The Lackawanna Valley is turning into one big bunny trail this weekend, and the Easter Bunny himself will hop to just about every town. Here’s where you can catch up with him: • Citizens for a Healthy Jessup will sponsor its inaugural “Easter Eggstravaganza,” Saturday, March 19, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain date Sunday, March 20, 1-3 p.m.) at Memorial Field on Hill Street. Raffle entries and registration for children 12 and younger, accompanied by a guardian, starts at 11 a.m. The egg hunt will be at 11:30 a.m. Bring a basket. • The Eynon-Archbald Lions Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at the Archbald Athletic Club Field, Export Lane in Archbald. All children will be given an Easter egg bag filled with snacks and a chance to win one of six bikes or an Easter toy. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos, and an Easter bonnet contest will be held. Bring a basket. Rain date: March
26. • Wozniak-Pavloski Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 7963, 284 Main St. in Eynon, will host an Easter party for kids Saturday, March 19, noon to 2 p.m. There will be food, candy, face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny at no charge. Other sponsors include the VFW auxiliary, John Niedzinsky American Legion Post No. 624, Eynon-Sturges Hose Co. and Ambrose Revels American Legion Post No. 328. • Fell Township Renaissance will hold its annual Lunch with the Easter Bunny Saturday, March 19, at noon at Formels Hall, Doris Avenue in Simpson, featuring door prizes, candy and pictures with the bunny. Tickets are $4 per person. Call for reservations: 570282-4377. • The Knights of Columbus, Council No. 7622, and the Jermyn Lions Club will co-sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at the Jermyn Community Center, 450 Jefferson Ave. Candy and prizes will be awarded. Children will be divided into
age groups. For more information, call 570876-0122 or 570-876-3171. • Throop Hose Co. No. 2, 206 Boulevard Ave. in Throop, will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast Sunday, March 20, 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $7 and are available from any member or at the door. • Griffin Pond Animal Shelter will hold its annual Easter Bunny pet photos event at Gibbons Ford’s new location, 704 Martin F. Gibbons Blvd. in Dickson City, Sunday, March 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
