Business Context Corporate Accounting Services (SHA) provides various financial and management accounting and reporting services for BP Business Segments, the Global Business Centre and Corporate Functions through a team of 50+ staff in the Financial Reporting Group of SHA located in Sunbury. Activities include accounting for the significant spend on assets by a number of high profile functions and significant inter-company trading activity. The team also has a pivotal role in the preparation & filing of the BP Group’s UK statutory accounts for over 180 legal entities, including accounts preparation, supporting tax analysis and audit query resolution. Due to continuing demand and internal promotions within SHA and to other parts of the BP Group a number of excellent opportunities have arisen within the corporate and BP International Accounting teams.
These roles will give the successful candidates outstanding exposure to Financial/ Statutory and Management Accounts and accounting and enable them to exercise accounting judgement in an IFRS, IAS and UKGAAP financial environment. Team Leadership roles await the truly ambitious. The ideal applicants will be newly or recently qualified chartered accountants with a proven track record and a strong academic background. You must be able to demonstrate a strong technical accountancy skill set in IFRS and/or UK GAAP preferably with exposure to SAP Financial systems. The ability to constructively influence and the drive to succeed in a challenging commercial environment are a prerequisite.
