If you’re lucky enough to live in the Up-Valley area, there’s a busy Saturday, May 6, in store for you this weekend if you choose to venture out. If you live in other places, this might be a good Saturday to venture up the Casey Highway. • In Jermyn, they’re throwing a borough-wide yard sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (also Sunday, May 7, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is part of the Jermyn Clean Up Month and is sponsored by the Jermyn Shade Tree Commission. • The Greater Carbondale YMCA, 82

N. Main St., will hold its annual spring craft fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be more than 30 local artisans showcasing their talents and crafts. Among the items that will be on sale will be handmade and direct-sale jewelry, wellness bracelets, doll clothing, seasonal floral arrangements and wreaths, homemade soaps and lotions, maple syrup products, Pampered Chef, fruit jellies and syrups, skin care products, handmade pottery and scarves, needlepoint crafts, wood crafts, pet treats, specialty clothing, homemade candles and more! The Y will be selling a variety of flowers and plants, as well as having a luncheon with a bake sale throughout the day. “This year’s YMCA Craft Show is being dedicated in memory of Shirley Rumford,” said Lisa Burke at the Y. “Shirley was the founding volunteer of the craft show and ran it until passing away unexpectedly in April. The proceeds from the craft show will go to the Y’s endowment fund in her memory.” There is a $1.00 donation at the door. Featured in the show are seniors Jason Malone, Alyssa Quinn, Haley Mulea, Miranda Rossetti, Gabby Miller and underclassman Ben Cerra. Also featured are professional actors Agnes Cummings, Tony Santaniello and Warren Cox, who will present two comedic
skits as part of the evenings entertainment. • If you’d prefer to socialize, the Northeast Social Dance Club will hold a dance from 8-11 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest, 403 Hudson St. in Mayfield.
