As one of the largest nonprofit academic medical centers in the U.S., Cedars-Sinai offers 886 licensed beds, 2,100 physicians, 2,800 nurses and thousands of other healthcare professionals and staff. Dedicated to providing care for everyone who needs it, Cedars Sinai’s clinical programs range from primary care for preventing, diagnosing and treating common conditions to specialized treatments for rare, complex and advanced illnesses.

In addition, Cedars-Sinai serves the community through its Medical Network, which provides patients convenient access to primary and specialty care physicians and seamless care coordination. Mary Clare Lingel, Vice President of Strategic Integration at Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, says their team works daily to ensure patients can be confident in the network’s evolving procedures.

“While our patients can continue to access our care through video visits or via phone, we’ve implemented a number of safety measures at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital and our many medical offices – including those in Santa Monica—to keep patients and staff safe when an in-person visit is necessary.”

Lingel explains these measures include temperature checks for those entering facilities; universal masking of employees, physicians, patients and visitors; physical distancing in waiting areas and clinical areas; limiting visitors; and designating specific zones for COVID-19 patients, separating them from other patients as appropriate.

“I think that it’s so important for our patients to understand that a big part of this effort has involved a tremendous focus on keeping our healthcare workers safe so they can safely provide care,” Lingel continues. “We’re maintaining social distancing and rigorous hand hygiene, wearing masks and thoroughly cleaning our environment. We are closely monitoring the situation and making adjustments as needed, always putting the health and safety of our patients and staff first.”
