Fauquier Health Cancer Center Medical Office
by CMTA
Warrenton, Virginia
The new Cancer Center Medical Office Building at Fauquier Hospital encompasses approximately 24,000 square feet and includes a single-story new facility on the Healthcare Campus. The new facility houses an Infusion Center, exam center suites, Pharmacy and includes space for a future Linear Accelerator and Simulator spaces.
The primary air conditioning systems for the addition consist of several variable volume rooftop air handling units with each suite utilizing electric reheat at each terminal unit.
Due to the inclusion of an Infusion area, a medical gas system was requested to be included in our design for this area. CMTA designed the Pharmacy area which included IV Prep, Ante, and Chemo Rooms per USP Standards. Fan Filter Diffusers were used in the Pharmacy area in order to achieve the filtration and air change requirements.
A new 1,200 amp 277/480V utility electrical service was provided to the facility. A new 200-KW emergency power back-up generator was installed to maintain power during outages. Three new automatic transfer switch units were installed for new emergency power life safety branch panels, critical branch panels and equipment branch panels. Nurse Call systems were provided within the Infusion Center and a specialized doorbell system was installed within the Pharmacy suite to alert staff of visitors.
