Business Council signs MOU with S. Florida workforce and MDC New Sunpass Turnpike ramp opens in Doral

he Doral Business Council has joined forces with Miami Dade College and the South Florida Workforce Investment Board in a program designed to increase access to workforce education and strengthen the economic vitality of the Doral community, its employers and residents. lorida Turnpike’s newest Miami-Dade interchange in 10 years was opened near Northwest 74th Street in Doral by Miami-Dade County, Florida Turnpike and City of Doral officials on April 27. The new interchange was built with SunPass-only toll plazas on the northbound exit and southbound entrance ramps. Motorists paying cash must do so at the Okeechobee mainline toll plaza if entering the Turnpike northbound or exiting southbound at NW 74th Street. DBC Team raised $5K for 2010 Relay for Life C r ea t es 1 s t A n n u al G oa l s f or a Ca u s e

he Forum Committee, a business leads exchange committee of the Doral Business Council (DBC), raises over $5,000.00 in support of the City of Doral’s Relay for Life. This is the second year the Forum Committee comes together under the leadership of team captains Madeline Martinez of Atlantic Corporate Travel and Paula Franco of Spherion Staffing. For several months the team co-captains attended meetings organized by the American Cancer Society in preparation for the 2010 Relay for Life. More than 20 members joined the team in their efforts to reach their goal of $5,000.00. As part of the festivities this year, the Relay for Life event opened with Goals for a Cause, a special activity created by Forum team member, InterContinental West Miami hotel, which got several companies to donate monies for their chance to score goals on ViceMayor Robert Van Name.
