FITTING
FITTING 17”
Our packs are shipped with the shoulder harness adjusted to fit a 17” torso (19” on X-tall frames). Use this as a general guide and adjust the harness up or down for best fit.

Use the highlighted straps shown here to adjust the pack fit in the next seven steps. Before you get started, loosen all straps.

FITTING Step one, load the pack with 2030lbs in the main compartment. Note that in the PRO packs the weight can be secured with the installed webbing pictured above.

Step two, loosen all highlighted straps. Then lift the loaded pack by the frame handle and get into the suspension.

Step four, attach the sternum strap and adjust it up or down until it is comfortable. This will align the harness properly on your body while you adjust the shoulder straps.
FITTING Step five, pull the shoulder harness webbing towards the lumbar pad to tighten the shoulder harness, taking weight off your hips.

Step six, tighten the load lifter straps evenly. Do not over-tighten. The ideal load lifter angle to relieve pressure on the top of your shoulders is 350 to 450.
FITTING Step seven, tighten your load stabilizer straps evenly to pull the pack bag securely to the hip belt.

The load lifters should meet the shoulder harness at a point between your collar bone and the top of your shoulder.

T-Locks are located on the back of the harness here
To eliminate gaps and properly position the load lifter attachment point, adjust the shoulder harness up or down as pictured on page 7. Make sure the T-locks are engaged and evenly positioned on the frame.

Step one, unclip the load lifter straps from the pack bag.

Step two, unclip and loosen all four side compression straps.

Bottom Compression Straps

Step three, disengage the metal hip belt hook connecting the hip belt and bag, then loosen the bottom compression straps.

Step four, loosen the lower bag attachment straps. Then loosen the load stabilizer straps.

LOAD SLING Step five, slide the frame down and out of the upper stay pockets.

Bridge strap
Step six, unclip the bridge straps located at the top of frame stays.

LOAD SLING Step seven, lay the pack and frame face down. Place contents into the sling between the frame and bag. We recommend using a game bag or dry bag to carry gear or meat in the load sling.

Step eight, attach the male bridge strap buckles to the pack bag female buckles.

LOAD SLING Step nine, tighten the bridge straps so the pack bag is pulled upward and close to the upper frame stays.

Bottom Compression Straps Lower Bag Attachment Straps

Step ten, evenly tighten the lower bag attachment straps to compress the bottom of the bag towards the hip belt. Then tighten the bottom compression straps.
LOAD SLING Step eleven, attach and securely tighten the four side compression straps.

Bridge Strap Load Lifter
Step twelve, stand the bag upright and attach the load lifter male buckle to the bridge strap female buckle.

LOAD SLING Step thirteen, tighten the load stabilizer straps after getting the bag on your back and tightening the hip belt. A slight V shape should be formed between the bag and frame to keep meat or gear from sliding down.

PACK CHANGE
PACK CHANGE
Step one, unclip the load lifter straps from the pack bag.

Step two, unclip all four side compression straps and load stabilizer straps.

PACK CHANGE
Step three, unclip the metal hook and bottom compression straps, then loosen and unclip the lower bag attachment straps.

Step four, slide the frame down and out of the upper stay pockets.

To attach the new bag, reverse steps from page 33 to page 37.
PACK CHANGE
The bag should now freely disengage from the frame.

ACCESSORIES Pro Hip Belt Pouch
Slide mesh sleeve over the entire hip belt

Install the PRO hip belt pouches by sliding the entire hip belt through the mesh sleeve on the back of the pouch. The pouch should rest over the belt as shown above.

Barrel Strap
Stock Cradle KUIU pack bags have upper and lower webbing loops for installation of gun and bow holders. These can be installed on either the back or side of the pack bag. Side installation is pictured here.
