major roadway improvement project aimed at bettering the quality of life for residents in Cutler Bay will
begin soon. Residents had been voicing concerns about habitual speeding along SW 208th Street, between 92nd and 87th avenues, and the town council is taking measures to address that problem. The council voted at its July 15 meeting to authorize Marlin Engineering Inc. to commence the design roadway improvements. A conceptual design was presented by Marlin Engineering Inc. to the council, based on comments received at several adjacent homeowner association meetings. “We heard a very clear message from the people who live in the 208th Street neighborhood that something needed to be done to improve that road,” said Mayor Paul Vrooman. “By working with them, we’ll be able to turn a runway-wide drag strip into a signature street that will enhance the neighborhood, incorporate bike lanes and natural landscaping while we maintain traffic flow. It’s been a fun project and I can’t wait to join the people of that area for the ribbon cutting.” –––––––––––––––––––– See
