Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

Washington, DC

The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital, sought to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer through innovative basic and clinical research, patient care, community education and outreach, and the training of cancer specialists of the future. Lombardi is one of only 40 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the only one in the Washington, DC, area.

This project consisted of a four-story 11,200 square foot addition to the front of the existing Lombardi Cancer Center and houses a new proton therapy treatment machine. The machine occupies three stories of the addition with the fourth story providing office space.
