The ideal applicant will be a qualified chartered accountant with advanced Excel skills and an excellent academic record. Special Projects Accountant You will be responsible for managing a variety of projects initiated by the CEO and CFO. Examples of the type of project you could work on include integrating major corporate acquisitions into the British Land accounting system; liaising with departmental heads to agree budgets and control administrative overheads, investigating operational variances and providing meaningful comment and analysis to the board, figures for prospective corporate and financial transactions, implementing specific property by property gross rents to net rents reporting. All of these projects will require a very commercial and practical approach coupled with technical knowledge and an ability to operate at all levels throughout the organisation. Corporate Reporting Accountant You will have responsibility for the analysis of a functional reporting area (e.g. rental income and joint ventures), as well as advising on financial disclosure including the implications for the Group consolidation, reviewing and providing analysis and commentary to the board. You will also prepare information for quarterly reporting, stock exchange announcements and assist the investor relations team with ad hoc information and evaluation as required.
