Time to shine

Cruzita Martinez, office coordinator at Rincon and Foothill High Schools, helps guide students (as she has for many years) in their graduation procession at Lions Park in Carpinteria on June 6. From front, Carlos Rodriguez, Erick Ortiz, Charlie Gardner and Ramiro Mendoza and other graduating students from Rincon and Foothill high schools gathered with family and friends to celebrate their achievement. Dignitaries from the Carpinteria Unified School District, including Rincon/Foothill Principal Barnaby Gloger, were on hand to congratulate the students. Class of 2017 Keynote Speaker Erick Daniel Ortiz addressed the crowd, and the Lions Club provided an after-graduation barbecue. More photos of the commencement can be found at coastalview.com and will be printed in the June 15 edition. ROBIN KARLSSON
