Molina Healthcare names Pollack as Chief Officer

M

olina Healthcare of Florida has named David Pollack as its chief operating officer. Pollack recently joined Molina with nearly 20 years of experience in various operational and financial positions in the health care industry. Molina Healthcare of Florida welcomed Mayor Juan C. Bermudez and other city VIP guests when it opened its Doral office at 8200 NW 33rd St., Suite 400. Pollack, who started his career as an accountant at Ernst & Young, most recently held the role of vice president of portfolio operations at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. There, he oversaw the university’s investments in diverse health care entities. He also served as president of Neighborhood Health Partnership, Inc., a South Florida managed care plan. Pollack, a CPA, earned his b a c h e l o r ’s degree in business administration at the University of N o r t h DAVID POLLACK Carolina, Chapel Hill. “We’re thrilled to have David on our team,” said Don Hairston, president of Molina Healthcare of Florida. “It’s a pleasure to put his knowledge and extensive industry experience to work for Molina.” Molina Healthcare of Florida was awarded its Medicaid contract in December 2008. The company currently has health care provider certificates for the counties of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. Its office is in Doral. Molina Healthcare of Florida is a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, Inc.

City invited to Tennis ‘Block’ Party D

oral tennis players, young and old alike, are urged to attend the U. S. Tennis Association “Block Party” scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Tamiami Tennis Center 11201 SW 24th Street (Coral Way). Throughout May, designated across the U. S. as “Tennis Month,” the USTA is serving up an ambitious community initiative with a series of “Tennis Block Parties” in nationwide markets. The Block Parties will bring new ways to involve and expose new and existing players to the unparalleled health and social benefits of tennis.

The Miami Block Party is free to the public and besides fun games and prizes, will feature beach volleyball and beach tennis exhibition matches.
