumen, y esto también se ha podido comprobar al ver el amplio número de bodegueros participantes que producen vinos espumosos, que suelen ser los vinos los elegidos para los brindis y festejos.

The event aims to promote drinking wine both socially and responsibly worldwide, with a bottle size that helps maintain and develop the tradition of sharing wine in a group. They state that Magnum is already the most popular size wine bottle for group celebrations due to its volume. Because of this, a large number of contestants were producers of sparkling wines, the top choice for celebrations and toasts.

Im vergangenen November fand in Madrid der Weinwettbewerb Premios Magnum 2017 statt, eine internationale Weinprämierung, deren Ziel darin besteht, diejenigen Weine auszuzeichnen, die im Magnum-Format abgefüllt werden, also Flaschen, die 1,5 l Wein enthalten, sowohl als auch den weltweiten, verantwortungsvollen Gruppen-Weinkonsum mit einem Flaschenformat zu fördern, das die Konservierung und die Entfaltung des Weins begünstigt. Dies konnte außerdem durch die große Anzahl an Kellermeistern bestätigt werden, die mit ihren Schaumweinen an der Prämierung teilnahmen. Diese Weine sind normalerweise diejenigen, die für solche Feiern und Umtrünke ausgewählt werden.

CALA GOSSALBA by Clara López Photos DP Cala en Gossalba es otro lugar digno de visitar. A 19 kilómetros de Port de Pollença, está situada entre Cala Murta, les Butzes y Morro del Pont, así como bajo la mirada de Puig de les Butzes (162 metros de altitud). Este entrante de mar bello, virgen y paradisíaco se caracteriza por tener forma de U, unas dimensiones reducidas, un talud en el que predominan los cantos rodados y las gravas, una orientación sureste-suroeste, así como por dar lugar a dos calitas al tocar tierra firme y por estar rodeada de montañas altas y de pinos. El acceso por carretera es sencillo hasta las cercanías de Cala Murta, donde se podrá estacionar de manera gratuita el vehículo particular. Desde allí se iniciará una expedición a pie, entre los acantilados y salvando desniveles considerables, de 2,5 kilómetros de distancia.

Cala en Gossalba is another place definitely worth visiting. It’s only 19 kilometres from Port de Pollença, and located between Cala Murta, Les Butzes and Morro del Pont, as well as being visible from Puig de les Butzes at 162 metres altitude. This beautifully pristine and paradisiac cove is known for its U shape, small dimensions, its boulder covered rocky embankment and southeast-southwest orientation, as well as having two smaller coves and being surrounded by tall mountains and pine trees. It’s easily accessible by car until the edge of Cala Murta, where you can park for free. From there you have to venture on foot, between cliffs and scaling inclines for about 2.5 kilometres.

Cala en Gossalba ist ebenfalls einen Besuch wert. Es befindet sich 19 Kilometer von Port de Pollença entfernt, liegt zwischen Cala Murta, les Butzes und Morro del Pont und wird vom Puig de les Butzes (162 Meter Höhe) bewacht. Dieser kleine aber wunderschöne Meereseinschnitt in „U“-Form ist unberührt und paradiesisch und sein Strand besteht hauptsächlich aus Kies und ist nach Südost-Südwest orientiert. Er bildet zwei kleine Buchten und ist von hohen Bergen und Pinien umgeben. Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto ist einfach, man folge der Beschilderung bis in die Nähe von Cala Murta, wo man sein Auto gratis parken darf. Von dort aus beginnt eine Fußexpedition von etwa 2,5 Kilometern Länge, zwischen Steilwänden und über beträchtliche Höhenunterschiede.

La serie fotográfica White Food Structure, que ya recibió una plata en la última edición de los LUX, ha sido premiada en Tokyo International Foto Awards 2017 en dos categorías: Bellas Artes-Bodegón y Publicidad- Gastronomía Tokyo International Foto Awards ha premiado la obra “White Food Structure” de Nando Esteva (Palma, 1979) con una plata y un bronce en dos categorías, Bellas Artes-Bodegón y Publicidad-Gastronomía, respectivamente. Además ha concedido menciones de honor a una de las fotografías de la colección “Food & Foot” y a su nuevo proyecto “Paint it black”.

The Tokyo International Foto Awards has awarded the work “White Food Structure”, by Nando Esteva (Palma, 1979), with a silver and bronze in two categories: Fine Art-Still Life and Gastronomy-Advertising, respectively. He also received honorary mentions for one of his photographs from the collection “Food & Foot”, as well as for his new project “Paint it black”.

Im Rahmen des Tokyo International Foto Awards wurde das Kunstwerk „White Food Structure“ von Nando Esteva (Palma, 1979) gleich in zwei Kategorien – Schöne Künste-Stillleben und Werbung für die Gastronomie – mit Silber und Bronze ausgezeichnet. Außerdem wurden eine seiner Fotografien aus der Kollektion „Food & Foot“ sowie sein neues Projekt „Paint it black“ geehrt.

En “White Food Structure”, que también recibió una plata en la última edición de los LUX, Nando Esteva propone un juego de sombras a partir de estructuras geométricas creadas con pasta de arroz y cuatro frutas y verduras: chirimoya, pera, alcachofa y romanescu. Todo pintado en blanco para obtener un resultado homogéneo. Nando Esteva aúna en esta colección dos de sus especialidades: gastronomía y arquitectura.

In “White Food Structure”, which also received a silver award from LUX, Nando Esteva presents a game of shadows, giving birth to geometric structures using rice paste with four fruits and vegetables: cherimoya, pear, artichoke and Romanesco broccoli. All painted in white to obtain a homogeneous result. Nando Esteva combines two of his specialties in this collection: gastronomy and architecture.

Mit dem Kunstwerk „White Food Structure“, das bereits bei der letzten Ausgabe der LUX mit Silber ausgezeichnet wurde, stellt Nando Esteva ein Schattenspiel dar, und zwar anhand von geometrischen Strukturen aus Reisnudeln sowie vier Früchten und Gemüse: Cherimoya, Birne, Artischocke und Romanesco. All das wurde mit weißer Farbe bemalt, um ein homogenes Ganzes zu erhalten. In dieser Kollektion vereint Nando Esteva zwei seiner Spezialitäten: die Gastronomie und die Architektur.

La alta gastronomía mallorquina mantiene su nivel en la nueva guía Michelin para España y Portugal. El número de las estrellas es igual que el año pasado, cuando la isla ganó 2 estrellas nuevas. Una de ellas fue destinada al restaurante Argos en Port de Pollença y la otra fue concedida al restaurante Adrián Quetglas en el centro de Palma.

Mallorcan haute cuisine upholds its reputation in the new Michelin guide for Spain and Portugal by being awarded the same number of stars as last year, when the island won 2 new stars. One of them was assigned to the Argos restaurant in Port de Pollença and the other to the Adrián Quetglas restaurant in the centre of Palma.

El Restaurante Zaranda, de Fernando P. Arellano, sigue siendo el único restaurante con dos estrellas Michelin en las Baleares.

Die mallorquinische Gourmetküche kann sein Niveau im neuen Guide Michelin für Spanien und Portugal halten. Die Anzahl der Sterne bleibt gleich wie im letzten Jahr, als die Insel 2 neue Sterne dazugewinnen konnte. Einen dieser Sterne erhielt das Restaurant Argos in Port de Pollença. El pasado 26 de abril la revista 3Q magazine realizó un evento privado para todo su equipo, colaboradores, protagonistas y clientes de su 11 edición en el hotel OD Portals de cinco estrellas. Fue una velada llena de risas y caras conocidas, un catering exquisito realizado por el mismo hotel y música a cargo del dj Al Varet. Todos los protagonistas pudieron descubrir en primicia la onceava portada de la revista que esta ocasión fue el ex torero Fran Rivera. Todo el equipo de 3Q magazine ya está trabajando en las próximas ediciones para que seguir sorprendiendo a todos sus lectores.

On 26 April, 3Q Magazine ran a private event for its team, collaborators, those featured and clients of the 11th edition, at the five-star OD Portals hotel. It was an evening full of laughs and familiar faces, exquisite catering provided by the hotel itself and music by DJ, Al Varet. Everyone was in attendance to find out who would make the front cover of the magazine’s 11th edition… Who turned out to be the former bullfighter, Fran Rivera. The entire 3Q team are already working hard on the next edition and preparing the new surprises for their readers.

¿Cuánto tiempo llevas en Mallorca? Hace 18 años. ¿Cómo llegaste a recalar en estas aguas del Mediterráneo? Vine de vacaciones, conocí al dueño de un Restaurante de Cala D’or y vine para trabajar en temporada. ¿Qué es lo que más destacas de la gastronomía balear? Sus pescados, la carne, los quesos, los orejones de Porreres, los vinos, la repostería, el pan moreno, los tomates de ramillete, etc.

How long ago did you come to Mallorca? Eighteen years ago. How did you come to settle in these Mediterranean waters? I came on holiday when I met the owner of a restaurant in Cala D’or, then I came back to work the season.

Wie lange lebst du schon auf Mallorca? Seit 18 Jahren. Wie kam es, dass du ausgerechnet diese Gewässer des Mittelmeers angesteuert hast? Als ich meinen Urlaub hier verbrachte, lernte ich den Besitzer eines Restaurants in Cala d’Or kennen und entschied mich zurückzukommen, um während der Saison hier zu arbeiten.

What stands out most about the Balearic gastronomy? Their fish, meat, cheeses, the dried apricots from Porreres, wines, pastries, brown bread, vine tomatoes, etc.

Wodurch hebt sich deiner Meinung nach die balearische Küche am meisten ab? Durch seine Fische, sein Fleisch, seine Käsesorten, seine getrockneten Aprikosen aus Porreres, seine Weine, seine Konditoreien, sein Schwarzbrot, seine Ramallet-Tomaten, etc.

Shared victory for the Cippino and the Corsaro The XXIII edition of the Illes Balears Clássics Regatta consolidated Club de Mar as one of the best organisers for major nautical events in Spain. LUIS POMAR Mariska (FI15), Corsaro II (Classics), Orion (RI Classics) and Cippinio (Vintage) won the XXIII Illes Balears Clássics Regatta, organised by Club de Mar Mallorca between the 16th and 19th of August 2017. The special prize for the absolute winner was shared for the first time in the regatta’s history between the Cippino and the Corsaro, given that both won the same number of first places in the same classes integrated by an identical number of boats (8). Forty-eight boats competed in the competition and contested against harsh winds on the last day, preventing the departure of the FI15 and the Lanteen Sail Llauts.

Doble victoria de Cippino y el Corsaro La XXIII edición de la Regata Illes Balears Clàssics consolidó al Club de Mar como uno de los mejores organizadores de grandes eventos náuticos de España LUIS POMAR Mariska (FI15), Corsaro II (Clásicos), Orion (RI Clásicos) y Cippinio (Época) se alzaron con la victoria en la XXIII Regata Illes Balears Clàssics, organizada por el Club de Mar Mallorca entres los días 16 y 19 de agosto de 2017. El premio especial al ganador absoluto lo compartieron, por primera vez en la historia de la regata, el Cippino y el Corsaro, dado que ambos consiguieron el mismo número de primeros puestos en sendas clases integradas por idéntico número de barcos (8). La competición reunió a 48 embarcaciones y estuvo marcada por la fuerte intensidad del viento en la última jornada, que impidió la salida de los FI 15 y los llaüts de vela latina.

El Mariska (1908) consiguió una victoria merecida gracias al pleno de triunfos registrado en las cuatro pruebas que se habían disputado antes de la suspensión de la jornada final de la clase FI15 por exceso de viento. En segunda posición terminó el The Lady Anne (1912), con tres segundos y un tercero en su casillero. El podio lo completó el que fuera barco de Alfonso XIII, el Hispania (1909). Cerró la clasificación el Tuiga (1909), buque insignia del Yacht Club Mónaco. Un año más, los FI15 fueron la gran atracción de la cita mallorquina. Son los últimos supervivientes de los “pura sangre” que protagonizaron la etapa dorada de las regatas de balandros a principios del siglo XX. La particularidad de estos barcos, además de su belleza, es que compiten en tiempo real, sin necesidad de fórmulas de compensación.

The Mariska (1908) earned a well-deserved victory thanks to its triumphs on the four previous tests before the final day was suspended due to excessive winds. The Lady Anne (1912) finished second with three seconds and a third place in its locker. The podium was completed by Alfonso XIII’s boat, the Hispania (1909). Tuiga (1909), the flagship of the Monaco Yacht Club, closed the classification.

Das Mariska (1908) konnte dank der Siege in den vier Proben, die vor der Absage der Abschlussrunde der Kategorie FI15 wegen zu starkem Windes bestritten wurden, verdient gewinnen. Als Zweitplatzierter ging die The Lady Anne (1912) hervor, mit 3,3 Sekunden Rückstand. Das Podium wurde durch die Hispania (1909) komplettiert, wobei es sich um jenes Boot handelt, das einst Alfonso XIII gehörte. Das Schlusslicht der Wertung bildete die Tuiga (1909), Flaggschiff des Yachtclubs Monaco.

Once again, the FI15 was the main attraction at this Mallorcan event. They are the last survivors of the “thoroughbreds” who starred in the Sloop Regattas at the beginning of the 20th century. The defining traits of these boats, besides their beauty, is that they still manage to compete today without the need for any special assistance.

Auch in diesem Jahr stellten die FI15 die große Attraktion des mallorquinischen Wettbewerbs dar. Es handelt sich um die letzten Überlebenden „Vollblüter“, die zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts die Hauptrolle während des goldenen Zeitalter der Schaluppen-Regatten gespielt haben. Die Besonderheit dieser Boote besteht zusätzlich zu ihrer Schönheit darin, dass sie in Echtzeit am Wettbewerb teilnehmen, ohne Ausgleichsformeln anwenden zu müssen.

En Clásicos, el Corsaro II (1960) no dio cuartel a sus rivales y cruzó, por tercera vez, la línea de llegada en primera posición en tiempo real en la última prueba. El barco escuela de la Marina Militare es un yawl bermudiano diseñado por Sparkman & Stephens.

In the Classics, the Corsaro II (1960) took no prisoners as it crossed the finish line in first place for the third time. The training boat for the Militare Marina is a Bermudan Yawl designed by Sparkman & Stephens.

El segundo y tercer clasificado en la general de esta categoría, en la que navegan los barcos botados entre 1950 y 1975, fueron el Emeraude (1975) y el Oryx (1966), respectivamente. Ambas embarcaciones registraron una suma de 9 puntos que se decantó del lado del Emeraude, un sloop bermudiano de pabellón francés, al ser el competidor con mejores resultados parciales.

In this category of boats launched between 1950 and 1975, second and third place were taken by the Emeraude (1975) and the Oryx (1966), respectively. Both boats earnt a total of 9 points, but the Emeraude, a Bermudan Sloop flying the French flag, won by a whisker for earning better partial results.

In der Kategorie Clásico kannte der Corsaro II mit seinen Rivalen kein Pardon und überkreuzte in der letzten Probe zum dritten Mal als erster und in Echtzeit die Ziellinie. Das Boot der Marina Militare ist ein Bermuda-Yawl und wurde von Sparkman & Stephens entworfen. Zweitund Drittplatzierter in diese Kategorie, in der die Boote fahren, die zwischen 1950 und 1975 erbaut wurden, waren der Emeraude (1975) und del Oryx (1966). Beide Boote konnten eine Gesamtanzahl von 9 Punkten erreichen. Nach reiflicher Überlegung entschied man sich schließlich für die Emeraude, ein Bermuda-Slup mit französischer Flagge, da es sich bei diesem Teilnehmer um jenen mit den besten Zwischenergebnissen handelte.

Simone Giusti, patrón del Corsaro II, se mostró muy satisfecho por la victoria. El balance de los tres días de competición no pudo ser más positivo, según Giusti, quien destacó que “las diferentes condiciones meteorológicas han servido para mejorar el aprendizaje de los cadetes”. “Ya fue una experiencia transportar el barco desde Italia, nos encontramos con un temporal con olas de 8 metros a la altura de Menorca, y todavía más navegar en esta magnífica bahía en una regata muy bien organizada”, añadió.

Simone Giusti, skipper of the Corsaro II, was very satisfied with the victory. The summary of the three days could not be more positive, according to Giusti, who emphasised that “the range of weather conditions has taught the cadets much”. “It was already a good experience, transporting the ship from Italy and hitting a storm with waves 8 metres tall, and even better having the opportunity to navigate this magnificent bay at a very well organised regatta”, he added.

RI CLASSICS

El penúltimo día de regata la clasificación de los RI Clásicos sufría un importante vuelco por la descalificación en la prueba del día del Orión (1977) y el Tichy Don (1981), que hizo al primero perder el liderato y, con ello, sus opciones de victoria. Quien sí pudo defender el puesto de cabeza en la jornada final fue su tocayo, el Orion (1973), de Tiffany Blackman, a quien le valió el segundo puesto para amarrar la victoria. La clasificación final de los RI Clásicos es la que sigue: Orion, de Tiffany Blackman, primero; Galaxie (1979), segundo, y Orión, de Gabriel Mateos , tercero.

The penultimate day of the regatta witnessed a major upset in the RI Classics event as the ships Orión (1977) and Tichy Don (1981) disqualified, losing Orion its lead and any chance of victory. However, its namesake Orion (1973), Tiffany Blackman, was the one capable of defending the top spot on the final day, taking second place to secure the victory. The final ranking in the RI Classics was as follows: First place, Orion of Tiffany Blackman; second place, Galaxie (1979); and third place, Orión of Gabriel Mateos.

Simone Giusti, Schiffsführer des Corsaro II, zeigte sich sehr zufrieden über den Sieg. Laut Giusti könnte die Bilanz aus den drei Wettbewerbstagen besser nicht ausfallen. Er hob auch hervor, dass „die unterschiedlichen meteorologischen Bedingungen maßgeblich zum Lernprozess der Kadetten beitrugen“. „Das Boot aus Italien herzutransportieren war bereits eine aufregende Erfahrung, da wir auf der Höhe von Menorca in ein Unwetter mit Wellen, die bis zu acht Meter hoch waren, gerieten. Noch aufregender war es dann aber, das Boot in dieser wunderschönen Bucht im Rahmen einer perfekt organisierten Regatta zu steuern“. KATEGORIE RI CLÁSICO Am vorletzten Tag der Regatta wurde die Wertung der RI Clásico mit der Disqualifikation Orións (1977) und Tichy Dons (1981), der damit seine Führung und somit auch die Möglichkeit zu gewinnen verlor, alles noch einmal komplett durchgemischt. Sein Namensvetter, Orion (1973) von Tiffany Blackman, konnte in der Abschlussrunde sehr wohl seine Führung verteidigen. Blackman reichte somit ein zweiter Platz um den Sieg festzumachen. Die Endwertung in der Kategorie RI Clásico lautet folgendermaßen: 1. Orion von Tiffany Blackman, 2. Galaxie (1979) und 3. Orión von Gabriel Mateos.

Tiffany Blackman, owner and skipper of the Orion, said the regatta was “one of those that creates fans”. “It’s the first time we’ve won in the four years we’ve been to the Balearic Islands, a regatta that I absolutely love because of the good atmosphere and good organisation”.

Tiffany Blackman, Reederin und Schiffsführerin des Orion, versicherte, dass die Regatta eine jener war, „die wirklich Spaß gemacht haben“. „Für uns war es der erste Sieg, seit den vier Jahren, die wir nun bereits am Wettbewerb, den ich besonders für seine tolle Atmosphäre und gute Organisation liebe, teilnehmen“.

El Cippino, del armador argentino Daniel Sielecki, certificó su triunfo en la Regata Illes Balears Clàssics en la clase Época con una incontestable tercera victoria el último día de competición. El Frers 50 del patrón Martín Billoch completó las 7,5 millas del recorrido de la jornada en una hora, cinco minutos y nueve segundos, consiguiendo una ventaja de tres minutos y 14 segundos en compensado respecto al Sonata (1937), del armador español Jordi Cabau, quien subió al tercer escalón del podio de la clase.

The Cippino, owned by Argentinian Daniel Sielecki, triumphed in the Illes Balears Clássics Regatta in the Vintage class with an incontestable third victory on the final day of the competition. The Frers 50, skippered by Martin Billoch, completed the 7.5 mile course in one hour, five minutes and nine seconds, with a lead of three minutes and 14 seconds over the Sonata (1937), owned by Spaniard Jordi Cabau, who held third place on the podium.

Am letzten Wettbewerbstag konnte der Cippino des argentinischen Reeders Daniel Sielecki, im Rahmen der Regata Illes Balears Clàssics mit seinem bereits dritten Sieg die Kategorie Época für sich entscheiden. Der Frers 50 des Schiffführers Marqn Billoch legte die 7,5 Meilen lange Strecke innerhalb nur einer Stunde, 5 Minuten und 9 Sekunden zurück. Damit war er der Sonata (1937) des spanischen Reeders Jordi Cabau, der als Drittplatzierter aus dieser Kategorie hervorgeht, um drei Minuten und 14 Sekunden voraus.

El segundo clasificado en la general de los barcos de Época fue The Blue Peter, un balandro de 1930 diseñado por el británico Alfred Mylne. Martín Billoch, que ya sabe lo que es ganar en Mallorca (lo hizo en 2016 a bordo del Delphi) reconoció que contar con un buen equipo “que se conozca y esté bien compenetrado es básico para conseguir buenos resultados”. “Además, el Cippino es un gran barco y está muy bien mantenido”, añadió.

The overall second of the Vintage ships was The Blue Peter, a sloop designed in 1930 by Brit Alfred Mylne. Martin Billoch, who already knows what it’s like to win in Mallorca (won in 2016 aboard the Delphi), made it known that a good team “that knows each other and is well practiced, is essential in achieving good results”. He added that, “The Cippino is a great ship and very well maintained”.

Los llaüts de vela latina, clase que en esta edición reunió a 15 unidades, no pudieron navegar la jornada final debido a las condiciones de fuerte viento que se registraron por la mañana. El Alzina (1945), vencedor de la única regata disputada el día anterior en las categorías de vela latina, completó el cuadro de honor de la regata, seguido del Brando (1984).

The Lanteen Sail Llauts, a class that included 15 boats this time around, were not able to sail on the final day due to strong winds recorded that morning. The Alzina (1945), winner of the only Lanteen Sail race the previous day, completed the regatta’s honor roll, followed by the Brando (1984).

Die Llaüts mit Lateinersegel, eine Kategorie, an der in diesem Jahr 15 Boote teilnahmen, konnten die Abschlussrunde aufgrund sehr starken Windes am Morgen nicht bestreiten. Das Alzina (1945) ging als Gewinner der einzigen bestrittenen Regatta hervor, die am Vortag in der Kategorie Lateinersegel ausgetragen wurde. Gefolgt vom Brando (1894) nahm das Alzina die Ehrenrolle der diesjährigen Regatta ein.

¿Cómo fue tu acercamiento al mundo del arte? Es curioso, porque realmente soy pintor por un cambio de domicilio, mis padres se mudaron de casa y justamente coincidió el cambio escolar de la educación básica obligatoria al instituto, y por eludir las matemáticas me metí en bachiller artístico.

How was your introduction into the world of art? It’s funny, because I’m really a painter because of a change of address, my parents moved house just as I was moving from compulsory basic education to college, and to avoid mathematics I got into an art bachelor school.

Pensaba que sería más fácil, aunque nunca mostré en casa ninguna noción artística. Ahí me junté con Oriol Angrill y David Collado entre otros y empezó un poco todo

I thought it would be easier, although I never showed any artistic notion at home. I joined with Oriol Angrill and David Collado, among others, and the wheels began to turn.

Wie bist du zur Kunst gekommen? Das ist eine ganz lustige Geschichte, denn eigentlich bin ich nur aufgrund eines Wohnsitzwechsels Maler geworden. Meine Eltern haben sich entschieden umzuziehen und zwar genau zu der Zeit, als ich von der Grundschule ins Gymnasium wechseln musste. Und um der Mathematik zu entkommen, entschied ich mich für den Kunstzweig. Ich dachte zunächst, dass das einfacher wäre, auch wenn ich zuvor noch nie etwas mit Kunst zu tun hatte. Dort traf ich dann unter anderem auf Oriol Angrill und David Collado. Und so begann eigentlich alles.

¿Recuerdas tu primera obra y qué expresaba?

Do you remember your first piece and what did it represent?

Es triste pero no. Al principio todo eran manchas, deformaciones sin equilibrio, hasta que poco a poco empecé con abstracto utilizando pigmentos naturales mezclándolos con látex o tintas.

It’s sad but no. At the beginning everything was blotches, distortions without balance, until little by little I started working abstract, using natural pigments and mixing them with latex and inks.

Cuando me fui a vivir a París, me convertí en un pintor del 1900, y podría decirse que desde aquel entonces me formé como pintor.

When I went to live in Paris, I became a painter from the 1900s, and it could be said that that’s where I became a painter.

Kannst du dich an dein erstes Kunstwerk erinnern und weißt du noch was es ausdrücken sollte? Es ist eigentlich sehr traurig, aber ich kann mich leider nicht daran erinnern. Zu Beginn waren das für mich nur Flecken und Deformierungen ohne Gleichgewicht, bis ich mich nach und nach der abstrakten Kunst zuwandte, indem ich natürliche Farbpigmente mit Latex oder Tinte vermischte. Als ich nach Paris zog, verwandelte ich mich in einen Maler aus dem Jahr 1900. Man könnte sagen, dass ich mich zu diesem Zeitpunkt begann als Maler zu entwickeln.

¿Cuál es la obra que más te ha marcado? Aida, sin lugar a dudas. Un embarazo, 9 meses de cuadro. Mucha dedicación y entrega en una sola tela de 24 metros cuadrados. ¿A qué persona del mundo del arte te gustaría o te hubiese gustado pintar? Charles Bukowski & William Burroughts & Francis Bacon, los tres sentados en un chester. ¿Por qué pintura y no otra expresión artística? Cualquier expresión es atractiva, mientras prevalezca su belleza robada. ¿Qué pintores han influido en tu vida, y quién te gusta de los actuales? Seguramente Freud, Bacon y Neo Rauch ¿En qué proyectos te encuentras actualmente? Aparte de mi oficio como pintor, y varias exposiciones previstas , estoy desarrollando una colección de calzado y textil propia. Which of your works left the biggest mark on you? Jede Form der Kunst ist reizvoll, solange sich die Schönheit durchsetzt.

Las regatas en cuestión son la Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry; organizada por el Club Náutico Puerto Sherry, la Puig Vela Clásica de Barcelona, del Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, la Vela Clásica Mallorca (Illes Balears Clàssics) que corre a cargo del Club de Mar- Mallorca; y la Vela Clásica Menorca, que organiza el Club Marítimo de Mahón.

These regattas are part of the Puerto Sherry Classic Sailing Week, organised by Club Náutico Puerto Sherry, Puig Vela Clásica de Barcelona part of Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, Vela Clásica Mallorca (Balearic Island Classics) run by Club de Mar-Mallorca and Vela Clásica Menorca run by Club Marítimo de Mahón.

Con este circuito, se pretende motivar a los armadores, dándoles un aliciente más para participar en este tipo de regatas.

This circuit hopes to motivate the shipowners and give them more incentive to take part in these types of regattas.

Die entsprechenden Regatten sind die Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry, die der Yachtclub Puerto Sherry ausgerichtet, die Regatta Puig Vela Clásica de Barcelona des Yachtclubs Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, die Regatta Vela Clásica Mallorca (Illes Balears Classics), die vom Club de Mar Mallorca ausgerichtet wird, und die Regatta Vela Clásica Menorca, die der Club Marítimo in Maó organisiert. Mit diesem Segelcircuit sollen die Bootseigentümer motiviert werden, indem ihnen ein weiterer Anreiz geboten wird, an dieser Art der Classic-Regatten teilzunehmen.

FRITO MALLORQUÍN Es uno de los platos típicos y antiguos de Mallorca, es un plato muy versátil ya que admite multitud de preparaciones. Su origen es sefardí, ya que presenta similitudes con la cocina judeo-sefardí y árabe. Existen muchas variedades, tenemos el de matanzas, que se hace con la carne magra y la panceta de la matanza acompañadas con las verduras, también tenemos el frito marinero, en el que sustituimos la carne por gambas, mejillones, sepia y verduras. Y por último, y haciendo un guiño a los veganos, tenemos el frito hecho únicamente con verduras.

Director de Club de Mar-Mallorca “La integración y la sostenibilidad son las claves de nuestro proyecto de futuro” José Luis Arrom (Palma, 1970) es el director del Club de Mallorca desde 2010 y una de las personas clave en la renovación de la concesión de la entidad. Ha estado presente en la negociación con las autoridades y ha participado activamente en el desarrollo del proyecto que ha hecho posible garantizar el futuro del club. Firme defensor de la modernización permanente de las instalaciones náuticas, está convencido de que el Club de Mar se consolidará como uno de los mejores puertos deportivos del Mediterráneo. El Club de Mar Mallorca ha presentado un ambicioso proyecto de renovación. ¿En qué posición quedará colocada la entidad una vez finalizadas las obras dentro del contexto de la náutica europea? Así es, la renovación del Club de Mar supondrá la mayor inversión privada de los últimos años en un espacio público de Baleares. Se trata de un proyecto no sólo ambicioso, sino también muy ilusionante. Estoy convencido de que la fachada marítima de la ciudad de Palma se verá mejorada con el nuevo club. Nuestra posición en la náutica del Mediterráneo es muy privilegiada desde nuestra fundación. Llevamos siendo un puerto de referencia desde los años 70 del siglo pasado, pero no cabe duda de con las nuevas instalaciones entraremos de lleno en la modernidad.

Club de Mar Mallorca has proposed an ambitious renovation project. Once the work has been completed, where will the company stand in the wider European maritime industry? That’s right, the renovation planned for Club de Mar will be the largest private investment in recent years in a public space in the Balearic Islands. This project is not only ambitious, but also very exciting. I am convinced that Palma’s maritime image will be improved with the club’s improvements. Our position in the Mediterranean’s nautical world has always been very privileged. We have been one of the best-known ports since the 70s, but there is no doubt that the new facilities will enter us into a whole new league.

José Luis Arrom (Palma, 1970) ist seit 2010 als Direktor des Club de Mar Mallorca tätig und ist eine der Schlüsselpersonen bei der Erneuerung der Bewilligung der Vereinigung. Er war bei den Verhandlungen mit den Behörden dabei und hat aktiv bei der Entwicklung des Projekts mitgearbeitet, dank dessen das zukünftige Bestehen des Clubs garantiert werden kann. Als starker Befürworter der kontinuierlichen Modernisierung der nautischen Anlagen, ist er davon überzeugt, dass sich der Club de Mar fest als einer der besten Yachthäfen des Mittelmeerraums etablieren wird.

Der Club de Mar Mallorca hat ein ambitioniertes Sanierungsprojekt vorgestellt. In welcher Position wird sich die Vereinigung befinden, sobald sich die neuen Bauwerke in den Kontext der europäischen Nautik integriert haben? Es ist so, dass die Sanierung des Club de Mar die größte Privatinvestition in einem öffentlichen Bereich der Balearen der vergangenen Jahre darstellen wird. Es handelt sich also nicht nur um ein ambitioniertes, sondern auch um ein sehr spannendes Projekt. Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass die maritime Küstenlinie von Palma durch den neuen Club noch unterstrichen wird. Innerhalb der Nautik des Mittelmeerraums befinden wir uns bereits seit unserer Gründung in einer sehr privilegierten Lage. Seit den 1970er-Jahren gelten wir als Maßstab für andere Häfen. Es besteht jedoch kein Zweifel, dass wir mit den neuen Einrichtungen voll und ganz in die Moderne einsteigen.

¿Cuáles son, a su juicio, los elementos más destacados de este proyecto?

In your opinion, what are the most outstanding elements of this project?

Si tuviera que resumirlo en dos palabras, serían sostenibilidad e integración. Se ha planificado un club donde la gestión medio ambiental está presente en todas las áreas. El nuevo edificio de la sede social será un ejemplo de eficiencia energética e integración en el paisaje urbano. El club será más abierto, tendrá más zonas de acceso público, pero a la vez los socios y usuarios verán mejoradas sus zonas exclusivas. Es un proyecto en el que todos salen ganando.

If I had to sum it up in two words, it would be sustainability and integration. There has been environmental management in every area of the club’s planning. The new headquarter building will be a prime example in energy efficiency and integration into an urban landscape. The club will have more open space and areas open to the public, but at the same time, the partners and users will see improvements to their exclusive areas. In this project, everyone is a winner.

¿Qué plazos se han marcado o, dicho de otro modo, cuándo cree que podremos ver la obra finalizada? Hemos previsto que las obras se inicien a final de este año, aunque para ello dependemos de la concesión de permisos que se están tramitando. Con las reservas propias que cabe tener ante una obra de esta envergadura, puedo decir que nuestra intención es que la reforma esté concluida en 2021. ¿De qué manera se integrará el nuevo club en la ciudad a nivel urbanístico y social? Como he dicho, uno de los puntos fuertes de nuestro proyecto y el más apreciado por las autoridades locales fue la idea de unir el club a la ciudad de forma física, no sólo conceptual. Básicamente se derribarán barreras, se ampliará el paseo a su paso por el club y se creará una pasarela que conectará la estación marítima de Palma con el paseo marítimo. Tendremos un Club de Mar más amable y con espacios más amplios para el disfrute de clientes, socios y, por supuesto, de los ciudadanos de Palma. ¿Seguirá la entidad apostando por el fomento del deporte náutico? Por supuesto. Las nuevas instalaciones nos permitirá ampliar nuestras secciones deportivas, así como las acciones de fomento que llevamos a cabo a través de nuestras escuelas de vela y piragüismo. Somos un club náutico y el deporte forma parte de nuestro ADN. Los planes consisten en mejorar lo que ya tenemos a nivel de infraestructuras y en incrementar el número de licencias que aportamos a las federaciones deportivas. Seguiremos apostando también por la organización de competiciones de base y de alto nivel, como la Illes Balears Clàssics de barcos de época.

What deadlines have been set? Or in other words, when will we be able to see the finished work? We anticipate that the works will begin at the end of this year, although we are still waiting on the permits. Obviously, there are reservations with a job of this magnitude, but I can say that we hope to have the redevelopment completed in 2021. How will the new club become a part of the city at an urban and social level? Like I said, one of the strong points of our project and something that the local authorities favour is the idea of incorporating the club into the city in a physical way as well as a conceptually. Basically, there won’t be any barriers, the walkway will be extended out of the club and a path will be built joining the Palma maritime station to the seafront. We will have a friendlier Club de Mar and more open spaces for our customers, partners and, of course, the people of Palma. Will the organisation still have a hand in promoting nautical sports? Of course. The new facilities will allow us to expand our sports selections, as well as the promotions that we carry out through our sailing and canoeing schools. We are a nautical club and sports are part of our DNA. The plan consists of improving what we already have at the infrastructural level and increasing the number of licenses that we contribute to sports federations. We are still going to be involved in organising baseline and high-level competitions, such as the Illes Balears Clássics for vintage boats.

Was sind Ihrer Ansicht nach die wichtigsten Aspekte dieses Projekts? Auf zwei Wörter zusammengefasst würde ich sagen: Nachhaltigkeit und Integration. Der Club wurde so geplant, dass das Umweltmanagement in allen seinen Bereichen eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Das neue Sozialgebäude wird ein Beispiel für Energieeffizienz und Integration in das Stadtbild darstellen. Der Club wird offener gestaltet sein und über mehrere öffentliche Bereiche verfügen. Gleichzeitig werden aber auch die für die Mitglieder exklusiven Bereiche verbessert. Aus diesem Projekt gehen am Ende also nur Gewinner hervor. Welche Fristen wurden gesetzt oder, in anderen Worten, wann denken Sie, können wir das fertige Werk bestaunen? Geplant ist, am Ende dieses Jahres mit den Bauarbeiten zu beginnen. Das hängt aber noch von denjenigen ab, die unsere Genehmigung bearbeiten. Mit Vorbehalt, den man bei so einem umfangreichen Bauvorhaben haben muss, kann ich Ihnen sagen, dass die Sanierung nach unseren Plänen bis 2021 abgeschlossen sein soll. Wie wird der neue Club auf städtischer und sozialer Ebene integriert werden? Wie ich bereits gesagt habe, besteht eine Stärke dieses Projekts, die gleichzeitig von den lokalen Behörden als wichtigster Punkt empfunden wird, aus der Idee, den Club nicht nur konzeptuell, sondern auch physisch mit der Stadt zu vereinen. Im Prinzip werden Begrenzungen entfernt und die Promenade bis zum Club hin erweitert werden, sodass der Hafen von Palma mit der Strandpromenade verbunden sein wird. Am Club de Mar, der freundlicher und offener erscheinen wird, werden sich einerseits die Mitglieder und andererseits natürlich auch die Einwohner Palmas erfreuen. Wird sich die Vereinigung weiterhin für die Förderung des Bootsports einsetzen? Selbstverständlich. Die neuen Einrichtungen werden es uns ermöglichen, die Sportbereiche zu erweitern und die Maßnahmen zur Förderung, die wir in unseren Kanu- und Segelschulen realisieren, zu verstärken. Wir sind ein Yachtklub und der Sport ist in unserer DNA verankert. Geplant ist unter anderem die Verbesserung der Infrastruktur sowie die Erhöhung der Anzahl an Lizenzen, mit denen wir verschiedene Sportverbände unterstützen. Wir werden auch weiterhin an der Organisation von Wettkämpfen auf Ausgangs- sowie hohem Niveau arbeiten, wie dem Wettkampf Illes Balears Clàssics mit klassischen Booten.

El proyecto afianza al Club de Mar como líder absoluto en el servicio a las grandes esloras, un sector que ha experimentado un gran crecimiento. ¿Cómo cree que evolucionará este mercado? El Club de Mar Mallorca ofrece desde hace ya muchos años la mayor línea de atraque para grandes yates del Mediterráneo occidental. Fuimos pioneros en apostar por este sector mucho antes de que se alcanzaran las cifras actuales de megayates, así que tenemos muchísima experiencia en un sector que genera una gran riqueza para la ciudad. Es difícil saber cómo evolucionará, pero ahora mismo es una industria en crecimiento. ¿De qué manera cree que una entidad como el Club de Mar contribuye a generar riqueza en su entorno? Podría extenderme mucho en esta respuesta, pero se la resumiré en dos puntos: generamos riqueza económica atrayendo a grandes embarcaciones que dejan muchísimo dinero en subsectores asociados a la náutica de recreo y generamos riqueza social reinvirtiendo parte de nuestros beneficios en promover el ocio sano y el deporte náutico, y en la organización de eventos que ayudan a vertebrar la sociedad. Un puerto deportivo gestionado con estos principios es oro para su ciudad.

This project strengthens Club de Mar’s position as an industry leader, an industry that has experienced great growth over the years. How do you think this market will evolve? Club de Mar Mallorca has had, for many years now, the largest mooring line for large yachts in the Western Mediterranean. We started as the pioneers in this sector, long before the numbers of mega-yachts we see today, so we have a lot of experience in an industry that generates great wealth for the city. It’s difficult to say how it might evolve, but right now it is a growing industry. How do you think that an organisation, such as Club de Mar, generates such wealth for its surroundings? I could go on and on explaining this, but I’ll summarise it in two points: We generate economic wealth by attracting large vessels that spend a lot of money in the subsectors associated with recreational boating. TP Shipyard Palma estrena el travelift más grande de Europa by Clara López Photos STP

Cada vez está más cerca la llegada del nuevo travelift de 1000 toneladas que STP Shipyard Palma ha adquirido para dar un servicio más completo a sus clientes. Después de trabajar exhaustivamente en los planos durante más de un año, este nuevo travelift está diseñado para dar respuesta a las nuevas necesidades de la industria náutica. Además de mejoras tecnológicas, este nuevo travel ofrecerá unas capacidades y dimensiones superiores al travel de 700 toneladas que STP posee actualmente, pues con 26m de longitud, 12,5m de ancho y 25m de altura, será el travelift con mayor capacidad de Europa por su tamaño y su capacidad de izada. Un dato interesante es que este travelift al ser más alto, permitirá que algunos veleros no tengan que desmontar los stays o back stays, piezas pertenecientes a la jarcia. Además, se estima que permitirá sacar barcos con una eslora de hasta 57 metros si son motoras, y 67 metros si son veleros, dependiendo de cómo sea el barco, y 12 metros de manga máxima en ambos casos. 136 CLUB DE MAR-MALLORCA 2018

The arrival of the new 1000 tonne travelift, that STP Shipyard Palma has acquired to provide a more complete service to its customers, is getting closer.

After working extensively on the plans for more than a year, this new travelift has been designed according to the latest needs of the nautical industry. As well as technological improvements, this new lift will be bigger and have a higher capacity than the 700 tonne lift that STP currently has. More than 26m long, 12.5m wide and 25m tall, will make it the most capable travelift in the whole of Europe, based on its size and lifting capacity.

In einer intensiven Arbeit an den Plänen, die mehr als ein Jahr lang andauerte, wurde dieser neue Travellift dafür konzipiert, den neuen Anforderungen der Schifffahrtsindustrie zu gerecht zu werden. Zusätzlich zu besseren Technologien, bietet der neue Travellift auch höhere Kapazitäten und größere Dimensionen als der 700 Tonnen schwere Travellift, den STP momentan besitzt. Tatsächlich wird der neue Travellift mit 26 Metern Länge, 12,5 Metern Breite und 25 Metern Höhe aufgrund seiner Größe und Hebekapazität der Travellift mit der größten Kapazität Europas sein. Dadurch, dass der neue Travellift höher ist als der derzeit vorhandene, müssen einige der Stage oder Backstage, wobei es sich um Teile des Tauwerks von Segelschiffen handelt, nicht mehr zerlegt werden. Außerdem können aller Voraussicht nach Motorboote mit einer Schiffslänge von bis zu 57 Metern und Segelschiffe mit einer Schiffslänge von bis zu 67 Metern und einer maximalen Schiffsbreite von 12 Metern in beiden Fällen, aus dem Wasser gehoben werden können.

An interesting fact is that the height of this travelift will allow some yachts to be lifted without having to remove their stays or back stays, parts of the standard rigging. La empresa a cargo de su desarrollo es Cyberaltura Software, la misma empresa que administraba la web anterior. El cambio en la apariencia y funcionamiento responde a la necesidad que venía teniendo el Club de ofrecer una página web actualizada y que sirva a las demandas de los usuarios de hoy en día.

The company in charge of the development is Cyberaltura Software, the same company who managed the previous version. The change in appearance and operation is better suited to the club’s need to offer more updated information and is more accessible for today’s users.

El aspecto más significativo es la nueva navegabilidad desde dispositivos móviles, mucho más fluida y limpia, lo cual facilita que la visita del usuario sea más cómoda y visual. También se han introducido mejoras en secciones como la de escuelas de vela y piragua, facilitando el proceso de inscripción en los diferentes cursos a lo largo del año. La página web está disponible en español e inglés.

Seit vergangenem Februar hat der Club de Mar Mallorca eine neue Webseite. Diese punktet mit einer stilvolleren Benutzeroberfläche, die auch auf mobile Geräte zugeschnitten ist. Entwickelt wurde die Webseite vom Unternehmen CyberAltura Software. Dabei handelt es sich um dasselbe Unternehmen, das auch die vorherige Webseite verwaltete. Die Veränderungen in der Benutzeroberfläche und Funktionsweise der Webseite ergaben sich aus den Anforderungen des Clubs, den Benutzern von heute eine ihren Ansprüchen entsprechende aktualisierte Webseite, anzubieten. Den wichtigsten Aspekt bildet die neue Navigation mit mobilen Geräten, die sich nun viel flüssiger und einfacher gestaltet. Dies ermöglicht dem Benutzer einen visuell viel ansprechenderen Besuch auf der Webseite. Es wurden außerdem Verbesserungen in den Rubriken Kanu- und Segelschulen vorgenommen, wodurch das Anmeldeverfahren für die über das ganze Jahr hinweg angebotenen Kurse erleichtert wird. Die Webseite ist in den Sprachen Spanisch und Englisch verfügbar.

Limpieza del FONDO MARINO by Club de Mar-Mallorca Photos Club de Mar-Mallorca El pasado sábado 4 de noviembre de 2017, el Club de Mar llevó a cabo la segunda jornada de limpieza de su fondo marino. Se consiguieron retirar 10 toneladas de residuos, que abarcaron desde carros de compra y botellas hasta baterías, cabos y pasarelas. En esta exitosa jornada participaron más de 50 voluntarios y, entre otros colaboradores, se contó con el apoyo de Coca-Cola.

Los residuos que se habían ido depositando a lo largo de los años en el fondo marino fueron clasificados y entregados a gestores autorizados para su correcto reciclaje. A lo largo de la mañana los buzos hallaron una embarcación neumática y un bote de fibra que habían quedado sepultados bajo los lodos. El responsable de seguridad y medio ambiente del Club de Mar, José Manuel Pérez, señaló que el objetivo era “concienciar a los usuarios del club” de la necesidad de mantener el puerto limpio.

On Saturday, 4 November 2017, the Club de Mar carried out a second day of cleaning up the seabed. They managed to remove 10 tons of waste, ranging from shopping trolleys and bottles, to batteries, ropes and gangplanks. More than 50 volunteers took part in this successful day, and there was support from Coca-Cola, among other contributors.

The waste that had been deposited over the years was sorted and delivered to authorised operators for proper recycling. Throughout the morning the divers found an inflatable and a fibreglass boat buried under the silt. The safety and environmental officer of Club de Mar, José Manuel Pérez, said that the objective was “to make club users aware of the importance of keeping the port clean”.

Pérez también destacó la participación “padres y madres con sus hijos”, así como la de miembros de la Fundació Joves Navegants, Isurus, Dive & Co, Escuela del Mar, Explorextrem, Coronet, Safamar, Federación Balear de Espeleología o Seven Stars.

Am vergangenen Samstag, den 4. November 2017, führte der Club de Mar zum zweiten Mal eine Reinigung des Meeresgrundes durch. Dabei konnten insgesamt ca. 10 Tonnen Müll, angefangen bei Einkaufswägen und Flaschen bis hin zu Batterien, Seilen und Holzstücken, aus dem Meer geholt werden. Bei dieser erfolgreichen Reinigung halfen mehr als 50 Freiwillige mit. Zudem konnte, neben weiteren Kooperationspartnern, auch auf die Unterstützung von Coca-Cola gezählt werden.

Der Müll, der sich über viele Jahre hinweg am Meeresgrund angesammelt hatte, wurde sortiert und an zum korrekten Recycling beauftragte Unternehmen abgegeben. In den Morgenstunden fanden die Taucher ein Schlauchboot sowie ein weiteres Boot, die unter dem Schlamm begraben waren. José Manuel Pérez, Verantwortlicher des Club de Mar für die Sicherheit und Umwelt, wies darauf hin, dass das Ziel der Reinigung darin bestand, den Club-Mitgliedern zu verdeutlichen, wie wichtig es ist, den Hafen sauber zu halten. Pérez hob auch die Mithilfe von „Vätern, Müttern und ihren Kindern“ hervor sowie jene der Mitglieder der Fundació Joves Navegants, Isurus, Dive & Co, Escuela del Mar, Explorextrem, Coronet, Safamar, Federación Balear de Espeleología und Seven Stars. Nach Abschluss der Reinigungsarbeiten teilten alle freiwilligen Helfer gemeinsam mit den Angestellten des Clubs eine Paella und Coca-Cola-Erfrischungsgetränke.
