‘Viva Tango’ Ball seeks $175,000 ith a tango theme full of passion, the 2009 Transplant Foundation “Taste of Love: Viva Tango” will transport more than 800 community members, transplant recipients and donors into an inspired Argentinean Plaza, March 6 at Miami’s Jungle Island. “We are working to raise $175,000 with our event and we anticipate that we’ll reach our goal,” said Eli Compton, Executive Director for the Transplant Foundation. “In this tough economic climate we truly appreciate the support of our community and look forward to providing a lovely evening for our guests.” Ms. Esperanza “Essie” Palmer-Yera, owner/president of Remedy Intelligent Staffing, a leader in delivery staffing services and innovative workforce technology in Miami, is chairing the 2009 event. Ms. Palmer-Yera served as a Board Member and Chairperson of the Hialeah-Miami Springs Northwest Dade Chamber of Commerce from 1998 – 2001, Board Member of Metro’s Mercy House (2007 -2008) and as Board Member of Kids and Families Foundation since 2005 . Ms Palmer-Yera with 15 years in the staffing industry purchased a Remedy Intelligent Staffing franchise which opened in July, 1995, and currently has billings of more than $3 million in sales. Ms. Palmer-Yera lives in Cutler Bay, Florida with her husband

‘Reach’ sculpture unveiled at Doral Park
nion Credit Bank (UCB) has opened its first “Green” branch in MiamiDade County, located at 10900 NW 25th Street (Suite 106) in Doral. The Doral branch is UCB’s second in the county, a 3,000 squarefoot retail branch opened on Thursday, Jan. 22. The branch lobby will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To celebrate the occasion, a cocktail reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with Vice Mayor Michael DiPietro welcoming the officers and bank to the city. Also speaking were UCB President/CEO Fernando Capablanca and Miguel Rishmague, Chairman of the Board. Nancy Garcia was named as Branch Manager of the new facility with Cristina Tellechea-Salazar as her assistant. Garcia has 24 years of banking experience, mostly in the international banking field, joining UCB in November, 2002, as Vice
