RUNNING AND CATCHING FOR MUG Goldridge Estate Agents has announced its latest fundraising effort in aid of local charity Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG). Island cricketer, David Hooper, is being sponsored £1 for each run he scores and £10 for each wicket he takes in the KRyS Global Premier Evening League 1. ‘Hoops’, as he is known, plays for Goldridge Griffins. Explained Goldridge director Matt De La Mare, ‘We are very pleased with the money we have raised for MUG via our sponsorship of Guernsey FC player, Dominic Heaume. Hoops is one of Guernsey Cricket’s star performers, and plays for one of our teams, so he seemed an obvious choice for further sponsorship in aid of the charity. We feel MUG is doing a fantastic job locally to raise awareness of prostate and now bowel cancer, and its efforts really are to be applauded.’ MUG founder, Trevor Kelham, said he was very pleased to hear about Goldridge’s latest plan to raise money for the charity. ‘Goldridge’s generous and ongoing support is very much appreciated,’ he added. ‘I am always delighted to support and help in any way that will help the community and can’t wait to get started!’ said David Hooper. ‘This is just an added incentive for me to do well!’
