Born in Wilmington, NC, Andy has spent his life in or on the water. From early fishing trips to Buzzards’ Bay with his father, fishing and diving offshore with friends, working in the marine towing business, to delivering boats from NC to Fort Lauderdale, boating has been the core of Andy’s life. Sea Tow App…..What Every Boater Needs. With technology changing our lives at every turn, boating is no different. The multifunctional smart phone by Sea Tow proves that. This simple to instant app replaces the need for printed tides charts that are commonly lost, get wet or never there when you need them. In addition to tide charts the app also provides up to the minute weather and best of all radar. The radar capability is invaluable as a means of reducing or eliminating the risk of facing severe weather.
The Sea Tow app also includes a GPS that is useful in the event your boat GPS fails. The GPS is also linked to a feature that allows boaters to call for “non-emergency” help in the event they need assistance. The software can change screen backgrounds for ease of use at night or bright sunlight. The only argument that stands in the way of total boater use is the requirement of being installed on smart phones. Some boaters that have not yet gravitated to the use of smart phones and insist on the age old option of the printed charts and local TV weather as their means of boating info.
