iardino Gourmet Salads celebrated the opening of its new South Miami location recently with an official grand opening event. Located at 6653 S Dixie Hwy., Giardino Gourmet Salads specializes in delectable, healthy salads the entire family can enjoy. Special guests Alonzo Mourning and his wife Tracy attended the grand opening, with “Zo” signing basketballs for fans. He and Tracy not only enjoyed their salads, they also collected 20 percent of the day’s proceeds donated by Giardino Gourmet Salads to benefit their

Bet Shira Congregation teams with Rebuilding Together et Shira Congregation, located in Pinecrest, has a very active Tikkun Olam Committee. Tikkun Olam literally means repairing the world. The committee has been in existence for over twenty years and has about 40 members who participate at various events, both at the synagogue and reaching out into the community. Recently 15 members of the committee showed to paint, landscape and make minor repairs at the home of an elderly disabled woman in Coconut Grove. Working for over eight hours the group completed what it set out to do. The homeowner was very pleased with her home, which had been transformed right before her
