10th Annual Egg Scramble held on April 23

Cultural and Human Services Director For the tenth year in a row, the City of Sunny Isles Beach hosted its unique Egg Scramble event. And we still hear the jokes, “Where is breakfast? I thought you were serving scrambled eggs.” Well as always we didn’t serve breakfast. Rather, at Mayor Edelcup’s announcement to “go”, children 12 and under “scrambled” through a sea of brightly colored beach balls to collect plastic, candy-filled eggs. Ten thousand eggs were found and shared by over 1,000 children. Once all the eggs were gathered, the festivities continued with a special baseball field dedication to celebrate the naming of the field as the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field. And then

FREE Resident ID Cards available at two locations

how your pride in being a Sunny Isles Beach resident by getting your Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID card. This card will make it easier for you to sign up for programs and activities with the City of Sunny Isles Beach, and attend our various events throughout the year. Resident ID cards are available at the Community Center at Pelican Community Park and at the Visitor’s Center at the Government Center. You will need to bring in your proof of residency (i.e. a utility bill from within the last three months or a copy of your current lease along with a letter from the condo/management office confirming you reside in that condo/apartment). The first card is free but replacement cards are $5 each. Cards are good for 2 years from date of issue. Resident ID Cards will be issued to each member of your family once proof of residency has been verified.
