Rockin’ in the USA

Happy 100th, Rachel

Channeling the rebellion of the forefathers in 1776, the Santa Barbara Forge & Iron float rocks out at the Carpinteria Independence Day parade on Saturday, July 1. From left are Kai Sheets, Joel Patterson, Dan Patterson on drums, Madison Lowery and Dan Bos on guitar. The parade’s annual showcase of American spirit features local groups clad in red, white and blue as they strut down Linden Avenue with flags flying and hands waving. Floats come from schools and volunteer organizations and feature community leaders and music and dance presentations. Here, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross and their fellow countrymen shred their own patriotic tune that would make any listener proud to be an American.
