Right now, digital video advertising is a top marketing trend. Not only is this form of marketing effective for increasing sales and brand recognition, but it’s also preferred by customers as most people today would rather watch an informative video than scroll down a long page of text.

A simple email, (such as the example shown), utilizing these new videos can be a powerful way to help you get in front of your national and regional advertisers before they set their budget for 2024—and seal your deals!

If you need help identifying the potential national advertisers in your territory or help with emails, ad campaign ideas and proposals, just give us a call at the Corporate Office…we’re happy to help!

Hello!

Coastal Angler would love to be involved with your media plans for 2024. We’re currently busy generating proposals and setting up print, digital, and social media plans at Coastal Angler Magazine. Let’s get together soon!

Can we set up a short meeting to discuss your company’s 2024 plans?

All the best, Ben Martin Editor In Chief camads@coastalanglermagazine.com 602-432-1544

CAN YOU HEAR SLEIGH BELLS RINGING YET?

Don’t

miss the boat to the North Pole! Businesses across the country are gearing up for the anticipated sales that the holidays bring, and every one of them knows that it’s going to be a battle for the dollar. Get your share by working hard now—start selling “Gifts For Anglers” ads in our National sleeve and “Stocking Stuffers” for your local section. November and December can be great revenue months for you if you fill your pages with these promotions. Your potential

advertisers will be looking for the best place to spend their remaining ad funds. Give every one of them a reason to buy one of these promotions by making the most sense. Your message should be no different than any other time, but make sure they understand that our outdoors demographic is what they need to have a successful marketing campaign.

Put your advertisers in front of the best readership for their products, and watch your stocking get stuffed, too!

ICAST 2023, the planet’s largest sportfishing trade show produced by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), promised to be bigger and better than ever—and it didn’t disappoint! More than 600 companies filled the giant exhibit halls of Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center July 11-14 showcasing all the latest and greatest in fishing from all over the world.

IN PICTURES...

Our CAM/TAM sales team was there in force and, utilizing our new marketing videos, a fabulous ICAST party, mobile billboard, custom tote giveaways and face-to-face meetings, countless valuable business connections were made.

It was a packed show at ICAST 2023. It's great to see trade shows get back to normal and the attendance proved it.

Alyssa and Daya handed out custom CAM/TAM tote bags which were a huge hit. Everyone was walking around with one!

Darcizzle says hello to everyone at Coastal Angler and thank you for the many great years of publishing and digital outlets!

Did you know CoastalAnglerMag.com was the first media outlet to interview Kevin Landers and American Tackle Company for winning Best of ICAST?

Fish On Fire was slammed packed for the Coastal Angler ICAST Party held on Wednesday, July 12. We served snook, hors d'oeuvres, drinks and more! Representing Coastal Angler Magazine and The Angler Magazine at ICAST 2023 were (from left) Ryan Clapper, Elizabeth Kempski, Ben Martin, Charlie McCullough, Danny Patrick, Joe Woody and Scott Goodman. A National sales meeting was held Tuesday night, July 11, before hitting the ICAST 2023 convention show floor. Live music was also provided at The Coastal Angler ICAST Party! Our Mobile Billboard drove around the Orange County Convention Center and displayed our print magazines as well as The Angler Video Magazine throughout the show. It was also parked outside the Coastal Angler Party!

Lowcountry Edition

WELCOME

Introducing Brooks Finneseth, Co-Publisher of Coastal Angler Magazine’s Lowcountry Edition. Brooks comes to the company with more that 25 years of print and television advertising sales and sales leadership experience. Having previously worked with Gannett, Landmark Publications, Comcast and Evening Post Industries, Brooks is excited for this new chapter in life. An avid fisherman and outdoors enthusiast for most of his life, he brings with him his wife, Ginger, of more than 28 years. Ginger also brings with her 25 plus years of media experience in print and direct mail.

Some would say this is what happens when you “fish off the company pier.” They met way back over 30 years ago while working in a daily newspaper and have been “competitors” ever since. Together, they have lived from Cincinnati to Louisville, and for the past 12 years have called Charleston their home. They have two sons, Gunnar and Nicklaus, who probably enjoyed growing up on the waters of the Lowcountry a little too much. Gunnar and Nicklaus are looking forward to being involved in the magazine, and Ginger is planning to join the effort when her career allows.

When asked, Ginger stated, “This is the best career for Brooks because he seems to spend a lot of his time in the fishing and tackle stores.”

Brooks commented, “The best part of this adventure for me is going to be partnering with the local and really hyper-local marine community that has been here always and help them to always be here.”

Lakeland Edition

Ed Snelling is our new Lakeland, FL Edition Franchise owner. The territory consists of Polk and Sumter Counties. He resides in Safety Harbor, FL and enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Ed will be coming out of partial retirement to launch his first edition this Fall. For the past 10 years, he has been working as a self-employed sales consultant to a select few companies in the constructionrelated industry in Pinellas County, FL.

Ed has over 35 years of advertising sales background, coupled with decades of publishing in national trade publications in the home building and medical fields. He says he has been in sales FOREVER! He previously owned three fishing magazine franchises in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma for 20 years, and a small fishing tackle production company in Texas. While publishing his fishing magazines, he became a regional sales manager for multiple states overseeing publishers in various markets in the south, southeast and southwest United States.

IT’S A BOY!

Ed has always been motivated by being responsible for his own success. Ed says his “experience and self-reliant get-it-done attitude will serve him well with future Coastal Angler Magazine publishing endeavors.”

Warmest congratulations to Volusia County Co-Publishers Deidra and Jamie Thrappas on the birth of their son, Drayton James Thrappas, born August 24 at 1:25 p.m. Proud parents say they are so in love and grateful for their healthy baby boy.
