WARD: Minor Treatment Unit, (Out Patients Dept) TELEPHONE No: 01946 693181 Ext. or direct line to treatment area:ext Day Unit 4052/4540, Tx Room 4157 DIRECTIONS TO HOSPITAL: From M6:Exit M6 Junction 40, taking the A66 towards Keswick/Workington. This is the most direct route avoiding the Lakes tourist routes. This route also by-passes the towns of Penrith, Keswick and Cockermouth. Alternative scenic route: missing Exit M6 Junction 36. Take the A590 Kendal bypass then A591 to Windermere and Keswick and A66 from Keswick to Cockermouth. This is a scenic route through the Lake District but there can be traffic congestion during the holiday season. Then: Immediately south of Cockermouth, take the A595 to Whitehaven. After the Lillyhall roundabout and dual carriageway, take the bypass road at the next roundabout (second exit) to Whitehaven avoiding Distington. Approaching Whitehaven, do not go into the town centre, follow the A595 (Loop Road) through two sets of traffic lights and take the second left at the roundabout at the bottom of Homewood Hill (signposted West Cumberland Hospital). A few hundred yards up the hill, the Hospital entrance is on the right.
DIRECTIONS TO WARD: Enter Hospital site follow road (one way system) around to the back of the hospital to A/E entrance on the right, small roundabout unload near ‘Out of hours’ doors. (Open until 8.30pm, after that press buzzer for security to open doors automatically, any problems mention we have permission from ‘Sheena Todhunter: Matron), straight down corridor to Out Patients dept on right, enter dept. Follow signs to Minor Treatment Unit, (left of OP reception desk) enter unit turn right then left at Staff desk in to Minor Treatment Room. Install here. NB Yellow swipe card needed to access unit and room, drivers card will be in van key drawer. Please Return. NB If card missing, then call Theatres when unloading equipment (Theatre Mobile 07825949057) they can let you in to dept and tx room. Radiographers. Drive past A/E to car parks on left (Car Park 6 £5 daily fee) and walk back to Out of hours doors to gain access .
