College of Pharmacy

JoLaine R. Draugalis, Ph.D., Dean

The first two graduates of the University of Oklahoma received the pharmaceutical chemist diploma in 1896; in fact, between 1896 through 1901, 42 of the first 57 graduates of the University were pharmacists. The College of Pharmacy moved from the Norman campus to the Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City in 1976, and since its dedication in 1983, The Henry D. and Ida Mosier building has been the home of the college. The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program was initiated in 1998. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, the Pharm.D. program offered at OU qualifies our graduates for licensure requirements in all states and prepares students for varied and highly productive professional careers.

Pharmacy offers the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees through the Graduate College. The college, in partnership with affiliated health care institutions, also offers accredited post-graduate first and second year residencies.

Graduates of the College of Pharmacy can be identified by their olivegreen hoods and black tams. Candidates of the Doctor of Pharmacy are expected to receive their degrees Tuesday, May 31, subject to faculty approval.
