The advantages of eating at The Juice’d Café go well beyond your tastebuds.

Stacey and Luis Gonsalves know the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, so as the owners of The Juice’d Café in Fall River, this couple is using their passion and creativity to improve lives in the community with an array of healthy and delicious food and drink options.

“We believe that food is the ultimate medicine and choosing clean and wholesome options is the only way to sustain growth and live a fulfilling life,” Stacey says. “Our vision is to provide our community with this medicine as a natural and enjoyable answer to healthy eating and nourishing your body and mind.”

Located at 1475 Plymouth Ave., The Juice’d Café opened its doors in January 2017. Whether you’re interested in eating in or taking out, their menu offers one-of-a-kind creations that are aimed at improving the health of people of all ages and lifestyles.

“All of our food is all-natural, fresh, and made to order,” Stacey says. “We make our own in-house dressings, we roast our own turkey and chicken and cook our own eggs. Everything is made from scratch. We don’t have any surprises – you’ll know exactly what you’re getting.”

“We make sure as much of our food is from local sources as possible,” Luis says.

The entire menu at The Juice’d Café has been designed and crafted by Stacey.

“I truly enjoy coming up with new ideas,” she says. “Cooking is a passion I’ve had since I was a little girl. My mother raised us with a healthy lifestyle.”

“Stacey has a natural talent for making food,” Luis says.

The menu at The Juice’d Café includes juices and smoothies, as well as salads, burritos, wraps, pizza flats, coffees, teas, and cleansers.

The Café claims that their juices will assist in many different areas, including skin, energy levels, cardiovascular, stress relief, and digestion. Some of their smoothies can benefit by boosting libido, enhancing your energy and metabolism.

“People of all lifestyles and persuasions can enjoy The Juice’d Café, our food is for everybody,” Stacey says. “Many of our customers are regulars. From a five-year-old child to a 50-year-old construction worker, it’s enjoyed by many people. Taste is important to us, we want people to know that healthy food doesn’t have to taste bad.”

The Juice’d Café was a project the Gonsalves had in their minds for more than two years, and they were assisted in opening the business with the help of the entrepreneur incubator E-forall. As lovers of travel, the couple would frequently visit healthy restaurants around the nation, gaining inspiration for their establishment.

The couple are also the owners of Shear Genius and the Ms. Shear Genius Salon, a chain of three barbershops in Fall River, including one nextdoor to The Juice’d Café. The couple opened their first barbershop in 1999.

“We do a lot of taste testing for our new products,” Stacey says. “When I have a new idea I’ll bring it nextdoor to the barbershop and try it with the clients and barbers.”

A couple for more than 27 years, Stacey is a native of Fall River and Luis is a military veteran who was raised in New Bedford. They have three children.

“We haven’t seen anyone in the area who does what we do,” Luis says. “Our mission has always been to serve the healthiest food at the best price possible. We’ve always led a healthy lifestyle so we wanted to bring that to the community. There’s a need for healthy alternatives in this area and we want to improve people’s lives through food.”
