The Rincon Classic surf competition came to town over the weekend of Feb. 4 and 5 with moments of perfection on Saturday, and lesser but still very contestable waves on Sunday. Chuck Graham (pictured) used his decades of experience at the fabled break to pick the best waves in his heats, smashing and slashing his way across. Graham, known to CVN readers for his Unpredictable Wilderness column, is a fixture at Rincon when not paddling his kayak solo across the Santa Barbara Channel or running the backcountry. Turn to pages 14 and 15 to see photos from the contest.
