Setting up your AS Media Blog 1. Go to www.blogspot.com and click on Sign Up in the top right corner. 2. Fill in the registration details. 3. Click on the New Blog button in the top left corner. 4. Set up a new blog for your Year 12/ AS Media work. Think of an appropriate title (Boris Munchkin’s AS Media Blog, for instance). 5. Pick a template. You can change it later. DON’T PICK “DYNAMIC VIEWS”

FIRST POST 6. Create a new post by clicking on the orange pencil.

8. Add a title for this post, like “Introduction.” 7. This is where you type the body of your blog post. Write a few simple sentences like “Hi, I’m Boris Munchkin and this is my media blog.”

10. Use the tools to change font colour/ font size etc.

9. Label this post with the following tags/ labels (separate tags with commas): About me, G321 Preliminary task, G321 Thriller planning, G321 Thriller research, G321 Target Audience, G322A TV drama, G322B Film industry

11. Publish this post to your blog. The Publish button is at the top of the page.


Layout and Settings 12. Edit the settings of your blog as follows: a. Go to ‘Settings’ in the menu on the left of the screen. b. Go to ‘Mobile and email’ c. Where it says “Comment Notification Email” put in the email address you check most often. This may be your CNS email address, but it may be another email address. This will mean that every time a teacher comments on your blog, you’ll get an email. d. Save Settings (orange button in the top right corner) 13. Edit the Layout of your new blog: a. Go to Layout in the menu on the left of the screen b. In the margin, click Add a Gadget c. Select labels. d. “Save Arrangement”

14. Send the URL of your new blog to g.seal@cns-school.org
