On June 2, Community Council 12, which governs zoning in unincorporated areas east of S. Dixie Highway (US1) between South Miami and Pinecrest, approved modifications to allow new construction but imposed strict conditions, including limiting school enrollment, to offset residents’ fears that expansion would increase traffic and parking in neighborhood areas. t least one business in town sees the silver lining in this economy. You can see it shining on the corner of Sunset and SW 58 Avenue. Elements of Time expanded in April, and Tami Aizenstat, owner, says it was the right move. They have gone from 700 to 1500 square feet, taking the space once occupied by House Fly. The lines they are carrying have expanded also. Hello Kitty for the young and young at heart. Uno de 50 is a wonderful collection of jewelry designed and made in Spain. For boys – and girls – Tracksters are here. The new space has allowed for some fun housewares, including a great selection of Romero Britto. For those getting an early start for back to school the new Agatha Ruiz de la Prada has also arrived. They will still be doing camp packages. And they still have the treasured watch collection that started it all including Michele, Techno Marine, Michael Kors, along with a one of a kind vintage collection and a huge selection of watch bands. Last, but not least, Ugly Dolls. If you don’t know what they are stop by and let Tami or Ilsa, or Sharon show you.
