The seasons are changing and Taylor Community Library, 710 S. Main St., is heading into a new season of events and activities. Here’s a look at what’s happening in September: • September Donation: Libraries throughout the Lackawanna County Library System are collecting clean, empty, plastic medicine vials with labels removed to be taken to Mandeville, Jamaica for use there. • Chick Lit Book Club: Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. This month’s selection is “Show No Fear” by Perri O’Shaughnessy. • The library will be closed Saturday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor
Day. • Purl Girls Book Club: Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. This month’s selection is “Pinned for Murder” by Elizabeth Lynn Casey. • NEPA Writers Group meetings Wednesday Sept. 9 and 23 at 6:30 p.m. • Learn the art of coupon exchange Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. • Taylor Historical Society monthly meeting Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in local history is welcome. • On Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. meet Kathleen P. Manley and Paul R. Mazzoni, authors of “The Freach and Keen Murders: The True Story of the Crime that Shocked and Changed a Community.” Books will be avail-
able for purchase or bring your own copy to be autographed. • The “Read to a Dog” program resumes on Monday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite book or choose one from the shelves. Registration is required. • The Quilting Book Club’s annual meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. This months selection is “Stitches in Time” by Barbara Michaels. • The Christmas Club continues on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. This month, craft a handmade Christmas decoration. Registration is require for this class. And, catch up with library staffers at the Senior Health Fair at PNC Field on Friday, Sept. 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
