LUCID
CHRISTOPHER MOORE
Decifering what I want an image to come out as is a process that my mind takes me throuh subliminally. Sort of like a lucid dream, things are determined by me but also by my subconscious aesthetic that details its way into my art. Images that blend seamlessly between reality and imagination are what I like to create because the very concept mirrors the way we see the world in our minds. I don’t have any inclination towards artwork that portrays the obvious or normal. I like the things that are not known, subtle, and intuitively spontaneous. Meshing together the mood from colors along with poses and a gaze, my pieces aim to provide the vision of what I see under the mask we all see and call the real world. To look at my art and imediately see its purpose is too shallow and not likely. Each piece has a mind of its own, a soundtrack that replays in the background to set the mood in the ambience of my mind, and and a character. That character, more often than not, is one that comes from inside of me, one that expresses things through capturing your thought and glance. To know my art, to understand it, is to understand a bit more of how I wish the world was, and how I see it when I’m lucid.

Tryptich Icons Tidying Up Art Forbidden Book Covers Commissioned
Tryptich After choosing three words that have been pooled together by a line of consistent thought, this tryptich was created to tie them all together into one story line. My three words were Bullet train, Egyptian Art, Optical Illusion. “Although I loved admiring the beutiful Egyptian art such as the bust sculpted to emulate Nefertiti, we had to leave and head to Rome using the bullet train. As soon as we got there, we visted the Parthenon. An optical illusion because of its symmetry and fooling perspective, its appearance was mastered just like the stone portraying Nefertiti’s mere flawlesness.”
