November 2017 Staffing Mrs Duncan is unfortunately still absent. We are all really missing her and hope that she will be back with us soon. If you call the school and no one answers please leave a message on the answering machine and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as we can. Our Junior Administartors are on duty at break and lunchtimes. They have been doing a great job. We have had a number of very positive comments from outside agencies and partners. They are very good at passing on messages or seeking out adults to help.

Council Review Clackmannanshire Education Service wants to ensure that all their schools and nurseries are providing the best possible educational experiences for our children and young people. In session 2017/2018 they are intending to review all the nurseries and schools in Clackmannanshire. The Review Team will be visiting our school/nursery during the next few weeks.
The review will include:
Meetings with the Headteacher Classroom Observations of Learning and Teaching Meetings with pupil, staff and parent groups
As part of the review, questionnaires were issued. If you have not yet completed your questionnaire please do so and return to the school as soon as possible. We have 20 families who have already responded. Meetings will be arranged to further seek pupil, staff and parent views during the review.
Early Years Update Clackmannanshire Council are working in partnership with four local childminders to provide 600 hours of high quality funded childcare places for entitled two year olds. This is a new and exciting initiative which offers a flexible approach to your child’s early learning and childcare within a smaller environment. We currently have two childminders in Menstrie and two in Tullibody who can offer this provision, where they have availability. Applications are welcome from all areas; however we do not provide transport for children out with Menstrie or Tullibody. If you are interested in finding out more and for information on eligibility please see: http://www.clacks.gov.uk/learning/nurserytwoeligibility/ Or contact Wendy Mackay on 452446 / wmackay@clacks.gov.uk
Class Dojo
All our classes are set up with Class Dojo. Class Dojo is a simple, free mobile app for iOS and Android mobiles – it can also be accessed from a computer at www.classdojo.com. You will have received your letter to invite you to join Class Dojo. Most of our parents are on Class Dojo and the feedback that we have had so far has been very positive! Class teachers can instantly share messages, updates and photos from the classroom. I am also on Class Dojo and have found it a really effective way to communicate readily with parents. So far the uptake of parents has been P1/2 - 83%, P3/4/5 - 95% P6/7 – 75%
If you are not already on Class Dojo and would like to join please pop in and see us and we will help get you connected!
