Don’t put the fancy-dress clothes in mothballs just yet. Two events, a charity event in the Mid-Valley and a businessrelated gathering in the Up Valley are on tap next week. • The Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will host its 12th annual Celebrating Progress dinner on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Carbondale Grand Hotel, according to executive director Laure Carlo. The guest speaker will be Dirk Mumford, chairman of the board of trustees for Wayne Memorial Hospital & Health System. He retired after 38 years with Exxon Mobil in 2002 and moved to Lake Como in northern Wayne County in 2003. Also speaking will be Paul Gallagher, a member of the board of directors of the Greater Carbondale YMCA. He will present the audience with an update on the success of the Greater Carbondale YMCA being ranked in the top 20 against more than 500 YMCAs across the nation by SEER Analytics.

Tickets are $75. There will be live entertainment by The Luongo Brothers.
