You voted, we counted and now the waiting is over. Here are the winners of the 2015 Readers’ Choice awards. We begin with two special awards, chosen by us. Last year we began awarding a special community service award, named by the editorial staff. This year’s recipient is the Eynon-Archbald Lions Club. And this year we created a new award: our favorite advertiser. Our sales reps got together and the choice was obvious: Ken Steffin, proprietor of Mr. Kenneth’s hair salon, who has advertised faithfully in the Advantage for 25 years. Here are the winners you picked. Auto Zone in Blakely won best auto parts store. Cougar Auto Services won best auto repair shop. Best new car dealer was won by Sylvester Chevrolet. Best used car dealer was won by Feel Good Motors. The result of the first-ever vote for best chiropractor was a tie between two separate practioners, Dr. Paul D. Blackledge and Dr. Paul M. Smola, both of Blakely. Best dance studio was won by Kelly Patrick Studio of Dance in Olyphant. The inaugural vote for best dentist was won by Dr. Joseph F. Ercolani. The balloting for best doctor was won by Dr. Susan M. Biancarelli of Jessup. The best gas station category was won by Pop Pop’s Mini Mart in Peckville. Best bank/credit union vote was won by the PNC Bank branch in Peckville. The friendliest bar prize was won by A.J.’s Club Soda. Best beer distributor was won by Joe’s Beerman in Peckville. The vote for best barber shop was won by Joe’s Haircuts. Jus 4 Fun DJ Service won the best professional party DJ prize. Best pharmacy was the Family Pharmacy store in Olyphant. Best flower shop was won by Lavender Goose. The best furniture store award was won by Rabel Furniture. The best grocery store award was won by the Quinn’s Market in

Best romantic restaurant was won by Bonnie & Clyde’s Hideaway in Eynon. Best place to dine with kids was won by The Caverna in Jessup. And Stacy Marino at the Caverna won for best waitress. Best bartender was won by Ray “Bubba” Tolerico at A.J.’s Club Soda in Peckville. The voting for best cup of coffee was won by Dunkin Donuts in Dickson City. The best dessert category was a tie between Coccetti’s and Mariano’s Cucina. The best diner award was won by Six East Restaurant. The best pasta prize went to Rossi’s Ristorante. The best wings prize went to The Windsor Inn in Jermyn. And the best hoagie/sub voting was won by Steve & Irenes Hoagies. Finally, we always include a space for you to suggest a category — and who should win it — that seems obvious to you, but we didn’t think of it.
